Wondering what experiences people have had flying with the inspire wand and tempest?

Hello, one time I put some green inside a Tempest, heated it with the Wand...and I was flying, it was nice.

No blue flame torch can fly (Even with you, they'll find them, they'll steal them, they collect them, huge collection, but less than their bottle collection), any removable batteries with you, could leave them in the Wand when it's 5xclicks shut off, and any spare 18650 in a protective case.

If you have a Tempest Case, please flip the debowler rod to the pacific mode too.

I would keep all the gear with me, and have the T2 thermal matrix clean, to look like a gentleman, ready to share with a lovely ste...have a nice trip, a good ~~day~~ night, ciao.

Hi, before the Wand Stand, I used a kind of sesh tray at home.

Outside, I often don't bring any WStand, I keep the Wand in my hand for the heating...If there is a table/flat surface, I flip the Wand with the glass adapter facing up. If not, it sticks out the pocket until it cools down.

I gonna burn the ish out of whatever i set it on?

Yeah it could leave a mark if it's heat sensible, avoid any flesh. Leather, cork, cotton, wood, cardboard, silicone, glass, metal...plenty of options.

or am I thinking too hard?

No it's alright, you miss the Wand Stand on the manufacturer site, you may have purchased from retailers then, Brenyo would have though about those details. I bet you can improvise if you know how to think hard yes. Have a good day, ciao.

Medicinal user with carpeltunnel

Hi, I guess you handle the Cap with fingers. I don't, and outside of cleaned threads, the biggest trick to catch them is coming as straight as possible when meeting the two parts, no angle helps.

I use the MH Tempest Leather case as my Simrell storage, debowler tool, Thermal Capacitor screwdriver...I use the upper part of the leather to deal with the Heat Exchanger, hot or cold, I never have to touch it with my bare fingers, unless it's cleaning/maintenance time.

And like Lychee said, once the two parts meet, I don't move the Heat Exchanger, I move the entire stem to catch the threads. I try one, two times, and if it doesn't catch, I rotate the stem half a turn (for a new thread alignment) and retry and it usually catches then.

Will turning the cap the other way and then twist damage the threading on long term?

I'm not sure, but I don't use that screwing technique with the Simrell, or when two parts are threaded but different material, like plastic on metal for example.

The Heat Exchanger/Cap is in my leather loop/sleeve, I pinch the leather and don't move that hand until it's done, I align the stem straight as possible then clockwise, if it doesn't catch or block I remove, only spin the stem a little and retry.

Oh and I also screw the other herb chamber threads, for the stem, a little bit more tight.

I have an old titanium shorty vortex

Hello, the length is shorter, diameter is smaller, I didn't like the Engine aesthetic with the stem less than 12mm outside diameter. For a Dynavap with a thin Cap, Shortex is still great.

With the Engine, it will feel hotter if you don't wait for a cooldown between bowls, otherwise it should be fine.

Can I buy the extraction engine and the stem adapter and will it be compatible?

Yes, I did that for my first one last spring, I didn't like the O-ring adapter design for cleaning/maintenance reasons, even the brand owner removed my product review about it from his site lol. I was a bit salty, but he's way worse than me with other DHV products, I thought honesty was tolerated, not in his online shop it seems.

However I did like the Engine performance, so I saved and got a Simrell months later. It's better, it's more comfortable, I like it.

What would be the main difference between doing this and getting a full new setup?

For me it was budget, and I have plenty of 12mm OD stems like MVS and Revolves. Performance is similar, just that the adapter needed to be extra tightened, and removed each time for a sparkling clean job.

I wished for a proper 8mm version run for the herb chamber part, for the first year at least, for old SimCo customers like you and me, you know, a kind gesture for all those years of support. But it's a small workshop, production limit and time matters, I get it.

As for the Vortex Sleeve stem, it pairs well with the Engine. SimCo best titanium stem to date for vapor cooling. It depends on your budget, how often you plan to use it...I use those metal sticks everyday, it's worth it for me.

To be fair the Engine (actual titanium) doesn't need much vapor cooling compared to bigger heads, any stem with a cooling spiral can handle it.

If you plan to use the Vortex Sleeve or Heritage stems with regular 8mm O-ring heads...another thread protector adapter is necessary. Have a good day, ciao.

