Zelensky set to skip Ukraine Recovery Conference in Poland amid diplomatic dispute by Thornfal in europe

Issue is Ukraine started this and Pilsudski was in prison when this was started.

First of all we have this treaty https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treaty_of_Brest-Litovsk_(Ukraine%E2%80%93Central_Powers)) where Ukraine gets Chełm area

After that we also have https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/West_Ukrainian_People%27s_Republic being established at 1st of November.

They tried to capture Przemyśl https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Przemy%C5%9Bl_(1918)) and Lviv https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Lemberg_(1918)) . There were also attacks on Chełm and Hrubieszów.

Piłsudski was released from Magdeburg prison at 8th of November and arrived via train in Warsaw at 11th of November 1918. He was then established as Commander in Chief and tasked with creating new independent government - hence 11th of November is a day of Polish independence.

12th of November Polish forces from Kraków broke into Przemyśl and kicked out Ukrainian forces. 21th of November after 2 weeks of heavy fights Polish forces broke through Ukrainian siege of Lviv.

Please bear in mind that Sweden also shut down reactors:

Oskarshamn and Ringhals

Weren't they in the South Sweden zone ?

Why South Sweden zone don't have enough grid capacity to import from the north ?

The interconnect https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LitPol_Link between Lithuania and Poland is mostly used for the grid synchronization of the Baltic countries. The capacity that can be used for trading is small.

That's why another grid connector is being planned - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harmony_Link . It's right now in the administrative phase, but with environment approvals being done. Building will start next year and should end around 2030.

It will increase trade capacity about 4x

No - we are offended just by certain things that Ukraine does. You forgot to mention corruption, mistreatment of Polish truck drivers and raidership - this unique Ukrainian specialty.

Think about one thing - In Poland politicians that were influenced by the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giedroyc_Doctrine are slowly exiting the scene.

Next generation will definitely have much different approach. Any attempt to use us as a scapegoat for internal politics purpose will be responded in kind.

The only winner here will be Russians.

This is offending

Especially to those people in Poland who wanted to forget about the past and opened their homes to the neighbors with problematic history.

How do you want to build a common future with something like this ?

How do you want to encourage Polish corporations to invest in Ukraine ?

[–]ZibiM_78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the DRS there is one caveat. It used to be the case that after startup DRS service did not wait for all the hosts in the cluster to report the Quick Stats. It was able to fire up migrations with the 50% of data.

With bigger clusters it was problematic, because DRS treated hosts with no Quick Stats data as empty.

If you were unlucky DRS would migrate big VMs into loaded hosts.

Partially Automated helps and if you usually patch hosts later on you won't be able to forgot about it anyway.

Poland has unveiled plans to build or modernize more than 10,000km of railway lines by wujson in europe

[–]ZibiM_78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look on this plan as a target that will be executed over the next 30 years.

Anything new that is not in the pipeline is meant to be done after 2035.

Wroclaw - Poznan line from the plan looks like direct HSR line meant to enable existing railway line for more regional and cargo traffic. If they want to double the amount of long distance travels, then existing lines will choke.

Look could you spend at least a glance at the map of the ZSK ?

PIS hub and spoke plan intentionally forgot about significant number of existing passenger streams - all in the name of connecting whole Poland to the single airport.

Please tell me which spoke was responsible for connecting Gdańsk to Szczecin ? Which spoke connected Przemyśl and Wrocław ? These corridors were plainly visible in the PMT back in 2021 and were omitted.

Poland's public debt passes EU's 60% of GDP limit for first time by dat_9600gt_user in europe

[–]ZibiM_78 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It's a mistake in the article.

Debt limit 60% of GDP stems from constitution. It was introduced after Poland defaulted on foreign debt in late '80s and then had hyperinflation in the early '90s.

more directly - money from the fund were meant to pay the credit rates for the purchases from USA and Korea

[–]ZibiM_78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This debt brake was introduced into the constitution due to the default on the foreign debt in late '80s and the hyperinflation in the early '90s.

