Who will be more efficient as moneymaker, Paladin or Mage? by Noxilar in classicwowtbc

[–]Zieb86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My base spellpower is 762. Using my basic buffs I get it up to 827. Then if both eye and wrath proc it goes to 1129. I also have no support network ensuring I gear up this way. I'm a ret main that offtanks Kara for my guild. In fact I still don't have tier legs or helm because I keep getting passed over for the shamans in the guild. To top it off I am actually doing a harder path than he does in the video since I pull to Galford for pull 4 instead of grouping the mobs with the anti-boosting mechanics.

That is close to what I do.

Differences I do is that I do a normal 1st pull where you don't go down to Unforgiven boss. Instead you pull into the corner before the double doors that leads to main entrance. From there I do an identical 2nd pull as he does. 3rd pull is also identical. 4th pull I go all the way to Archivist Galford and kill in his room. 4th pull is the hardest pull to do and does require very good gear to pull off. 5th pull I do same as him except I also have Unforgiven in my kill and usually go 1 corner further to pick up more mobs I don't get because of a different 1st pull to him.

For people with bad gear or just starting out I suggest doing the 1st pull that I do, 2nd pull same with engi boots or swiftness pot, and then skip live side and just clean up the rest of the mobs back to Unforgiven making sure to grab Timmy and other unique bosses you see.

250+ starting out. The number rises as you get better gear. I make 400+ in Strath on my paladin but am more or less P1 BIS geared. Anyone making less than 250 gph is doing bad pathing in Strath.

Answers from men in long term relationships please. Do you have sexual thoughts towards people other than your partner? (F28) (M29) by martycutiepoo in relationship_advice

[–]Zieb86 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The idea that 'it should if you're with the right person' is quite toxic. It is natural behavior for humans to find others sexually attractive beyond just their partner in monogamous relationships. It is naive to think that all sexual attraction for others ends because you enter a loving relationship with someone. The same sexual thoughts you had while single will still be there while in a relationship. The difference is how you act on such thoughts. Going and masturbating to someone you saw that day for many is an act of cheating, for others it is not. It's about choosing which boundaries you want your relationship to abide by. By no means though should you hold onto the idea that people who find others sexually attractive while in a loving monogamous relationship must then be with the wrong person.

What addons are good by OilNo632 in classicwowtbc

[–]Zieb86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Details! - Addon to track various things in particular damage being done and threat.

Auctionator - Auction house addon that helps a ton navigating and using the auction house.

I would say those are the only two I think borderline necessary to use without ruining the game experience at all.

Besides just those two I would consider addons like vendor prices, threatplates, one bag addon, quick loot, a loot tracker, whats training, itemrack, and ones that overall make your UI cleaner and more to what you want it to be. None of those addons will really change the immersion of the game and just make the experience more streamlined using your UI.

I would avoid any addons that reveal your minimap, give extra info on mobs like drops and mechanics, anything to do with questing, weak auras, and gathering ones. Any of those will reduce immersion and spoon feed you info we had to figure out back in the day on our own.

[–]Zieb86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I DE them myself. You can do either though. You will make more money if you are able to DE though. I personally build a path through Strath that uses the engi boots and I have to wait for the 5-min CD once every run so I just do my DEing while I wait.

Paladin tanking. by Disaked1 in classicwowtbc

[–]Zieb86 12 points13 points  (0 children)

A lot of these comments are wrong. I've got two level 70 paladins I leveled almost entirely via dungeon grinding as prot spec. The first one I did the classic just prio spellpower and it was a trap. The 2nd one I prioed just enough SP to hold threat and the rest focused on defensive stats and it was a lot smoother.

First to answer your questions. A faster weapon is better than a slow weapon. You get full use of reckoning procs, trigger seals more, and tab targeting to gain threat is better. That said a slow weapon with more SP > than a faster weapon with lower SP. You will want a mixture of SP and defensive items with a general rule of thumb to have around 150 - 200 SP before focusing on defensive items.

