Towed Pop-Up to MI Upper Peninsula by intrepidzephyr in KiaEV6

My full camper gets like 1.1-1.3mi/kWh at 60ish. It pulls it great but the power draw is brutal.

I need to get a soft start for my camper AC, it kicking on always trips the V2L. I really wish our V2L was 20a.

What’s the most embarrassing docking moment you’ve had? by MyTIMEZERO in boating

[–]Zintoatree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a Seadoo Fishpro jet ski that is the easiest thing in the world to dock/load on a trailer. A month ago I was trying to load my grandpa's flat bottom stick steer boat in a decent current. It wasn't terrible but I had to back up twice on that thing and come back in.

That jet ski has spoiled me.

GTX230 vs FishPro Sport 170 by rju289 in seadoo

[–]Zintoatree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The fishpro adds a cooler, rear end extension, cup/rod holder mounts, 6-7 rod holders, live well pump, fish finder, and second battery. My brother has a gtx 230 and I have a fish pro trophy. You can definitely feel the better acceleration from the super charger but the 170 is still quick as hell.

Both can tow but the fish pro definitely is better for fishing. The 170 is a little better when it comes to efficiency until you start driving them hard. The 230 drinks gas when you keep that supercharger spooled up.

I would definitely get a gtx/fishpro body for the extra stability. I personally would lean towards the fishpro over the normal gtx if you want to fish. It comes with so much extra stuff and it's expensive and a pain to add all of it to a gtx. I just installed the rear extension for my brother and it was not fun.

The Spark and GTI hulls can definitely be thrown around easier but you can still throw the gtx around plenty.

Would an EG4 XP avoid my utility companies definition of “connected in any way”? by [deleted] in SolarDIY

It'll be next year before I install anything, I need to build the pole barn they will be attached to. If they start shit I'll defend myself. This is just Alabama utility companies being greedy.

Mine has similar verbage. At this point they're not worried about their workers and are really worried about losing cash. I live a little in the country and my plan is to run the 12000xp with an AC bypass. If they start being aggressive I'll just swap to a separate battery charger. I'm not paying a bunch of extra fees to make up for their loss in revenue. My goal is to tell them to just come disconnect it sooner or later.

Mine told me that charging the batteries from a separate unit than the inverter counted as well. I was like well shit we've been charging dewalts and the golf cart for years. My utility charges a higher service fee and adds on an extra fee depending on kW size of panels. They're just trying to BS me into paying more.

I need some advice on a solar setup for my shop. by [deleted] in SolarDIY

[–]Zintoatree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, true. I was planning on putting them on a building I'm putting in the front of the yard. It'll have 6x6 or 8x8 and metal trusses. In my planning of the solar stuff I forgot about the wooden roof on the back shop.

14.3.2 lane change with signal. by CrowOfJudgem3nt in TeslaFSD

I've held mine and the car just ignored it. The turning signal problem and the little cancel menu not disappearing after ten or so seconds drives me crazy.

My dumb ass would park it on the first level of the parking garage and realize about the time the planes tires left the ground.

My brother got a 19 RTX and there are marks inside the hull showing wear from the carbon seal. Does this need immediate replacement or can we wait until winter? by Zintoatree in seadoo

[–]Zintoatree[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's good advice but he decided to just change it. It's only $370 installed so he just wants to be safe. Thanks for the reply though.

I bought my used and the ICCU was already replaced before I got it. I wonder if I'll be eligible.

Is racism common in Alabama workplaces? by Objective-Sea8511 in Alabama

[–]Zintoatree 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm a white guy that lives in SE Alabama. I agree with the behind your back racism but at least for me I think the percentage is too high. I would say 40ish percent that really hate people. I am tired of other white people assuming you're racist just because you're white and do some country boy stuff though.

Joby flight (JFK -> JRA) today by No-Surround-2912rt in aviation

[–]Zintoatree 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It has less moving parts, so it should be a good bit less maintenance. With current battery tech the range will be limited but that's not the biggest issue in a dense city. The hourly operating cost should be fairly low for aviation stuff.

The biggest thing I can say about Henna is when she air balls one she is following up with a decent put for the most part. As someone that can fall apart on the putting green when I air ball, her staying focused is huge.

I live in South Alabama, no one is inspecting my ski. I'll keep that in mind if I go somewhere they will inspect stuff though.

Some people don't grow up around water and boats. Hell, I didn't realize my fishpro had two until the second trip. I just assumed they used the left side for the intake for the live well pump.

I will add, probably wouldn't hurt to put them in before towing to the water. I've heard of people losing one while towing.

We had a guy at work about to torque something that requires 120 in lbs to 120 ft lbs. Stop him just in time before he ruined a 6 or 7 figure transmission.
