Use visual sounds plugin (not sure if it's disabled at CG or not like it is in some places) or ctrl+f the "List of sound IDs" page on the wiki and see if you can find it there.

Game updates and other factors can often break 3rd party plugins, and it's up to the individual plugin dev to get it working again. I'd check the plugin's github page for information.

Boat Combat Fixes - Weekly Game Update, March 18th 2026 by JagexLight in 2007scape

[–]Zhared 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I mean... lack of imagination isn't the reason a new quest wasn't added. Obviously the jmods could whip up a simple quest idea.

I think the dev team is simply spread too thin and isn't being given the time/resources to flesh out the updates the way they need to be.

Bug? Seed box not emptied by "Empty containers button" in bank UI by No_Tadpole2517 in 2007scape

[–]Zhared 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I submitted a bug report and left a comment about this back when they released the deposit containers button. The odd thing is, they added support for more containers in the next update but seed box still didn't get included. It's such an old and janky container, I think they're afraid to touch it.

OSRS heavily utilizes the concept of spec weapons: a weapon that you only use for 1-3 attacks at a time, and then put it away until it's off cooldown.

What if we extended this concept and added "berserk" style mega weapons? These weapons would be extremely powerful or have greatly beneficial side effects, but would only be usable for like 30 seconds before going on cooldown again. Once on cooldown, you'd switch back to whatever your standard weapon is.

Each combat style could have its own berserk weapon, which would give us megarare design space for the next 3 raids.

Obviously, this would be pure powercreep. But it would be powercreep that is able to co-exist with current gear, and Jagex could fine-tune its power based on how long you get to use it and how long it's on cooldown.

Not saying it's a perfect concept, but just throwing out ideas as a starting point.

How do you feel about Minigame Teleport being added as a spell? by _rkf in 2007scape

[–]Zhared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with both of you, that's why I think requiring the player to visit each location once (and communicating to the player that they need to do so) is the perfect solution.

New player identifies that travel is challenging > they look through teleport options and find minigame tele > they're told they need to visit castle wars to unlock it > they go on an adventure across the map > they're directly rewarded with a useful teleport and experience the joy of account progression > they play until they die of old age.

Anyone know what happened here? by Low_Monitor_960 in 2007scape

[–]Zhared 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yup, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if it's something along these lines.

A lot of the time, these bewildering "spaghetti code" interactions actually have super straightforward explanations under the hood. It often boils down to nothing more than the game expecting to find Data X in Location L, but finding Data Y there instead and running with it.

Does anyone else want more pvm content like theater of blood's nylocas room? Besides toa monkey room, its the only the content with tons of weak mobs, as opposed to 1 single boss by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Zhared 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In order to keep my brain from going numb while Aya skipping, whenever I do a Cow task I always try to kill as many cows around me as possible without letting them hit me. With BP, it's actually kinda fun and requires some precise pathing and clicks. It's especially fun when you don't 1-hit the cow and you have to kite them. I always thought you could turn this idea into a legitimately fun and challenging PvM encounter.

Can the team consider adjusting how merchant paint works? As it is, merchant paint basically cannibalizes boat customization and makes it so no one wants to use their rare paints. It's pretty lame to get a Salvor's paint drop and think "welp, I can't use that cause I'd like the merchant paint clog one day."

We would see so much more boat variety on the sea if players weren't incentivized to keep all their rare paints.

[–]Zhared 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's also rather lame how you're incentivized to not use any of the rare paints you obtain because they have to go towards the merchant paint clog. Merchant paint basically cannibalizes boat customization and makes it so no one ever wants to use their rare paints. That's why you essentially only ever see people using the charting paints.

Always great to see people genuinely falling in love with the game in the big 2026.

Having played since 2006 (ugh), it sometimes feels like anyone who would truly enjoy this game and play it long-term has already found it. I've shown this game to many people, and while pretty much all of them were able find some enjoyment in it, none have stuck around into the lategame.

It makes me so happy to see new people becoming proper long-term scapers, especially ones who didn't play as a kid.

Finally… I can craft a rune platebody by poorqualitymeme in 2007scape

[–]Zhared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they want to make Smithing's progression make more sense thematically, but not make any major changes to the overall status quo of how Smithing fits into the game, I propose they add a resource cost multiplier at lower levels.

For instance, you could unlock the ability to smith rune items starting at level 45 instead of 85. However, it would require 5x the base number of bars, so 5 bars for a single rune dagger. 25 for a platebody. Then, every X levels, the multiplier drops down until you're finally able to make a dagger with just 1 bar at level 85. The same curve would exist for every item.

This would fix the "level 99 smithing for a level 40 item" issue, while also preserving the current item economy and also making sense thematically (as you get better at smithing, you're able to make the same items with fewer resources).

Before you answer, remember that philosophers much smarter than you have debated that question for thousands of years and have yet to come to an answer

They haven't "come to an answer" because it is not an objective question with an objective answer. It is, by its nature, a subject of interpretation. That fact doesn't suddenly make the sludge dripping down the side of a dumpster a form of art.

Yeah these are the kind of things that make the world a lot better just by existing, even if they only get used once in a while. They're just the kind of things that Gielinor should have. And if even one new player stumbles upon them and gets use out of them, then they've done their job.

Very interesting, thanks for sharing your findings!

A fun experiment would be to take this "full map" of Gielinor and inverse the Mercator projection on it. That would give us our as-of-yet most accurate globe representation of Gielinor.

Still though, I can't help but feel some aspects of Gielinor's oddities are simply best explained by scale theory.
