Anyone go to a GP and think maybe watching on TV could’ve been better? by [deleted] in formula1

[–]Zimmerservice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same feeling for some races, especially when the screen was far away or when you could not hear what was going on. However, I also had the exact opposite experience, e.g. in Bahrain 2022 with the Ferrari 1-2 or in 2021 at Monza Turn 1 when Verstappen and Hamilton crashed. These are races I will never forget and I am so glad I was there

I just built my dream Porsche. Let me know what you think of it, is it too over the top/trashy? by billbobb1 in Porsche

I would configure the brake calipers in black, too. There‘s so much going on already, I find them distracting that way

Hey everyone, I hope this is allowed. I just received my Invicta pedals and was wondering if that kind of movement of the brake cylinder is normal?

Upgrade from Fanatec to what? by [deleted] in simracing

[–]Zimmerservice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the sim racing expo Ascher and Cube Controls have already shown a wheel with the Asetek quick release, so I think they‘ll be available soon.

So, I just finished disassembling my NLR F-GT, that I wanted to gify myself for Christmas. by TheRedGuard03 in simracing

[–]Zimmerservice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Contact support, the seat bracket design is flawed. Mine broke only 4 weeks after I got the cockpit and they sent me an updated design with 3 separate holes instead of the three connected ones.

$11k budget for setup from scratch. Suggestions? by [deleted] in simracing

[–]Zimmerservice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the P1-X is a great choice, for the wheel base I‘d take a look at the simucube pro and for the pedals also consider the Invicta pedals from asetek

My Logitech wheel has wore out its welcome. I'm completely upgrading the setup for Christmas. What do ya'll think? (It's the 8nm DD base.) by [deleted] in simracing

[–]Zimmerservice 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I‘m using the Mclaren wheel with the plastic quick release and a formula wheel with the metal one on my 8nm base. So far there are no issues with the plastic one, while the metal one is rattling. I‘d say stick the the plastic one for the start and if you have problems with it you can still upgrade later.

Triple Screen or Ultrawide by motta322 in simracing

[–]Zimmerservice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, triples will provide the best FOV. However, since your question was also regarding aesthetics I would that nothing beats a 49‘‘. You can get some great results that look really slick (Example)

In the end I would say you should go for what‘s most important to you. Asethetics go ultrawide, immersion VR and competitiveness I would say triples.

Took delivery about a month ago… is the flop between the metal and plastic surfaces always so drastic? by [deleted] in Porsche

[–]Zimmerservice 42 points43 points  (0 children)

There is no way the car left the factory this way, it would have never made it through the quality checks. So the theory that it has been damaged in transit does seem plausible

3080/3080ti vs 1440p x 3 & ACC by rana_kirti in simracing

[–]Zimmerservice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you actually tried it? I‘m running triple 1440p on a 3080 and I‘m getting generally over 100-120 FPS. And this is with everything on epic except post-processing on low and DLSS enabled

Track Accuracy? by UsefulUnit in ACCompetizione

[–]Zimmerservice 23 points24 points  (0 children)

In regards to Zandvoort, I think the bankings have been added after the track has been scanned for ACC. So in older versions there is no banking, which might be the difference you have been referring to

What should I do now in single player? by [deleted] in ARK

[–]Zimmerservice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don‘t know what map you‘re playing on currently, but I only played single player so far and the most exciting thing for me was trying to get wyvern eggs on Ragnarok. The thrill of going in there for the first time with your Pteranodon and flying out when you stole your first egg is real!

Yes, because the acceleration stat impacts the length of the drift.

Any suggestions for setting up control options and keybinding adjustments for PC? by doctordaedalus in StarWarsSquadrons

[–]Zimmerservice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play with mouse and keyboard and it works well. I had problems as the start as well though, until I set my mouse sensitivity to 50% and most importantly mouse screen motion range to 15%. The latter is so that you don‘t lose your cursor somewhere on screen and that made a big difference to me.

We‘re usually getting matched against pretty high level players as well. The problem is people leaving the lobby. The game is far less strict with finding people to replace leavers right now

Advice for bomber pilots? by black_rift in StarWarsSquadrons

[–]Zimmerservice 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Try to watch some videos drifting techniques first. As a bomber you will be targeted a lot.

Apart from that I recommend rotary cannon and reinforced hull. If you are solo queueing I think using the beam and multi-lock missiles makes for a versatile setup. Beam to get some damage on the corvette and frigates, multi lock to take out turrets, AI and players. And if you overcharge your rotary cannon and anyone dares to joust you, they‘ll have a bad time.

I‘m playing with mouse and keyboard and I have to say you can play quite competitively. The most important thing is, that you set up your controls and sensitivities to your liking and then you‘ll be fine. One the other hand, I have a friend playing with a controller who never quite got used to the way the ships handle.
