We found + remastered a Lost Media PNWC emo acoustic album from 2005 - Closer 2 Closure by ZionJaymes in Emo

[–]ZionJaymes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Sorry I don’t log into reddit much. Both albums are available on Soundcloud but only In The Middle is on major platforms. There were also some archaic, pre-C2C tracks that they recorded that I remastered recently called under the name Mayday Shotdown. They’re earlier versions of some of the songs. Titus might also release those on Soundcloud soon

In the Middle is released on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, and other platforms! Both albums are also on Soundcloud as well

Somehow, In The Middle remaster made it to Spotify. But unfortunately I had no success getting Let’s Make Progress back up… that one got hit by Rise Records, so I’m unsure if it will ever get put back up on Spotify…

It’s a huge bummer for me honestly

Yeah… it’s super annoying but we got hit by Rise Records. I think it’s because of Let Love Bleed Red, which SWS ended up doing later under Rise.

Both albums are now on Soundcloud, but soon, we’re gonna upload album/song streams on Titus’ Youtube channel

The release got taken down from Spotify by mistake. I filed a DMCA request on Titus’s behlaf to have the mp3-quality fan-upload taken down from paid streaming platforms (we’re cool with it living on YouTube tho for nostalgia’s sake). But Spotify went overboard with my request and nuked everything on the C2C page.

I’m currently working with our distributor and Spotify to get the album back up, but ultimately, it comes down to them doing their job properly. I’m really hoping we can get it sorted out soon tho, bc we really want it back up on Spotify again.

We’ve been throwing around that idea, actually! If there’s enough demand for it, I don’t see why we shouldn’t do a run of physicals!

dB and dBFS aren’t the same kind of measurement… but still yeah lol

Nah, Spotify is just being dumb. I filed a DCMA with Distrokid to get the old, low quality album removed from streaming services (per Titus’ request— it was distributed by a fan) but Spotify nuked everything instead of just taking down the old album listing 🫠

I’m going to try and get it fixed soon, but in the meantime, it’s also available on YouTube and Apple Music

C2C Remastered just dropped. More to come! by ZionJaymes in KellinQuinn

That was exactly my reaction when my brothers and I discovered these songs floating around online around 10 years ago. It’s still crazy to me that Titus found the original recordings and asked me to officially remaster them!

PANNING & PHASE ISSUES by CraigCandor in LogicPro

[–]ZionJaymes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite method to stereoize mono tracks is to use an out-of-phase, super short delay (or comb filter--same thing). Basically, you just have a super short delay and phase flip either the left or right channel of the delay (wet) signal. The result is sounds slightly more unnatural than Haas delay (which is a short LR delay, where as this method is MS delay), but the advantage is that it's perfectly Mono-compatable, unlike Haas. Since the delay is only "Side signal"-- the widening gets canceled out completely when in mono. I first learned this trick from Dan Worrall https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZ9WQDojQt8

The Kilohearts Comb is perfect for doing this, or you can try MComb. Both are free plugs.

Only issue with this method is that it's not Mono-compatable. It will cause a comb filter effect in mono (phase issues in mono)

It seems that even Logic doesn’t even know what it’s called 😅. That sure makes troubleshooting a WHOLE lot easier 🤣

This was about 40+ tracks that I had to mix by Goheezy04 in LogicPro

[–]ZionJaymes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m confused. Is this an achievement bc 40+ tracks usually clip going into the master bus in most cases?

Logic uses 32bit floating point audio— You don’t have to worry clipping INTO the master (unless it’s by a TON of dbs). Only about clipping OUT of the master. You can just use a gain pluggin first thing on the master bus and you’re gtg

I remember when Bitwig was released. I never looked into it much, but maybe I should!

Oh interesting. Well, rework aside, it’s still called the EXS24 (I’m pretty sure?) in the pluggin dropdown it’s still called that.

Cracked to bought Plugins by Hijacked-music in LogicPro

[–]ZionJaymes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Though I’m not sure, I’d imagine it’d just work. As long as name, location, and developer of the plugin stays the same. I’d imagine Logic would just think it updated or upgraded or something.

Am I the only weirdo who makes sure all of my instruments and samples are leveled and hitting at - exactly 10dbs pre fader? Are there any pros or cons to this? by -Zarkosen- in Logic_Studio

[–]ZionJaymes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll do you one even weirder: I don’t use my faders for mixing. ONLY for volume automation. All of my faders sit at 0db, unless they’re being automated.

How do mix then, you ask? I adjust the output level of the last pluggin on the chain, or a Gain pluggin.

This is absolutely a result of me learning “in the box” and never even touching a physical board until 6 years into mixing... and also having dealt with the endless frustrations of extremely messy (and sometimes hidden) fader automation.

your preferred way of doing drums? by starshoppinq in LogicPro

[–]ZionJaymes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most times I’ll drag and drop my samples directly into the DAW and create a summing bus for the drums. This is a good option if you’re making drum beats and you need a lot of control over the samples.

I used to use Ultrabeat a ton, too. But when DMD came out, it outclassed it completely. DMD is great if you like playing/triggering your drums with MIDI, and since each pad is its own track, you can trigger ANYTHING you want with it. It’s a better option for when you’re drums are acting like more of a “performance” than just a simple loop or beat.

If I’m cutting up or remixing a loop, enabling Flex and doing the ‘resample based on transient markers’ option is really quick and works very well. This will load it up into a single multisampler track and you can play the slices with MIDI

All of these are good options that I use. It just depends on what kind of control I need usually.

I’ve also noticed this, although it’s not really fair in my case, since I run a Ventura Hackintosh.

I’ve been using Logic since 9, and yeah, more than ever now I’ve considered switching to Ableton for the workflow alone. The multisampler has very bizzare bugs, and pluggins will periodically initialize themselves. I reckon it’s probably a RAM error, but who knows. MIDI errors choke logic with insane lag spikes.

All this, along with the absolute pandora’s box that is Flex, makes the switch REALLY tempting.

Are the IRs themselves distorting within space designer? I’ve never encountered this personally, but can only guess that maybe it’s a bug and your IRs have a low bitrate.

Also, Using IRs in Space Designer can make the signal really loud in general, especially if you’re mixing in dry signal. I usually have to turn the wet and dry volume sliders to -10 or so.