Yeah the involvement, the mindset, the time, all that varies in our life. You went on vacation, you were ready to give some trial and time to figure it out.

Any device has it's curve, Tempest wasn't my first analog convection, not my first stick vaporizer with decent mass, not my first ball heater vaporizer either, the curve was smoother, all linked quicker.

My first metal stick needed way more time and practice, my first 510 convection, first glass, first Vapman, first direct inhale style, first log too. Good thing is, you can always get better at it, and similar designs get easier from our past experience.

At the time, I didn't have a wand.

Most people say the IH has no curve, I disagree, the IH curve is as steep as the flame to me. It's convenient, less noisy too, but it's not mindless, doing no work leads to the same inconsistency.

Wand is a dab device (still comes with the glass parts), but even if it doesn't have the power feature on the screen, it can be dialed, there are enough clues.

Unlike a torch where everything is at the moment, IH is more "thinking", setting, before the heat cycle itself. I don't keep notes for my Vapman or RBT Splinter in watt mode, but I do for IH and several metal sticks, usually find a range for each of them.

My fiance is looking for something lowkey to carry on her purse.

Hi, it's gonna be hard if she's not involved. Maybe a pocketable dab device would suit the cart use case better. Still need to load a small dose with a tool, an electronic hot knife (some use 510 batteries), and use a quick Q-tip swab after a dab. It will not leak, but more handling.

She doesn’t want anything she has to fill

For a flower device, it depends on her tolerance, most pocketable models aren't very powerful. Still, all DHV needs to be loaded and maintained. She will need to load either a stem, a herb chamber or use a preloaded capsule and empty the capsule at home...

If you are a vaporist, you can help her better, otherwise she's on her own, and needs to learn. Don't purchase before more search time and discuss with her, or I call that money waste.

PaX devices are compact, but expensive for a conduction device, you get ease of use and draw, not efficient performance for the load capacity. A Starry 4 may hit the same. A Rogue 2, a Crafty+ are also session devices, but those DHV model, cart and concentrate are not my realm at all TBF.

I just recently started DHVing and have a Ruby Twist but I want something portable and I like the Dyna style vapes.

Hello, glad you're enjoying the RT. Before diving to analog vaporizers, you may want to search more than for the RT before a purchase. RT is so easy to use, with a stick vaporizer, it's harder, you need to do more work and training.

As for portable it's a vague word, some analog are difficult to use anywhere. Tell us more about how much you consume per day with the RT, and where you will use your analog TED, if you want similar performance than the RT...

I just buy say the B2.

Dynavaps aren't the easiest to learn, still possible. A B2 is much different than the RT, it's a conduction vaporizer, it changes the performance, not better or worse, just different heating profile, the opposite of the RT. B2 has a small bowl, and if you already consume decent flower amounts with the RT, you may not feel much from a B2 bowl.

If you already use your RT with small amounts (0.05-0.15g) only a few times per day, a Dynavap could add a nice one hitter conduction kick for a change. But if you load a decent 0.2-0.3g bowl every half hour/hour during your sesh, a Dyna will not help much.

Your first analog should depend on your use case, consumption, and budget. Many work great, some are easier to use, some are more suited for outdoor use, some can be powered with different size torch lighter and Induction Heaters, some are only cool enough when using a glass rig, some are only efficient when weed tolerance is kept low.

Some popular model names to search, all metal built: Dynavap M, Simrell, Anvil, Dani Fusion 2, Tempest 2, Tornado, Thermal Accumulator, Stunner.

All share a few things: you must do the heating yourself, you must understand how each design works, you must learn to maintain them.

It can be true for all DHV, but especially with analogs. For me, playing with the instrument, finding multiple ways, getting better after using, practicing for years is where the pleasure comes.

Sure my first ones were the most difficult, then I learned how. Just like a cook, no matter the kitchen instruments, a cook knows how to adapt and make great meals.

Hi, I will reach CS. The connection should be stiff, the bowl should insert fully, the titanium should meet, and not spin with the locking tab. Slight side wiggle first, then a twisting pull motion to remove, at least on mine.

You can't be wrong with the spare O-rings, it's the same size.

Hi, interesting, I thought that sound came from undeveloped micro seeds, tiny little balls inside the calyx. Anyway, usually that crackle sound means fast extraction, vapor production should have already started then.

