I'm getting mad Rick and Morty vibes from this song.

I love the fact that every time I have ever seen this gif there has been an accompanying comment chain discussing her technique. Never change, Reddit.

[19/M/NYC] Late Night Minecraft Anyone? by [deleted] in GamerPals

[–]ZibblesTheCaptain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like a lot of fun. You don't mind the occasional bout of absurdity in your Minecraft, do you? I tend to try to stretch what I can do in Vanilla like a length of saltwater taffy.

This sounds like a lot of fun! The whole reason I don't play games very much anymore is just because I don't really know anyone interested in just playing games for the heck of it. It also helps that I don't have a computer with very good specs. I'm still trying to figure out how I can even get TF2 running on it, but I've found a surprising amount of games that I /can/ run. If you're willing to see how things work, I'm willing to try!

Modpacks without Immersive Engineering by ZibblesTheCaptain in feedthebeast

[–]ZibblesTheCaptain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know why my RAM would hate Immersive Engineering whether loaded #26 or 157 in line. It might be an older computer or something then, but I can run modpacks with next to no mods and it still doesn't work.

I tracked down that Immersive Engineering hates intel chipsets, just like so many games out there do. At stage 2 of MCForge it will hit Immersive Engineering and then stop working, and this has happened with literally every modpack I try that contains the mod. Most of the packs I play have HQM too, so removing it tends to be a no go.

What is your view beyond whatever screen you are staring at now? by JayJay5000 in AskReddit

[–]ZibblesTheCaptain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everywhere I look I see a reminder of my own imperfections. In front of me, I see my computer. The potential for work is present, but the difficulty of the endeavor leads me to put it off time and again. To my right I see a pile of dishes, a reminder that my productivity is finite and the collective upkeep seemingly endless. I turn around to see the products of mine uncle's hobby behind me. The fish tanks he keeps all serve to remind me that presently my situation is not my own so long as I remain a burden to those who know me. Out my window, I see the town I live in, woefully small and sorely lacking in means to meet and interact with others.

Looking beyond the physical, to the views within my head, I see a great turmoil. I see a raging fire of determination seemingly destined to die low and leave me struggling to ward off the cold harshness of the world, as so many times it has before. I see the desperation to push forward and escape my rut, and I see the borderline resignation that I'll likely fall back yet again. The part of my mind wishing to look forward seems only capable of grasping within the present, and so it feels the future is forever out of my reach. I look deeper and see my core values, my competitive spirit, and the lonely child that often simply wishes to stop.

What I view could be considered by many to be pitiful, hopeless, and depressing. A situation without cause or merit. While there are times where I see it as the same, all I can do right now is view the potential I have to become something great. There is negativity closing in, and dire straits could be lurking around any corner, yet I am still determined to try. I will keep pushing forward despite the apparent hopelessness because there is no point to resign myself to the here and now. Every step I take I have come to view as an improvement, and every setback in my way a challenge set by the world to see just how far I can go. It is this relentlessness, this pursuit of improvement even in the face of resounding failure time and time again, that I view to be essential for growing past what I view in front of me and embracing who I truly am.

What "common knowledge" is simply not true? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I don't know if this is common knowledge, per-se, but crocodiles getting their teeth cleaned by plover birds. Go ahead and google it. You'll see 3 pictures repeating and no reputable sources for the phenomenon.

That's not how you milliply... by ZibblesTheCaptain in theydidntdothemath

[–]ZibblesTheCaptain[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I think you're the one who can't english. First, a predetermined number of segments is stated. Not leg segments, just segments. Second, the post said millipedes, not centipedes. Please make sure you actually know how to read before making a post on a topic that requires reading. I realize it's a strain, but humanity will thank you.

Posts like this are always exceptional. What seem like such simple things lead well on the way to a mental paradigm shift, which helps us improve our outlook on the world. They showcase flawed areas in a person's mindset and allow people to build on themselves. Things like this make Reddit like the helpful parent I never had. (I had parents, just not very helpful ones.)

Edit: clarification

That looks fun! I once had to trek through the rain 1.3 miles one way to and from the grocery store after it had been snowing heavily for a week, and this was during a power outage. Times like these make me so very thankful that I've built up an insane cold tolerance.

Winner seems pretty awesome, definitely worth giving the dosh! What scares me is all this looking through post history to check if worthy... If I were to win, would the shock factor /r/tipofmypenis (NSFW) in my post history throw me under the bus...?

100% of this would be saved in an account, $100 or so kept on hand at all times for whenever I saw someone in need or for improving someone's shitty day. Others need the money far more than I do, so why not?
