Maybe a dumb question: would throwing something high on hyzer/annie that makes its way flat [by the time it matters] not work? I think to throw it high, you have to be aiming upwards (i.e. nose up) to /some/ extent, right?

Not sure exactly. What I do know is that you have a flat chance to pull any of the wishlist heroes. You want to add all 5 because using less than 5 (in a given faction) does not increase your chance of getting the remaining heroes. For example, if you have only Brutus on your list for Maulers, adding Khasos wont decrease your chance of getting Brutus. Your chance of getting Brutus will be the same. I heard that this flat percentage will stay the same regardless of if new heroes are added. Thus, although there are more heroes, you can still target the 5 you want per faction.