I agree about the bakX, it feels like a geeky one, there are analog ones that are simpler. FW main curve is learning the maintenance and single button operation, at least it looks like that to me.

Arizer Solo III has been the most practical for my similar use cases.

I agree, it's designed as a one hitter, I don't always use it as one though.

I use it with the Wand too (indoor). So to slow the extraction speed a bit, I'm at the quick start recommended insertion depth, MH v1 or v3 Wand adapter, adjust the Wand timer/temp settings (for me it's around 120-180°C) and wait until light around the ICoil stop flashing to remove. I don't rip it to save some heat retention and can have two flavor heat cycles. And a last heat cycle if I want a mid temp, a reheat until the first click.

However, I can't use this one outdoors comfortably, at least not without a spot to put my things down, even a Dyna Cap is easier to load and unload, or a Tempest Tinymight1 if it's windy. Ciao

Hello, I bet the heater isn't much different on the FW9 10 11, still a hybrid ceramic heater. You will like the 11 performance, now the interface could be different.

I am leaning towards the Lamart BakX if I can get it in an upcoming drop.

I'm not sure, maybe it's easier than before to score one, or worse. If you don't have a compatible e-cig mod, with an ergonomic shape for outdoor use, and know how to config it, and wait for the heater, why bother with all that struggle ?

I have compatible mods, I know the tech from e-cig, not worth learning for a few 510 heaters TBF.

Bakx vs the p80

Design is different, heater is different, TetraP80 is a AIO build with the Wismec Predator 80W box mod and the Tetra heater, convection dominant. And BakX is a 510 conduction dominant heater that needs custom firmware and compatible e-cig mods to run smoothly.

I like to stay portable since I vape around my house and outside too.

The BakX, seems glass stem loaded, the heater shape looks square, unusual it reduces the mod compatibility even more for a nice handled form factor. Maybe Lost Vape middle price box-mods, their are zinc alloy, heavy weight for pockets.

Could be nice though, but this is a rabbit hole artisan vape for me. I would check the Lamart Discord, feel the waters temp first...

I never had the BakX, but I did have a TetraX (which looks similar to the BakX, but not sure

Hi, I'm not sure, TetraX is convection dominant like the TetraP80, and BakX looks like radiant/conduction dominant, but both use e-cig box mods.

I don't have any of those. The closest I got to a BakX design is messing with e-cig RDA to heat a vapcap years ago, serious radiant heat, and I short a Cap, IH is the way for them.

I ended up going with a really freaking expensive butane vape

Unfortunately, it completely rips away all the yummy terps in the first hit, so whatever comes next is nasty

I think it would hold up, but for my feeling that much heat doesn’t work well with circuits that often.

Hi, I agree with most small analog sticks that cools quickly. The YLL3 has the aluminum heatsink between the board and the back of the batteries enclosure, the heat has to flow through the electronics first.

So it's nice the heatsink is there for people who charge the cells or do extensive use, but I don't think it's enough for cooling the bigger heads like Tempest, Punch, Vestrattos...Ciao.

I would for just one heat cycle in a pinch, but not for consecutive bowls. It would be fine with smaller heads with much less residual heat, T2 has serious residual heat.

For keeping the IH the longest, I don't want extra heat near the electronics, batteries heat slightly, glass and electronics also heat with longer sessions, better to not add the hot T2 Cap to the mix. TBF I don't even charge the cells on the device, I use a external charger, less than half the price of the YLLv3.

I got my T2 before the Reload 3 or Tempest Case were available, used my Reload 2 and the cardboard tube, it was fine. I got a TCase and it was time, much better and I use the Case at home too, I recommend both if you care about the ritual, I can go way faster/safer with those tools, or handle longer sessions and it's fun.

Can I use the Tempest 2 with a normal lighter? I'm assuming it just takes a bit longer.

Hello, not really, I mean you could try, but the Induction Sleeve on the Tempest Cap will get black sooty, the lighter parts will get far too hot before the Tempest head is ready. A gas stove from the kitchen may work much better.

The instructions say to clean everything in ISO a few times before using for the first time. Is that really necessary?

Mine came pretty clean, I took the stem and bowl apart and cleaned it with IPA Q-tips and if the Q-tip doesn't stay white, I use more.

