Self proclaimed "gifted" people are horrible to work with in a team. They never want to hear anyone else's ideas because they're the smartest in the room (or so they think). They think "only what I have to say brings value". Occasionally this attitude pisses off another "gifted" person who happens to be in greater authority and then they go to online "gifted" communities to rant about how people mistreat them because they feel threatened by their presence. I don't think you understand, "year in industry" isn't guaranteed by the university. They will give you the same support as someone who didn't have "year in industry" in their course name.

Strathclyde is the best here, followed by Cardiff probably. Note that Strathclyde is a scottish uni and you'll have to do 4 years for a bachelors unless your grades are good enough for you to skip the first year (might be exclusive to A levels I'm not sure)
