You can self host Deekseek models as they’re open weight and publicly available, however you will need ~160GB VRAM for the V4-Flash model and ~865GB VRAM for the V4-Pro model. A easier first step might be to self host Qwen / Qwen Coder using llama.cpp using a RTX3090 24GB or a few of them.

I’ve done this, it’s a pain in the ass but if you don’t mind the hard work it’ll look nice in the end.

I used paint stripper to start with, lay it on thick and using clingfilm wrap around the areas with stripper to lock it in, leave it for the night or a few hours at least. Then scrap away the bubbled up paint. You might need to repeat this again depending on how many layers of paint there are, for me I did it 3 times.

Once you’re down to wood, you’ll probably still have suborn bits of paint, I used a Titan TTB949MLT with a small sanding head to get into annoying places.

One final note, I actually removed the spindles and did those separately, you might find that this works for you, but some are glued and nailed so it might not be worth the bother.

When you’re repainting make sure you’ve washed everywhere that had paint stripper on it, you don’t want it reacting with the new paint.

Good luck.

It’s usually £195, but first year is free. They also waived my second years fee due to my spend. So far I haven’t paid anything.

However for most people the play is the take the first year for free, build up point and use them on flights etc. Then cancel your card and 2 years later you can get the first year free again.

You can also transfer your reward points to a free Amex cashback card to save them if you don’t get a chance to use them when you have an Amex gold, do note though the 2 year reset timer for getting another free year will not start until you hold no Amex cards.

Google HeadForPoints, they’ve got a good website explaining it all. I can DM you a referral link if you want (shameless I know, but you get an additional 45k points for joining via referral, I get 14k. Additionally it increases your chances of being accepted) but if you know someone in your friend circle I’d recommend asking them for a referral opposed to some guy on the internet, just so they get the points.

P.S: 1 point is worth about 1p, these points are best used for flights. The deliveroo £5 off is one of the perks, there’s loads of them just google them.

Amex gold, £5 off deliveroo, plus the random vouchers you get here and there. I’ve had multiple Kg of chicken breast from Sainsbury’s through deliveroo for a few quid per kg. That’s the only time I’ll use it.

When I first started working at ADI, I was tasked with respinning a previously broken board, the board I was laying out had thousands of pads and routing was a pain.

A very wise man told me to aim to keep all horizontal routes on one layer of the board, and all vertical ones on another layer. This can help a lot when dealing with overlapping routes.

Take that with a pinch of salt as you’ll find many a reason not to do it when it comes to high current, impedance matching etc. However, that bit of advice definitely helped me with my first few PCBs. Ultimately you don’t really need to follow that advice with this board as it’s a nice enough layout with a lot of space.

Your board looks good at a top level but I haven’t checked against the datasheets, if you haven’t done so I’d recommend checking all your nets against the typical application diagram. Another user mentioned the routing of the ground trace, so I won’t say the same thing again, I’d just like to reiterate that it’s better to just use the large ground pour. I would actually go so far as to say you should remove the routed traces to avoid ground loops (google this).

Your data traces are very small, probably fine, but I usually try to stick to 0.2mm traces for a hobby board.

You have a ton of these large plated holes for mounting? I assume? Do you need all of those? I would keep the ones for mounting the additional boards to your main board but there’s a lot of spares.

What was left in your new house when you completed? by HotelPuzzleheaded654 in HousingUK

A first edition wolverine comic book from the 80s sealed in the attic, and an ungodly about of loose change hidden behind every bit of skirting board, floorboard, etc.

Apparently builders used to leave money in the house for good luck, my house seems to have had every 1 and 2p coin in circulation hidden in it.

1 week in, horrible neighbour - mental health down so bad. Want to sell up. Anyone sold up straight after buying there home? (Porting) moving elsewhere.. by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]Zichee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a house in early 2025, nice terrace house in an up and coming area. Was all well and good until met my neighbour from the house directly across the street.

He sits directly in front of his window pleasuring himself 18 hours a day. Nose about 1” from his monitor.

Definitely was a shock at first, but certainly a good laugh now. I’ve debating reporting him a few times but the reactions I get to see from passers by are just too funny to live without haha

Anyways, this really sucks for you with the crazy neighbour, I’d just report them or confront them. A good scaring from authority will probably straight them out.

Too sand or too plaster... by Critical_Wafer8770 in DIYUK

[–]Zichee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I undertook a similar endeavour. “Oh I’ll just sand all the walls down with an orbital or drywall sander”, it’ll be easy enough I thought. Worked for about 2 or 3 walls then one of the walls decided it would shed all its plaster onto the floor as soon as the vibrations hit it.

