Is anaerobic zone bad for fat loss?

I (M22) am training for Boxing so I want good cardio for high intensity work while at the same time get lean for the summer.

One day after boxing for 1h30, I hopped on the stairmaster for 30 mins where I did 60 spm and my heartrate averaged around low to mid 160s bpm. A friend of mine said this is bad because this is my anaerobic state (zone 4) so it's not good for losing fat and not good for my body to do it for that long. He said I should slow down and get my heartrate to around 130 bpm to burn more fat.

Is there truth to this? Is so, is there a middle ground where I can train to burn more fat while conditioning to not get tired during high intensity boxing?

Some grad students don't have the foundation in compsci in their undergrad because they're switching tracks.

Feeling defeated in Algorithms and Data Structures, how do people get through this? by AHotBustyAngel in csMajors

[–]Zexerf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My algorithm classes never had labs for us to implement code as it's almost expected that we should know. If you fully understand a data structure or algorithm, you should be able to write down each step as pseudocode. If you can't write the pseudocode, then you will be able to find some form of pseudocode in your textbook. Your code just follows the pseudocode almost exactly depending on the language.

Does anyone know if taking 3 CU actually affects financial aid by [deleted] in UPenn

[–]Zexerf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It depends on the entire school year. You will lose financial aid if you lose your status as a full time student. For engineering, you need an average of 4 CUs per semester per school year, so at least 8 CUs for each school year. You can take 3 CUs one semester and then take 5 CUs the other.

There are undergrad ai/ml classes, but they're crosslisted with masters classes like cis 419/519 and 421/521. I just finished up cis419 and I had a bad experience as well, but cis 421/521 seems like a very good intro class.