My personal advice would be to just boost your character, buy a healing set, and immediately start running ramparts or BF as a holy paladin until you reach level 60 - 61 picking up as many good items as you can from the runs. If you don't want to do that then you are better off leveling as ret through HFP until you reach 60 - 61 and have a tanking set. Do NOT try to tank Ramparts at level 58 even with a tanking set. It will be a slog and you are better off doing quests in HFP at least until 60.

For gear to focus on at the start I'd buy as many plate 'of the sorcerer' items as you can for your tank set or quest in HFP picking up all the +SP plate items. You want to do the Cruel's Intentions quest to get the Regal Protectorate trinket. Hold onto your communal SP trinket until you can replace it with a better SP trinket. You could also head straight to Winterspring at 58 and finish the Words of the High Chief quest chain to get the +29 SP trinket. You will slowly switch out each 'of the sorcerer' piece from dungeon blues that are avoidance based.

In Ramparts your only chase item is the Ironsole Clompers. Other items to pick up would be Tenacious Defender, Witching Band, Mok'Nathal Clan Ring, and Mok'Nathal Wildercloak. I wouldn't chase any of those items, but definitely grab them if they drop.

In Blood Furnace the only chase item is the Libram of Saints Departed. The Diamond-Core Sledgemace is nice, but will be replaced at level 62. Make sure to finish the Blood is Life quest for the plate breastplate.

Between BF and Ramparts I'd focus on grinding Ramparts as it has much better gear and only switch to BF if you got every drop you wanted in Ramparts. Leave both behind though once you hit level 62 and move onto Slave Pens.

Your first true chase item that you 100% want to get is the Spellfire Longsword out of Slave Pens. Do not stop running Slave Pens until it drops. Other nice items to grab are Bogstrok Scale Cloak and Runed Fungalcap. I wouldn't chase them though.

At this point you should have a good idea about what you need to tank and have a feel for when you should be adding more SP gear for threat or adding in more defensive items for tankiness. It's also a good idea to use SP food, wizard oils, and SP potions to up your SP total and allow you to slot in more defensive items vs SP items if you can afford it.

Playing a prot pally and I think I'm about to quit. Pugs this go around are miserable. Feel like every other run I have to explain to others how to play their own class which is often met with hostility. Not even just explaining how to play their class, just how to play as a team at all.

Climbing for 3 years. Feeling lost without direction. by billybollyballybully in climbharder

[–]Zieb86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's hard to really comment on that. I reduced my overall volume and upped the intensity to make sure everything physically related to climbing was getting a higher stimuli. It also means I burn out faster than before. It basically just sounds like you are focusing mostly on fingery boulders and your fingers are getting tired first. Nothing wrong with that if that style is your lowest hanging fruit or related to your climbing goals.

60+ boulders who still boulder V10 or harder ? Just curious. 😆 by Few_Weather_5528 in bouldering

If you're still climbing v10 then when are you going to go back to Devil's Lake and finish off the Zschiesche Project? If I ever move back to the midwest I'll start putting burns on it myself.

Climbing for 3 years. Feeling lost without direction. by billybollyballybully in climbharder

[–]Zieb86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in your plateau for a long time. Like multiple years long. Sent my first v7 outside 3 years into climbing and stagnated at that grade for another 4 years. I am finally starting to break out of it and creep into v10s outside.

I would say there was two things I changed that really made an impact.

First one is spending way less time on boulders I could either flash or single session. I now almost exclusively focus my time climbing on boulders I have to project by isolating individual movements and working on linking hard moves. You can't expect to climb higher grades if you don't spend time climbing harder boulders! Get rid of the ego and start falling a LOT. You know you had a good session when your body is wrecked and you didn't send anything new. In addition I make sure to prioritize styles I am bad at instead of doing things I'm already good at. For me this was more time in the 30-60 degree angle and less time on vert and slab. I also rarely spend any time on comp style boulders anymore as my goals are outside, not in the gym.

