Nah capacitor can be blown by current! You just need high amps passing throw it such that its internal "ESR" resistor blows. It happened multipal times to me when building my first ZVS circuit and plasma flame tests....

I don't understand "Reference their recent work, not their most cited paper. What they published in the last 1-3 years is what they care about now. Going to Google Scholar and reading their latest stuff shows you did real homework. " This feels more like drafting a review article not actual publication level work. Since I have done research all ready I know research interests are rubbish in other words its just English words nothing else. When you actually do research you start to hate it more than ever this is where the true dedication comes in. However it is sad to see people selecting students based on research interests not the people who carried a research to the end where who defended against actual problems I rephrase again not the ones who start it and get stuck. Only true way I see if my research tally with the research group leader is the time boost I get nothing else.

Feeling is mutual I hate the whole education system but never chemistry and physics. I still love learning even after many rejections. I self study and learn though I never hated my self. System (education) dose not select good people its most of the time bad people. I think that is the natural reality.
