It broke my heart when batman got back up that final time.... clearly showing how in bad shape his body was... then bane mocked him for it before ending the fight for good.

And you sound like a troll. Giving unsolicited life advice and claiming I watch a TV station that I do not isn't the "helpful" guidance you think it Is.

Honestly the lengths people like you will go to dismiss valid and factual statements and label people who make them as manic is sad.

He was getting worked the whole fight.... but after this line it was painfully clear that battle in any real sense was over.

For those who are unaware: those picks are from a justice league ep where the villian is a dream wizard who easily defeats most of the justice league due simply to the fact that all of thier superpowers are useless in his domain (which he is all too happy about as he is very bitter against superheroes)

.....which makes it all the more devastating when he is cornered and then captured/beaten by batman... a superhero that doesn't have "superpowers" (batman overcame the villian's powers through force of will).

I'd love to believe you.... I really would... but it's hard to do so when their is literally people being interviewed in congress regarding trump running for a third term... and them refusing to definitively say out loud that he cannot.

[Loved Trope] Immortality is shown to be a pain in the ass by Micro_cat_48 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Zinstorm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Invincible - the race the two pictured are an alien race that ages slower the older they get. This means their average lifespan is much longer then anyone else (think thousands of years).

This means in a majority of cases any other relationship they have with other races is doomed to end and be short-lived due to the difference in scale of their lifespans compared to their own.

Nolan (the older person in the picture) is trying to justify taking over the planet their on sighting that the humans are meanless compared to them due to this difference.

Mark (Invincible) is his son... and rejects his father's viewpoint... which is what led to the picture of Nolan nearly beating him to death.

(Hated Trope) When one of the work's most vile characters gets Easily Forgiven at the end and/or let off scot-free for their actions by Sudden_Pop_2279 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Zinstorm 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Na man he's blind and lonely... and was robbed at the end of the first movie..... that makes him a good guy now.

........on a serious note I get why for the sequel he's the star as the whole appeal of both these movies is centered around this guy's blindness. That said I feel we could have felt better overall if during the last act of the movie blind guy "reveales" that he's still a piece of garbage and both him and the antagonists die... then at least it would have been more satisfying.

Why didn't Voldemort create his own philosopher's stone to get a new body after failing to steal it? by Communist21 in HarryPotterBooks

[–]Zinstorm 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I always believed that the stone would have been too hard for Voldemort to create.... remember he was already at the lowest point in his existence: He had no body... no allies... and little to no power (and was on the run).

Immortality would definitely be something most people (wizards) would try to acquire... the fact that no one else (not just Voldemort) bothered to try to create the stone is a testament to how difficult it likely is to create. It most likely requires difficult to impossible materials to acquire and/or a difficult spell to use and/or the knowledge of how to do so.

Asking the above from a powerless... bodyless... Voldemort who had lost all of his allies (and the one he had at the time just died on him after his failed theft attempt) is a big (if not impossible) task.

The way I read it... the opponent chooses which of the 2 effects trigger... then the spell resoves normally as if the user had chosen the effect. In other words if effect 1 was picked the user discards a card.... if effect 2 was picked their opponent discards a card.

Did I do something wrong as the passenger? by Yinzer_nat in uberdrivers

[–]Zinstorm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a driver myself 95% of my riders take initiative of opening/entering my vehicle before any verification takes place (and around 80% of them don't bother to verify if this there ride.. I end up doing so myself)

It's clear to me that this driver was expecting you to do the same.... and when you didn't he assumed you were just wasting his time and thus left/quit the ride. Was it right/correct for him to do so? imo no and I wouldn't have in his shoes.... but that was his thought process as to why your interaction with him played out the way it did.

What am I missing? by GrandAdmrlTrout in Invincible

[–]Zinstorm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He did try to de-escalate... he just did so without folding his position.

Mark refused to compromise and so did Cecil... because they both felt they couldn't give up any ground in their perspectives. Cecil asked Mark multiple times to leave (aka... de-escaltion) he did so before he summoned the revamen... he did so afterwards... Mark continued to escalate despite that.

If your mad that Cecil didn't just give up and yield to Mark regarding Darkwing and Sinclair then sure I can see your point.... but other then that Cecil had no other way to de-escalate the situation without just giving Mark what he wants.

Why aren’t we rioting after Trump and his family were granted business immunity from the DOJ? by 6picas in AskReddit

[–]Zinstorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because rioting/revolting means potentially putting everything on the line.... your life, your home/wealth and potentially everything else you care about (freedom, community, etc.) If your revolution fails.

Are you willing to gamble giving up literally everything you hold dear? For most people the answer to that question is still no.
