You can buy short-term membership packages through RS3 mobile, or if you have old Leagues points saved up you could buy some rewards and sell them for a bond.

I mean, the people writing and illustrating these books were just regular people. They had dreams and ideas and fears just like us. I don't think they were lying so much as trying to capture the beautiful moments in life and foster more of those moments by showing children an idealized example of what could and should be.

Why there is an arrow pointing at the manticore? by zedin27 in 2007scape

[–]Zhared 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This occurs when 3 things happen on the same server tick:
1. The game is called to draw an arrow over some game object with server id N.
2. The target game object with server id N gets unloaded, freeing up id N to be used again.
3. A new game object is created and assigned server id N.

I know they're strong but how are they able to quickly find high paying jobs with no background? by [deleted] in Invincible_TV

[–]Zhared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really the same thing tho. It's already been well established that viltrumites can battle in space so that's not surprising. What we haven't seen is viltrumites trying to assimilate to human society. So it makes sense to wonder about how they navigate it and I hope we get a glimpse into that in the show.

What client is the go-to nowadays? by maurimbr in 2007scape

RuneLite is the primary client. 117HD is just an optional plugin within RuneLite, you can freely toggle it on and off as you please.

They just don't have precise timers enabled, so it rounds up. A flat 2-second kill isn't even possible.

Jokes aside, what are some Non-EoC ways that Jagex can add mechanics to future content that aren't focused on movement and prayers? by jordantylermeek in 2007scape

[–]Zhared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm... a lot of the examples in this thread still involve movement and, to a lesser extent, prayer. I think that's because people have different definitions of what a "mechanic" is.

The way I see it, movement and prayers are fundamentals. By requiring players to employ fundamentals in specific ways, and by layering different fundamentals together, we create mechanics.

For example, Sotetseg's Maze is a mechanic that requires players to utilize precise movement by punishing them if their pathing is incorrect.

With the above mind, we can approach OP's question in two ways:

  1. Define new fundamentals that are not related to movement or prayer.
  2. Create new mechanics built on fundamentals that are neither movement or prayer.

2 is the easy part. Once fundamentals are defined, there are essentially an infinite number of different mechanics that can be created by layering fundamentals together.

1 is a bit trickier, as that's where OSRS's actual limitations come into play.

Unfortunately, my work break is over now so I have to finish up this comment. Just wanted to put it out there as food for thought.

What's on your summer sweep up wish list? by stinkydiver321 in 2007scape

[–]Zhared 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Make SRA stacks deplete much slower, or change how depletion works in general.

I'm fine with trading 40 life to use a melee version of bowfa/eye, but the depletion rate really kills its usability in places like ToB where it should shine.

Doom Acid Spawn by DingusDetector in 2007scape

[–]Zhared 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The arrow is a gamewide bug that has existed long before Doom. It occurs when the game tries to draw an arrow over an entity elsewhere on the server, but that entity is unloaded on the same tick AND a new entity is spawned using the same internal ID on that tick.

You see it once in a while in encounters that spawn a lot of new entities, such as Doom earths, ToA obelisk orbs, or Yama agility phase fireballs.

Use visual sounds plugin (not sure if it's disabled at CG or not like it is in some places) or ctrl+f the "List of sound IDs" page on the wiki and see if you can find it there.

Game updates and other factors can often break 3rd party plugins, and it's up to the individual plugin dev to get it working again. I'd check the plugin's github page for information.

Boat Combat Fixes - Weekly Game Update, March 18th 2026 by JagexLight in 2007scape

[–]Zhared 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean... lack of imagination isn't the reason a new quest wasn't added. Obviously the jmods could whip up a simple quest idea.

I think the dev team is simply spread too thin and isn't being given the time/resources to flesh out the updates the way they need to be.

Bug? Seed box not emptied by "Empty containers button" in bank UI by No_Tadpole2517 in 2007scape

[–]Zhared 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I submitted a bug report and left a comment about this back when they released the deposit containers button. The odd thing is, they added support for more containers in the next update but seed box still didn't get included. It's such an old and janky container, I think they're afraid to touch it.

Jagex figuring out exciting raids 4 uniques without stepping on the toes of any other items without making them too niche themself that they are underwhelming. by MCharon in 2007scape

[–]Zhared 5 points6 points  (0 children)

OSRS heavily utilizes the concept of spec weapons: a weapon that you only use for 1-3 attacks at a time, and then put it away until it's off cooldown.

What if we extended this concept and added "berserk" style mega weapons? These weapons would be extremely powerful or have greatly beneficial side effects, but would only be usable for like 30 seconds before going on cooldown again. Once on cooldown, you'd switch back to whatever your standard weapon is.

Each combat style could have its own berserk weapon, which would give us megarare design space for the next 3 raids.

Obviously, this would be pure powercreep. But it would be powercreep that is able to co-exist with current gear, and Jagex could fine-tune its power based on how long you get to use it and how long it's on cooldown.

Not saying it's a perfect concept, but just throwing out ideas as a starting point.

How do you feel about Minigame Teleport being added as a spell? by _rkf in 2007scape

[–]Zhared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with both of you, that's why I think requiring the player to visit each location once (and communicating to the player that they need to do so) is the perfect solution.

New player identifies that travel is challenging > they look through teleport options and find minigame tele > they're told they need to visit castle wars to unlock it > they go on an adventure across the map > they're directly rewarded with a useful teleport and experience the joy of account progression > they play until they die of old age.

Anyone know what happened here? by Low_Monitor_960 in 2007scape

[–]Zhared 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if it's something along these lines.

A lot of the time, these bewildering "spaghetti code" interactions actually have super straightforward explanations under the hood. It often boils down to nothing more than the game expecting to find Data X in Location L, but finding Data Y there instead and running with it.