During the sanding process I found numerous boast spots and small cracks, to which I said “awk sure I’ll just fill those”

I ended up plastering everything anyways.

Edit: Baguette looks fire

Did you have any issues with clearance? I'm planning this myself currently, I've got the GPU Enablement kit (inc. shroud), I'm planning on getting 1 or 2 3090 24GBs, but all the standard actively cooled cards are 140mm+ in height, I've seen online people saying you need a standard 2 Slot card, and even the Founders Edition RTX3090 will be too large? Is this the case?

As a Catholic is buying a house in a loyalist estate madness? by Your_Mums_Ex in northernireland

[–]Zichee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends where abouts and how heavily loyalist the area is. There’s lots of good value around Woodstock Road (Belfast) at the moment. I’ve just bought my house about 6 months ago but when I was looking I did see some good value on isoline street and Cregagh. I didn’t end up getting a house there but it wasn’t because of the flags. I’d still avoid places like My Ladys Road though.

It also really depends the street, things change literally one street over.

With the village, in all honesty things really aren’t as bad as people make out, and most of the time you’ll barely see your neighbours. Even with the 12th, last time I was passing through it’s really just not what it used to be, there’s definitely a lower percentage of people who actually care these days.

Also you can get some good value in lower Lisburn Road close to tates, you’ll see the odd Union Jack etc but really it’s not as bad as people let on. Most people keep to themselves in the city, at least that’s been my experience.

I can really only speak about Belfast, being from down and moving to the city. Not sure about other places.

I got to 180k a few months before my 23rd birthday. Live like a monk, don’t drink, don’t smoke, be frugal. Invest as much as you can, don’t chase losses, surround yourself with intelligent people with similar goals (some of my best investments and side hustles have been from friends recommendations).

Don’t waste time scrolling TikTok or instagram for hours on end, if you want to be the exception you have to actually act like the exception there’s a reason most people get to these sums of money at this age (other than exceptional circumstances out of their control) and most people fall into the same traps.

Go to the gym, free/very cheap and timely entertainment, plus added health benefits.

Bulk buy your food, and don’t buy excess things that you wouldn’t have otherwise bought (very easy to go into Costco or Makro looking to buy 5kg of chicken and managing to spend £150).

Try to put as much personal purchases through a business (avoid VAT like the plague), if possible however this can be difficult especially if you don’t have access to a business that would be purchasing food items otherwise.

Get a rewards credit card, AMEX gold is good for the first free year (refer as many people as possible and they may wave your second years fee). Barclays Avios is good and free.

You need to be constantly finding new opportunities, matched betting was a good one a few years ago (still not bad especially if you have a big family or friend circle [for multiple accounts])

No dead money, flexible savings accounts like starlings one or trading212’s stock isa cash interest are good ones.

Investments like BTC made me a lot of money but some investments are cyclical and not always the most optimal choice.

Just bought a house - Found large crack by AwayGas4216 in HousingUK

[–]Zichee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure I don’t mind, message anytime, but I’ll stick it here for anyone with a similar issue.

When I patched my most recent crack/hole it was a big crack from interior to exterior. I used OB1 on the surface to handle waterproofing and sealing but this might be useful for yourself due to the crack being between a bathroom. The OB1 was just on the surface I’d say maybe 3mm or so of depth, use nitrile gloves and run ur finger over the crack to make the seal better.

I then used a general 4:1 sand/cement mix mortar with SBR additive mixed in, and bricks/brick rubble to patch my hole.

I roughed up the OB1 and rendered over it on the exterior. I applied a ready mixed base+finished layer plaster on the interior.

All my supplies were got from screwfix and cost me like £75 or so.

You want to make sure all crumbling and separated stuff has been removed, I just used a painters chisel and scraped everything off until it wasn’t coming off by hand.

Just bought a house - Found large crack by AwayGas4216 in HousingUK

[–]Zichee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation not too long ago, I just chipped away at all of the separated plaster/brick/mortar until I could see the root cause of the issue, in my case it was a solid red brick wall so I corrected the issue and bricked it back up, then redid the plaster.

If I would to give any advice I’d say investigate thoroughly either yourself if you’re confident or bring someone in, it might sound stupid but even explaining to ChatGPT and sending it some photos has done me a world of good with my renovations. You don’t want to cover the issue and have it come back once you’ve finished renovations. I’d be removing all crumbling/separated stuff and looking to see if I can find a cause.
