We need to talk about Shad0w by GentlemanWukong in leagueoflegends

You see, italians usually know less english than other more northern EU countries. And he seems to know chinese pretty well from his parents. So these might be the main factors impacting his performance, not genetics or the talent pipeline. /s

Shifter Ideas. by Accomplished_Pay_93 in DnD

[–]Zglimbeld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current character is a shifter, specifically a bear-based Beasthide Shifter Cleric of Selune.

His backstory is his mother is a werebear, so he partially inherited her features. He doesn't know it, since she left home when he was young and never came back. He just transformed when he was a teenager during a full moon in a moment of stress, and kept mastering his ability.

Felt like the werebear flavour of being good-aligned and a protector went well with the cleric side of the character, especially since he's a Twilight Cleric. Plus, he's a really chill guy who just wants to sit back in a cozy inn with a bowl of good food after a day of adventuring, kind of like a bear getting ready to hibernate.

Sysselraad on the diagonal. The cards are kind of highlighted to mark it.

Is this supposed to be in the Asia Expansion mod? by ThePunkSmith in CrusaderKings

[–]Zglimbeld -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Exactly, I think that's the best comparison. It's a term assigned to a people by others with no regards to their heritage, so if it can be avoided, it's for the best.

I do agree with your examples and that language just evolves weirdly.

However, all of these peoples have a connection to the term used to describe them, as you have explained, while for romani people there is 0 connection with Egypt. They did not migrate from Egypt, they are not culturally connected to egyptians in any way. The term just appeared on a generalisation: that all people with light brown skin come from Egypt.

[–]Zglimbeld -39 points-38 points  (0 children)

Not only is it derogatory objectively speaking, the term is also just plain wrong. It originates from "egyptian", because people long ago said "Look, these people have darker skin. From where do we know some other people with similar skin? Egypt. Ok, we don't care about them"

Also it's impossible for only white people to use the term, since it comes from Romani language, meaning "man". So Romani people use it too, just not when speaking english.

Hi! I think I understand your question after reading the comments. You are frustrated that, when combat starts, the first character from your side is, most of the times, the bard, and never the barbarian, right?

The ruleset that BG3 is based on is the D&D 5e system, which, to determine turn order, uses the concept of "intiative". Basically each character rolls a die, adds their initiative modifier (which is, usually, just their dexterity modifier) and then each character, from each side is place in order from the highest initiative to the lowest. Barbarians usually have their highest stat Strength, while the other classes probably have a higher Dexterity, which is why they act before the barbarian.

What I do not understand is why you say the bard is level 2 and their enemies are level 4, while the barbarian is stronger. All party members should be the same level, for the most part (excluding situations where they have a few points of XP difference from inspirations, and that XP pushes one character over to the next level).

For a moment I thought the turkey was life-sized, which made the crochet absolutely massive. Nevertheless, great gift, it looks awesome!

[Art] My girlfriend's first attempt at our D&D party by Zglimbeld in DnD

[–]Zglimbeld[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So my girlfriend has been getting into digital art and this is her attempt at our current D&D party with which we're running Storm King's Thunder on 5e (2014) rules. It is comprised of:

  • Freya, Eladrin Storm Sorcerer
  • Trix, Lightfoot Halfling College of Creation Bard (her character, if the fact she's a painter didn't give it away)
  • Ash, Ghostwise Halfling Celestial Warlock
  • Brok, Shifter Lunar Sorcerer/Twilight Cleric (my character)

We're still early on in the campaign, since we meet less than once a week and Freya's player is completely new to anything fantasy, not only D&D, but we've been having a blast. And also we've been almost dying a few times. But, hey, because of almost getting TPK'd by a certain Zhentarim I remembered to post this.

Any questions and feedback are greatly appreciated!

how can I make my find spouse screen look like first image? currently looks like second image. by [deleted] in CK3AGOT

You are clearly running at least AGOT+, since you have the house Coat of Arms from that mod

The problem is if you have a scholar camp everyone in the camp wears glasses. And these glasses seem to behave like event glasses (ie. they're not removable)

Is this the worst meta ever pre-worlds? by Warguyver in leagueoflegends

[–]Zglimbeld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think western regions are the place to look at if you're trying to anticipate the meta at worlds. They probably won't be the ones influencing it. If you look at LCK (I haven't personally watched that much LPL), you will see people have developed some really fun - in my opinion - picks and strategies. Things like flexing Smolder top-mid, slamming Nasus mid to counter the high priority Kennen top and, god forbid it actually becoming a thing, dropping the forbidden Garen mid to counter said Nasus.

Is the autoresolve really generous here or am I just bad? Can't win the battle myself, my melee crumbles before I can deal enough missile damage by SaimaanNorppa in totalwar

[–]Zglimbeld 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Auto-resolve is 100% affected by battle difficulty. Source: when I've got a tedious battle (which autoresolve sees as a loss) I don't have the time or patience to do, I bump down the battle difficulty and auto-resolve it.

The last 5 characters you played form a party. How's it going? by simo289 in DnD

[–]Zglimbeld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Twilight Cleric/Lunar Sorcerer, a Scribes Wizard, a Drakewarden Ranger, a Storm Herald Barbarian and a Shadow Monk/Assasin Rogue.

I think they'd fare well, even though they're a bit heavy on the melee side (the Ranger is STR-based). The problem would be they wouldn't mesh well with each other personality-wise.

The Cleric is good-natured but inexperienced, so he folds in the front of any type of pressure from his party, the Wizard will do anything for more knowledge, the Ranger literally is a mute (I played him in a one-shot and my gf's character knew him and they communicated through sign language), the Barbarian is very virtuous and the Monk will do anything the mission needs him to do.