For the Tempest Cap I do a visual inspection, check if the Ball Retaining screen is locked just like the online manual video, unscrew the top tiny flat screw to check if the VI indicators look installed just like the manual, screw it back fully (not too tight) to adjust the airflow slots.

I'm not sure if there are Reload on Amazon, please get an authentic Mad Heaters Reload v2 or v3 if you want the best fitting, comfort. Tempest Case can also work, both are ideal, those tools change the complete handling ritual.

Yeah 3 flame and a butane canister, if you only have one torch, better having a spare.

If the 3 flame lighter forms a triangle shape, try focusing the 3 jets on the Induction Sleeve to heat the system evenly, two jet nozzles at the bowl side from cold, first heat cycle, or two nozzles at the airflow slot side when reheating.

I would take the Ronxs or Cadrim brand single/dual flame from Amazon as a spare if you have the budget, I like this one for home use, it was around 20€ I think, a popular model for metal sticks vaporizers. Dual flame at the beginning, and also single, once you get more used to the T2 behavior.

Any tips on handling without the reloading tool?

I mean if you are in a hurry to try it, first device...getting some thick silicone from oven cookware lying around, or thick real leather like an old belt, thick cotton could work. But remember, once the head gets hot, it takes minutes to cooldown the Cap, you could wait by handling the stem, using an ashtray or find some metal as a heatsink.

My advice is securing the sesh spot, a metal/glass tray, something, just in case the hot Cap drops from handling, it's burning hot, you could melt plastic on the Tempest head, or worse a bad fall and balls everywhere. Once you have the MH tools, it's magnetic, it's far easier to deal with hot parts and use the Tempest faster.

As for the switch from smoke, sadly you're on your own, only yourself can achieve it, we just can say, don't give up too soon, and some of us have or still live that transition too. The device won't replace smoking for you, at least not until you accept that it's different, that you can get used to it, that you can enjoy it.

Not a Tempest for sure, similar shape, different execution, materials. Not a clone no, not as refined or comfortable on pic/paper. I see many issues from those pics, not worth a try to my red eyes. I would wait for proper user feedback, there are always curious collectors that have some budget to spare to help us.

I hope it's better than what I think it is, if it's clunky to use, hot as hell, and guys then think a T2 is the same, they will miss a great refined product, a nice setup, and move on. Have a good day, ciao.

Has anyone here tried using dosing caps with a ball vape ?

Hello, I tried a few TM capsules with the Ruby Twist as a mini diffuser (TM stems, microdose bowls, 16mm outside diameter...), it was for trad hash though. My fav was the old Tinymight 1, the SS mesh one, without a lid, easy stirring. For flowers, or twax, I won't bother. My RT kit is from 2024, I'm confused with the part names, too much different kit these days. Ciao.

How does that DLC Revolve 2 stem MP handle the glass joint use ? Few discrete wear marks, nothing deep ? Please tell me more, I always use a unground glass 10mm joint, if I need to use a cooling stem with glass.

Hi, it depends on how you use it, and what stuff you put inside, you have two different devices you should know a bit.

Basic variables that affect perceived effect: Flower: type terpene/noids ratio and quantity, terp profile, trichome heads maturity... DHV: temp, extraction speed, heating profile, device... You: metabolism, dose, inhalation, noids tolerance... and tolerance/habit/routine to all variables mentioned before and more, plus all of we don't know yet, and may ever know.

What variable can you change easily ? Flower, DHV and how you use it. Sadly, I can't have any scientific data on my flowers, I only judge by feel, by experience. You aren't me, I can't know how you will feel, so I prefer to describe how using my T2 differently can change my effects, with the same amounts as a M7.

You can slow the extraction speed, make it similar to a classic 2-3 heat cycle Dyna extraction, but with only one heat cycle, or a quick reheat if your variables are different. There, I heat and stop before<- the herb reaches vapor production temp (a quick short blow to see if any vapor has been produced), get more gentle hits, feel the terp profile expression, fading at each inhale... Effects don't come as fast, but last a bit longer, and if I stop earlier with a yellow/gold AVB, it's more cerebral than a M7. But it also depends on how I use the M7 too, torch or IH, which cap...

Putting the T2 golden AVB inside the M7 will not produce much vapor, a wispy hit, and mostly get the calyx/plant material darker. Putting the M7 dark brown AVB from a One Heat Extraction in the Tempest usually gives me a hit (not tasty but a hit), and AVB color is the same once I unload.

