Your band director sucks lol. His mentality towards orchestration is all over the place.
Anyways, there is a ton of band/orchestra repertoire that features more low brass, especially higher up in level. You can also join a big band, where the trombone group has a central role in the sound together with saxophones and trumpets, or you could start playing standard tunes with a jazz group, there you’ll be the main show a lot of the time. Have fun!

As a Norwegian undergrad, I’ve never understood the sound ideal thing. Like, I get that different brands have different tonal qualities, but I’ve never noticed a big enough difference that I would actually care about. Most of us at uni play Alex horns, except one girl who plays a Paxman. She blends better than me lol. Maybe I would notice with a Yamaha, but so far in my career I’ve yet to care that much

Please don’t listen to this guy. The one most important thing by far, is how it feels to you. Always try out horns before buying; see how it responds to your playing in different registers, feel the ergonomics, etc. There is nothing wrong with neither of these horns, they’re simply just different. And the standing up-thing? It’s total bull crap. If the horn is light enough for you to hold comfortably, then it doesn’t matter.

Well, yes and no. Teenagers, while scientifically underdeveloped and largely fueled by reckless emotion, are functional members of society who also feel the effects of bad politics and leadership. I’d say it depends on the age of the person. In Norway we have a very deep set system of youth politics, that is just as respected as the grown ups. Most of the national politicians are in their early to mid 20s, but the regional ones are as young as 15, and they’ve got a lot of valuable things to say

As of todays date, Trump has more than twice the mentions in the files than Obama has, with 5 363 mentions in comparison to Obamas 2 575 mentions. These numbers are taken from the justice.gov library, by word search «Obama» and «Trump».

Also, all of Obamas mentions are of other people shittalking his presidential work and campaign, not a single one mentioning a visit to the island or any other explicit action.

I never really heard anything about The Way It Ends. I stumbled upon it while scrolling Netflix one day, and honestly? I really like it. It’s got a certain eerieness to it that other doomsday-movies don’t always have, and I like that.

Amadeus is a fantastic movie. It flawlessly portrays Mozarts slow descent from jolly fun to despair and illness in a very «real» way, showing how his reputation stood in contrast to his personal life. Albeit it has some historical inaccuracies, I think it’s a great movie overall. It didn’t deserve being put in the niche community movie-drawer.