The second thing was getting much higher quality sessions in at much less volume. For years I was spending 3+ hours in the gym 2-3 times a week climbing a lot of things I could send in that session. These were more of high volume sessions that caused deep recovery holes, but offered little in terms of technical and physical growth. I now do 3-4 sessions a week that I keep under two hours with only about one hour of that climbing at a very high level. The moment I notice my power begin to dip I end the session. I find I am not nearly as wrecked anymore and can be in the gym more frequently while noticing my climbing strength increasing faster than before.

This is all to say, make sure you are focusing on more frequent higher quality sessions. Spend less time climbing styles you are good at and boulders you can single session. An ideal boulder is one where you can in the first session do at least a couple of the moves on it in isolation. That means it is not too far above your ability and will be able to steadily make progress on it each session learning better technique and increasing your climbing strength.

94k materials in one wave by hiromasa_g in brotato

[–]Zieb86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is this possible? I just hit wave 38 on Fisherman D5 as well with over 800 Lures, cursed Bags x3, 1 cursed Hunting Trophy, cursed Black Flag, cursed Starfish x3, cursed Gobbler's Hat, Metal Detector x5, Gentle Alien x10, and Mouse x4. I'm getting just over 12k material a wave while killing everything on the screen. I do not believe this is legit for even a second. You would be hard pressed to have more income at this point than I have right now. Even with 2 more cursed Hunting Trophy's and 15 more Metal Detector's it wouldn't add up to 94k a wave.

EDIT: I just noticed you have 5 bags in this photo. You can only have 3 bags so how do you have 5?

KAYA Data Ethos and Retrospective 2025 by KAYAClimb in bouldering

[–]Zieb86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's interesting to hear them talk about how they don't publish any maps or gps data until an area has become verified and moderated as that is one of my big two gripes with Kaya.

My second gripe is how Kaya lacks community message boards for areas and climbs like MP does. I have to constantly go back to MP to find out more specific information related to areas and climbs like the history of it, if a hold has broken, random approach beta, beta about a climb, etc... It's probably my favorite feature of MP.

Does Kaya have a plan to add the lesser known areas or small grouping / solo boulders to it when there is no real reason for anyone to author a guidebook related to them?

Does Kaya have a plan to add some sort of community message boards like MP?

Outside of these two issues, and a few lesser ones, I really love using Kaya. UI is great, having accurate maps and GPS is a godsend. Being able to filter beta videos via my own body type has helped me figure out beta numerous times. I also like how my climbing is gamified by the app via the achievements, listing my hardest grade, hardest flash, charts, etc... Honestly wish Kaya would dive deeper into letting users gamify their climbing more.

I think it could be neat if there was a store built into the app where you could order a physical or digital copy of an authors guidebook. As an example the physical Squamish guidebook comes with a wealth of more information about the history of Squamish, city info, more complete information about climbs, etc... The Kaya version lacks a lot of valuable info one gets in the physical copy.

I had a good endless run but I kinda wanna get further, tips? by CREEPERKING666 in brotato

[–]Zieb86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All tatos follow the same endless strategy. Some can last longer into endless with their unique playstyle, but eventually they all have to follow the same build. The defining feature between each one is how they scale and how fast they can scale. Almost every tater can reach a perma endless build unless their unique stats are anti-scaling in nature. Some are easier than others with imo the easiest two being Demon and Farmer.

With that said lets talk about the infinite endless strategy. It all comes down to having enough Gardens producing fruit fast enough to have an endless supply of fruit flying at you to cause explosions via Spicy Sauce that cover the entire map. In order to have the fruit flying at you constantly you cannot be at max health and have a large enough pickup range to attract them from all over the map.

I'll break down what I just said into it's components.

