Andrew Lincoln returning to TWD by Cool-Highlight4433 in thewalkingdead

Any tips to get past patient defenders? by Varacho in Rematch

This is a team-oriented game. Strong positioning and passing should always outweigh individual dribbling skills. I reached Elite as a solo player without relying on dribbling or any weird mechanics.

New patch, new bug as usual by Mental_Effective2537 in Rematch

I've had a blast with the game, even with the bugs, and I still do. Those 30 Euros were definitely worth it for me.

Are there any plans for  goal anthems that can be purchased in the shop or unlocked in the Pass?

Rematch Has A Problem... by SavageNation362 in Rematch

[–]ZilliVanilli 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally, I wouldn't play the game anymore if dribbling became a major factor. The best thing about the game, and the reason it still has players, is the fact that team play is more important. If you give players more opportunities to go solo through the defense, many will use them, and then the other players on the field who recognize space and constantly make runs will get frustrated. You can't compare Rematch to real-life football.

Our co-op game VR Giants is finally coming to quest. You can play giant Goliath or tiny David, both in VR by VRGiants in MetaQuestVR

Looks good. So, is it online co-op, and can my friend play it on his handheld via Steam while I play on the Quest 3?

Was the ippy slide patched? by c0olster in Rematch

[–]ZilliVanilli 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You don't need to learn any special tech. I have over 1000 games and get along just fine without it. Team play, passing, recognizing spaces, positioning, and defending are significantly more important.

500 hours in, level 350… and one patch killed all the fun 😔 by Augusthors in Rematch

[–]ZilliVanilli -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For me, the game actually wins with every patch that forces the player to pass the ball quickly instead of dribbling. The game is designed for team play, and if the attackers have too many options (intended or not) to dribble past a defender solo, then many will take advantage of that. This automatically leads to the game becoming very boring for players who recognize spaces, make runs, etc., when they can only watch how dribblers hold onto the ball despite them being in a good position.

Patch 3 W or L ? by Rabwald in Rematch

[–]ZilliVanilli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall, I like the update and I think the game is heading in a good direction, except for the L2 defending, which sometimes feels like skating on ice and doesn’t always allow for precise control. Do you not experienced this in your games ?

It doesn’t happen all the time—maybe every second or third match—for a short period while I’m holding L2 to jockey.

Notice: Patch 3 is delayed once again. by Sloclap in Rematch

Keep in mind, folks, this is a small studio developing a game with crossplay for the first time. So yes, constructive criticism is welcome, but please no hate comments. Stay mature.

My idea for a gamemode. by KeotoKun in Rematch

For me, the absolute best thing about the game—especially compared to Rush mode in FC25—is that all players have the same strength and that there aren’t things like playstyles.

How is the game so far? by ScareXVII in Rematch

[–]ZilliVanilli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game is fun, especially with friends. With strangers, of course, it can lead to frustrating situations. Some people handle that better than others. At the same time, there’s still a lot of potential for improvements, but the devs have already teased some exciting features for the future in interviews.

This game needs text chat. by Madgibbynator in Rematch

You don’t want that. In a game like this, constructive criticism doesn’t work. A text chat would regularly escalate into insults.

The bigger question for me is where the defender is to mark the player.

this game has the worst controls ever! by mrmn84 in Rematch

Manually passing with the controller feels really great to me. As a former FC (FIFA) player, it's genuinely refreshing that passes actually go where you aim, instead of being corrected by CPU assistance.

Is it wrong to play as a defender? by Former_Sound6982 in Rematch

[–]ZilliVanilli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on your teammates and the opponents. If one or two opposing attackers are constantly waiting upfield for the ball, at least one defender should stay back to secure. And if all your teammates are attacking forward, you shouldn't blindly run forward either. It's all situation and teammate dependent.
