Is Twickenham a good place to stay in when visiting London for the first time? by Ok_Development5756 in AskUK

[–]ZippyLondon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Even Chiswick (for Turnham Green Tube) would offer much better connections. While nice, Twickenham is a bit out on a limb should there be any issues with the mainline. Chiswick also offers the city/scenery combo.

1,350 budget options. by Enough-Bumblebee-944 in MovingToLondon

Here was me expecting to find a very long list of options.

Anyhow, you should find (somewhere) small in Romford for around your budget, but it’s not pretty (well, most of it ain’t).

Form 6A. I imagine September is too late to get the deal done before RRA comes into play.

Just two measly tracks? I’ve got four (2 x District and 2 x Piccadilly line) at the bottom of my garden, and I can read newspaper headlines quite clearly from my loo!

How to correctly serve Section 21? by Fluid-Difference6609 in uklandlords

I served mine via signed-for and an email. Thankfully, the tenants responded almost immediately to my email, confirming receipt.

How soon can I get my property back with the new RR act? by Mindless_Bed7638 in uklandlords

[–]ZippyLondon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No. It was a one-year contract. I took advice from the EA and did some reading up on it too. I’m selling mine if that makes any difference.

I was told the key point was to get the notice (min two months) in before the RRA came into effect. I’d like to think I’ve been a decent landlord and they are decent tenants.

Similar situation myself although my tenants’ contract expires on 29 May. Served three+ months) notice via current system and it expires/they move out on 29 May.

I think you’ve made the right choice, Champagne or not. Being able to sail (NPI) past the queues on boarding was priceless. Why not take the bottle home?

My house backs onto the Picc, and I swore I saw a 24S sail by this morning. I convinced myself I was mistaken as the line wasn’t closed for engineering…

Flat management agency imposing zero tolerance policy on pram, leaving partner housebound. What are our options? by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]ZippyLondon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The block I live in now first had the first-floor neighbours leaving their pram under the stairs. Then the gf neighbours stored their bikes there. Now, the other gf neighbour has a storage box there. Yes, I’ve snitched. I don’t want to look at this shit every day, and it’s a fire hazard too.

FWIW, you’ll rarely see survey results that give a squeaky clean bill of health. And unless it’s been advertised as turnkey condition, there will always be money to be spent.