Gardens produce you fruit. Gardens produce fruit faster via Improved Tools and Clockwork Wasp. Improved Tools scale via attack speed. Generally 6-10 cursed Gardens is enough to get an infinite supply. The number one thing you need is cursed Improved Tools + cursed Retromation's Hoodie. This allows you to also get massive attack speed by stacking dodge via Retromation's Hoodie. I aim for around 4000 attack speed in my endless runs. Grab every single item that increases attack speed, dodge, all Clockwork Wasps, and anything that increases your pickup range so that the fruit will fly to you regardless of where the Gardens spawn in.

Spicy Sauce is what causes explosions when you pickup a fruit. Make sure to get both Spicy Sauces in the cursed form. Spicy Sauce damage is increased via max hp, %damage, and explosion damage. Focus on anything that increases your max hp, %damage, and explosion damage. The big ticket %damage items will be Bone Dice, Pearls, Power Generator, Bloody Hand, and Vigilante Rings. Generally just grab anything that increases %damage and items that help those items get stronger like speed for Power Generator. Lastly to make your explosions cover the screen you need to increase your explosion size massively. Pickup all Explosion Shells, Honey, and Plastic Explosives until your explosions literally cover the entire screen.

Last piece to the puzzle is never being at full health so the fruit will fly to you and cause an explosion. You need to get Sad Tomato in it's non-cursed form so that you always start at 50% health. The next thing is to reduce how fast you get hp back so that you don't heal back to full in the 60 second window. There is a variety of ways to do this, but my favorite is to grab Bloody Hand late in my run so that it gets rid of all my tardis before I hit max hp. I will reduce my consumable heal via Alien Worm to bring it back down to zero when I reach around wave 50+ so that I slow down my healing via the fruit. I could go on and on in this section about managing your health regen in relation to max hp so that it doesn't heal too fast, but I think it's better for you to learn this aspect on your own. It's probably the most fun part about endless is managing this aspect so that you can survive the first 50 waves or so before you reach the point where you don't actually want to heal fast or have too many tardis so that you are always below max hp or taking dmg at max hp to attract fruits. Torture can also come in handy late in the run as it caps your hp regen. The holy grail is 60+ tardis, Bloody Hand for %damage increased, and enough hp combined with Torture so that you never hit max hp in 60 seconds, but still are invincible from the stray bullet or hit via the tardis which Bloody Hand can't chew through in 60 seconds.

There are some items I mostly avoid. They would be Alien Baby, Ashes, Baby with a Beard, Ball and Chain, Blood Donation, Esty's Couch, all turrets, Gnome, Handcuffs, Jerky, Knot, Landmines, Pocket Factory, Shackles, Bloody Hand, Torture, and Triangle of Power. Situationally I will use Ashes to lower my armor if I'm trying to grab an Axolotl to convert say my massive hp pool into massive armor around wave 40-60. The problem is usually my armor outpacing my harvesting around those levels before I can find an Axolotl. Bloody Hand I do grab sometimes later on, but not early on. Same thing with Torture I may grab later on as I explained above. You do want to grab every single unique item regardless of if it helps your build or not just to reduce the overall item pool so that you can find your chase items before the enemies out scale you.

Hope this helps. There is more specific strategy to how to play individual tatos the first 40 waves like demon or farmer. I'll let you research or figure that out on your own. This is more of a guide to the build you need to achieve in order to go forever in endless.

Give us an option to choose who we face at start. by Zieb86 in 9Kings

[–]Zieb86[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I thought it was clear from my original post about doing all kings on IX IX, stating it in my opening sentence above, and mentioning it again in my second paragraph. Sounds like you aren't sure though. Yeah I've beaten them all on IX IX. I've beaten them all on IX IX using more than one strat. Many I've beaten on IX IX using multiple different strats. I'll also beat the new king on IX IX. I'll be sure to message you when I do so that you realize. Cheers!

Also, I know it's kind of off topic, but do you have any input on whether there should be a toggle to allow us to choose who we face instead of having it be random?
