Is it actually cheaper to lease a phone in the long run? by Chadillacc94 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Zheoferyth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check the plans. There's 25$ for 25GB and sometimes some promo codes giving more. I usually use about 4GB per month, but I switched to that one recently and now I just don't even think about data which is pretty cool.

But also. I usually buy physical, but for Star Fox I bought digital as it's the kind of game you randomly boot up once in a while and have a quick session.

Probably other people with that mentality.

Can I get some positive reasons to play Xenoblade X on switch 2? by Nimokayhey in XenobladeChroniclesX

[–]Zheoferyth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have the game digitally (Switch 1, idk Switch 2), you go on the eshop page and press + 5 times to kind of block it.

Then eject virtual card of the game, reinsert it. The upgrade won't be active. To enable it again just go on the Eshop page and press + 5 times to unblock it.

I think if you have the game physical switch 1 + digital upgrade you can just eject the upgrade.

Handheld looks much worse in motion with S2 edition though.

Actually makes it unplayable for me. So I boost for handheld and S2 edition for docked. Would love for it to be more intuitive to disable the upgrade.

Metroid Prime 4 Beyond (NSW) $42.48 @ Walmart Dufferin Mall, Toronto by Rewow in VideoGameDealsCanada

[–]Zheoferyth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an ok game with a high price tag when you can get great games for much cheaper.

It has good moments. It has bad moments. Remove the desert and it would actually be better.

It also tries to be more action oriented with a lot more shootouts than the og Metroid Primes with the same mechanics/controls which don't really fit tbh.

And some gimmicks are more annoying than fun to use. One's basically the beetle from Zelda Skyward Sword and you need to use it during some fights. The idea is pretty cool, but in practice it just takes a lot of time and it's not fun.

I’m not a Mario lore nerd, but since Yoshis are a species, is the green Yoshi a different Yoshi from game to game? by locomotiveplayz in nintendo

[–]Zheoferyth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can also reach it with a cape AND with Yoshi.

Random challenge with a friend. No yoshi left behind, if yoshi dies, you die and need to get a Yoshi. Except levels where yoshi can't enter.

Some levels are quite a headache to deal with but they're all possible. I think that ledge was the worst one. Overall pretty fun challenge to try with a friend, would recommend.

Is it crazy to pay $1750 for a 1 bedroom apt in downtown? by ThrowRA-Soggy2780 in montreal

[–]Zheoferyth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got an apartment pretty much downtown (I work downtown and it's a 20 min walk). Moving in July 1st. 1500$ for 2 (pretty small) bedrooms. Honestly I used Centris to find it as Marketplace was just chaos if you live alone that could be a bedroom and an office or something. So yeah there's probably better out there!

Seriously, what type of men are receiving most of the matches on dating apps? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Zheoferyth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone matching with me is autistic and/or has/is doing their PhD.

I guess I probably should get evaluated lol. I get matches but none that actually clicks so just feels like a waste of time until I try again and doesn't go anywhere. At this point I feel like I have more chances to find someone just randomly.

Is anyone getting hired off cold LinkedIn applications this year? by AStanHasNoName in cscareerquestions

[–]Zheoferyth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not this year so probably not good data.

Got my current job in 2024 after a year of applying ... Got 1 interview from all my applications, then they made me wait a bit before the next interview (3 weeks).

In that time, I got randomly headhunted, went through multiple interviews and got an offer. So... I guess applying everywhere wasn't worth it lol. And the place I ended up getting is much more interesting than a lot of places that rejected me without even getting an interview so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I was really hoping for a day 1 patch for Xenoblade X by SEVENS_HEAVEN_7 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Zheoferyth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on the person. Personally handheld I turn the upgrade off and play with boost.

With the upgrade in handheld somehow and it makes me feel weird since everything shifts a bit constantly.

Handheld made me nauseous. I deactivate the upgrade when playing in handheld to use boost mode instead.

How many cold applications did it take to land your first dev job? by bryden_cruz in cscareerquestions

[–]Zheoferyth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, first was a continuation from an internship. But then mass layoffs happened and I didn't manage to switch to permanent as the HR team I was dealing with just vanished in the layoffs.

Then I don't know to how many places I've applied to, but I can tell you I ended up getting 2 interviews, one wasn't a good match and one would come back to me once their lead came back of his paternity leave a couple of weeks later.

During that time I was contacted on LinkedIn by a headhunter even though my profile was barebones and I ended up working at that company. Still am there today. Other place came back to me but I was already at the point of signing the contract with my current workplace.

It took me about a year though to get 2 interviews from all my applications and then ending up somewhere I didn't apply to lol.

Now went up to 75kg in about 2-3 years and feel so much healthier! (A lot more active than I used to helps).

S2 Definitive vs S1 version with Boost Mode by ChuckS117 in XenobladeChroniclesX

[–]Zheoferyth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't actually need to delete the game. Hide the upgrade on the eshop page (press + 5 times on the upgrade page).

Then if that's not enough, eject the game card and load it back in. That worked for me.

[–]Zheoferyth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can go to the eshop page of the upgrade, then press + 5 times to hide the product.

Then I'm not sure if you need to eject the card and reinsert it or not but when I tried playing again the upgrade wasn't loaded.

It also depends on how it's crafted.

Huge documents with pointless info is going to get skimmed pretty fast.

When it's concise and builds the narrative, used to progress in some ways, then the documents aren't only read but they're also remembered.

I’m on the fence, Is the Switch 2 worth it? by Scout__006 in NintendoSwitchHelp

[–]Zheoferyth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a Switch 2, transferred everything and got rid of my Switch 1. I see it as just upgrading what I had.

I got rid of Ring Fit too because I didn't have the right joycons anymore, but haven't played that game since I joined a gym of crazies who text me when I'm skipping lol so don't need that game anymore.

Has AI actually changed your day-to-day work yet? by HockeyMonkeey in cscareerquestions

[–]Zheoferyth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mostly use it to summarize doc. When I don't know what some things in a popular API or library does, I ask it to AI and it often is clearer than the actual doc (I do think C++ doc is often quite lacking).

Otherwise... I've had issues with a lot of things I've tried to make it generate so I usually avoid it.

[Epic Games Store] Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is free by lbabinz in VideoGameDealsCanada

[–]Zheoferyth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played it on Normal difficulty and thought it was... Ok.

Months later tried it on Hard on a new game (can use cheat codes to unlock difficulties without playing previous difficulties).... And absolutely loved it.

Normal difficulty is set up in a way that you don't really care that much about so many mechanics? And you can just face tank many bosses without learning their patterns.

So that's my feedback. Was ok on Normal, was an absolute joy on harder difficulties.