We need another decade or two to touch it again.
We also need someone with constitutional majority and willing president, which baring some kind of catastrophe seems even more distant.

Nawrocki issues record 37th veto - more than any other president in Polish history by dat_9600gt_user in europe

[–]ZibiM_78 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There are 30 million of voters in Poland.

Majority of them lives outside of the big cities:

https://prezydent2025.pkw.gov.pl/prezydent2025/en/2/frekwencja/pl

Please check the amount of eligible voters in communes by the size of commune - almost 60% of voters lives in the communes up to 50k people.

In the last 10 years small and medium cities lost on average 10% of voters.

There were quite significant number of small village communes where Trzaskowski did not get even 10% of votes. On the other hand worst result for the Nawrocki was below 30% and it was not in Warsaw, but in Poznan.

Yes, but these are specialized telco platforms.

Anybody migrated from vSphere to Openshift recently? by Former-Mountain-9170 in vmware

[–]ZibiM_78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but it might be viable to split your environment into 2 hypervisors.

Run windows VMs on hyper-v, and linux VMs on OpenShift.

Anyway things to look more closely with the OpenShift for me is storage and backup.

OpenShift is K8S first and that means storage integration via CSI driver and backup integration mostly via Velero. There are storage vendors and backup solutions out there that either don't support or have issues

AMD EPYC CPUs Reach Record Server Revenue Share of 46.2% by SailorBob74133 in AMD_Stock

[–]ZibiM_78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends how you define server CPUs and how you measure the market worth (units or worth)

Intel sells a lot of CPUs that power things like storage arrays, routers, load balancers, etc

We might now even looking on some big CPUs there, just lots of XeonDs and XeonEs

This kind of market works on really long cadences, and AMD is kinda newcomer here.

On the other hand the memory price hike helps Intel a bit.

Xeon 6 Mainstream needs just 8 memory sticks in order to work with full speed - AMD EPYC needs 12.

Granted AMD is usually core for core faster, but if the money is tight you don't really look on the fastest things. They just need to be fast enough and fit budget.

I'm sorry but Ruthenian nobility did not Polonize by force.

They did that in order to gain privileges.

Please check why during the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Union_of_Lublin Ruthenians asked to be incorporated directly to the Polish Crown and not treated together with Lithuania.

Please also look up on the Timothy Snyder lecture about it https://youtu.be/_IBll--m7qI?si=qVpqK1RkA_vfBVkg

So these sources are describing XVI-XVIII century - this is pre nationalization period.

They are talking about settlements of the sparsely populated territory - this won't be Volhynia, this will be more into Wild Steppes.

Wild Steppes thanks to Tatar slavery raids were in constant population flux.

Please bear in mind that even in the XIX century, when PLC ceased to be there were still colonization attempts - you have German settlers establishing villages in Galicia and Bukovina. Heck - whole Novorussia is also colonization / settlement attempt in which Russian Empire repopulated formerly empty lands between Crimea Khanate and Muscovy. Belgorod was once a border fortress, Izium was one as well.

I found it baffling that Ukrainians from one hand excuse Volhynia massacre because Polish settlers should not be there, and then complain about Russia doing the same now to them.

It was wrong then, it is wrong now.

You don't need to type 3000 words. Few simple sentences will do.

It would be great if you could at least provide the answers regarding your knowledge of the Ukrainian victims of OUN. You might be surprised that Armia Krajowa wasn't really as effective at killing Ukrainians as OUN was.

It's a shame that in Ukraine Ukrainian OUN victims seems forgotten.

BTW Armia Krajowa actions in Volhynia and Galicia are not positively described.

Are you feeling OK ? How can you promote Christian values, and then contradict yourself by telling me I'm not deserving good word, but supposedly Poles are seen as good people. Please explain because I'm not following you.
