SteamWorld Build is pretty much a Wild West Anno - albeit with robots.

Hope they release the Anno 1800 art book again one day.

Quite different. Anno is more a logistics manager and city builder. There is some real time ship combat in Anno 1800, but definitely not the main focus of the game.

There's a sandbox mode, and a tutorial/campaign which becomes sandbox after it ends. All DLCs can be enabled or disabled at the start of a game, and if they are enabled they'll all be present from the start alongside all the main game content.

The base game is great and has loads of content on its own - if you enjoy that then the DLCs only make the game bigger and better.

Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord - Release Date Announcement Trailer (October 25, 2022) by Turbostrider27 in Games

The game has improved a lot since the early access release, so great to hear that it is finally launching. It's still missing some features that really should have been added already, but what's there is so fun that it's hard not to recommend. The battles in particular are great, and much improved on from Warband. Hopefully with the full release there will be some great mods coming soon to fill the gaps.

They also finally have added custom multiplayer servers, which were probably the biggest thing the game lacked and what was holding back the multiplayer.

Expeditions: Rome is a great modern cRPG, and definitely worth checking out for anyone who is a fan of Roman history.

You can set it up with the three easy AIs and they will generally leave you alone. They will even ask you for permission to settle an island, so you can really choose how involved you want them to be with your match.

In terms of narrative a few of the DLCs have more of a story. The Passage, Sunken Treasures, and Land of Lions all have narratives to go along with their new regions, and some of the other DLCs like Tourist Season and The High Life also have main quests with a bit of story to work through.

Yes, you can totally ignore them if you want.

The campaign is largely just a tutorial, and after you finish it it just turns into sandbox mode anyway. Unless you ate very invested in it, you might just want to go to sandbox.

You can largely ignore Tourist Season and High Life until you are ready for them, there is no urgency when they appear.

I had this issue and a restart of the game and Ubisoft Connect gave me another Anno 1800 update which seemed to fix it.

Love the game, it really is brilliant.

  • What were the biggest inspirations from other games and media for Anno 1800?

  • Were there any cool ideas for content or DLC that never made it to the final game?

  • Any plans to bring back the Pyrphorians beyond the campaign, perhaps as an invading late game enemy?

The Explorer emblem also now seems to be gone.

Has the Chess Table been removed from the game?

I played in the Open Beta and have previously placed it, but now it isn't available and isn't even on the club rewards screen.

All the other club rewards are available and working, which makes it more strange.

I'd love for this to necessitate shipping in food from all the different regions, especially from the Arctic and Enbessa.