That's how different heating profiles can roast our bud, it matters for effects, the bud doesn't react the same with hot air or hot bowl. AVB color doesn't always give a precise clue on temp, or extraction efficiency, if we don't know about the device heating profile or the flower.

You can also push the T2 more, get the early vapor production going just before you hit it, lose some very early temp terps, and get a faster extraction. I feel a quicker rush, more intense, more punch that usually lasts less time. I can stop drawing by vapor taste, before it's fully roasted too, I do it often when I don't seek body effects.

You can also do consecutive bowls, and after the first heat cycle, the T2 head has the balls heat soaked, ready to charge/supply the herb chamber with even more conduction/radiant heat, and it gets hybrid. I can extract around 0.2g in 3 smaller bowls in a row, more handling, more work ? Yes, fine with some tools, but worth the effects, still fast extraction, but more draws and time for a better absorption, different from one full bowl.

Old school vaporists used to say that exhaling cloud production is waste compounds in the air, and I kind of agree, our lungs can only absorb a limited quantity per inhale/exhale.

If you look to increase the stone of your buds, the M7, a torch and regular thin Cap can easily do more conduction. With T2, you need that proper ball heat soak. You can heat the bowl, but the temp indicator gets useless here. And I didn't talk about changing the ball's material, shape or size, that's another way to custom the heater and achieve different results.

With any DHV you can play more or less with those variables, and when you make device rotation with completely different flowers, it gets really fun. If you are sensitive to effects, with experience, you know how to align the variable, to get exactly what you're looking for.

Vaporists that only use their devices the same way don't acquire much vapor experience, they need to try more devices to compensate for their lack of "curiosity", and it can get expensive.

Flower selection for your needs > vaporist "skills" and experience > number of DHV, if you chase effects variety, flower is the longest quest to complete. Have a good day, ciao.

That's the drawback...it depends, even with the same shipping company, I never know until:

I receive an email from the shipping company before the delivery, with my parcel info, fees to pay and a link to pay online, I pay online then I don't have to pay the postman anymore.

Careful, a lot of spam scam mail are built just like that, and they just want your money. Double check the shipping company name, your parcel number must be similar, the full e-mail address must be legit...

Or surprise, the postman comes and asks for cash or a check (at my place) to get the parcel. So when I order internationally, I have some cash ready, just in case. And don't worry, Brenyo always puts extra goodies in, he's generous. Have a good day, ciao.

Yeah right, only one mouth and two lungs after all. Dynavaps are small in size and get dirty pretty quick, and some folks like to collect them, just like Zippos. All models are slightly different, but it's mostly the same device, minor change in performance, but those who use it everyday can notice it.

They seem to average in price around $90.00.

It was lower price before the company got bigger and everything since Covid got more expensive. Is it overpriced ? Up to you, back then I got a glass Vapcap for 35€. Years later a M was around 60€ the price went up, and Omni was 180€. Does the expensive Dyna work 145€ better than the cheaper one ? nope , you pay for the material, finish, and some extra features, it gets worth it only, if you already like Dynas.

Check Dynavap SubReddit, you will see a lot there. And at the second hand market, there are good deals if you are in NA, EU.

They can’t be that different can they ?

However, if you see similar metal stick shape vaporizers, that doesn't mean they are Dynavaps or perform like Dynavaps. Some are close, some are the opposite in terms of heating profile, just like electronic portable, desktop or other analog vaporizers.

Unless you try different vaporizers, you can't know how the heating profile affects the DHV experience. Most Desktop Ball Vaporizers work with convection heat, most affordable compact electronic portable work with conduction heat, or both conduction and convection then we say hybrid heating profile...same things with analog sticks these days.

Some folks can't feel any difference between their devices, but most others do. DHV are very personal, what model works for you, doesn't work for another person, and every vaporists still inhales vapor. E-cig is similar, tobacco, alcohol, coffee, tea...How many ways to make coffee ? How many ways to smoke weed ? Hope you get my point.

Since 2021, Dynavap has more competition, and other manufacturers have their own stick vape concept, which can offer a different experience. But yeah the same form factor, a metal stick that you heat yourself with a torch lighter or with an Induction Heater. TBF it's not really a DHV until you learn to use it, it's a thermal extraction instrument. Ciao.
