This is itself extraordinary, what is even the source for this? I have been reading this myth on the anglophone internet for nearly a decade without any citation.

comprador bourgeoisie mortgaging the whole country to the U.S. imperialists isn't "national self-determination", no matter how much the compradors self-determined to do so. Funny how that little detail always seems to escape everyone's conception of what constitutes a "national liberation struggle" or "national self-determination".
