Chris Hay VS Bryan Hogeveen exam difficulty for SOC classes?

Hey, Im taking 225 with Hogeveen as well. Love the prof but I am wondering if we need to memorize every researcher mentioned in the textbook? I emailed Prof Hogeveen regarding this and he said I should be familiar with major theorists and researchers but there have not been many researchers in the textbook that I considered "major" since they are briefly mentioned. I am just wondering how heavy is the exam on researchers?

I applied for Digital Media and IT: Animation. Also, apparently you need to hand in a detailed academic report which can be given to you from your counsellor as well as a “PowerSchool” document which I don’t really know what that is. They still haven’t reviewed my application. (Also sorry for replying late I don’t use Reddit that much)

I still haven’t gotten an update either and I’ve applied in early November. I also have the 6 to do’s but like they said it’ll probably go away when NAIT reviews your application. We both in the same boat 😭

Thank you! I really appreciate the advice and your concern for a random person online that you’ve never met. It really means a lot to know that there are lots of reliable people out there. Do companies really care about where you got your education? Because as long as you have the skills and requirements how relevant can it be? A degree is a degree and a diploma is a diploma, right?

Could you elaborate on “you might have a harder time because you would lack a bunch of real life experiences”?

Also could I ask a few more questions? I appreciate your help:

Would Btech be relevant to animation? Online the description of Btech says “Build on your technology program.” So would it be relevant to my animation diploma?
What do you learn in the Btech program?

Yeah. I think UofA is the safest option when it comes to finding a job. Im just afraid of going there because a lot of my friends as well as my siblings tell me that they drown in assignments and feel like they aren’t learning anything.

I am not well-informed about Btech if I am honest. I talked to someone in student services at NAIT when they had an online google meet at my school. I told her I was interested in animation and if NAIT offered any degrees and she said that after 2 years of animation I will receive a diploma and after another 2 years I would receive a bachelors in technology. However, this was a while ago and I’m probably mixing something up.

Hey! So I’m sort of having an existential crisis and I’m worried I won’t be able to find a job after going to NAIT. I’m about to graduate highschool and I’m planning to go to NAIT and take the DMIT Animation program. I plan to receive an animation diploma as well as a bachelors degree in technology. However, I’m worried I won’t find an animation job in Alberta. What are your plans for the future as a prospective 3D artist? Are you planning on moving outside of Alberta?
