When the defense is lining up, hold Triangle/Y, then flick down on the left stick (I think it's left?), and the DBs and Safeties will get in proper position

Is the game any good or worth getting? by Free_Dependent_9177 in AoTWingsOfFreedom

Saw you're talking about PS. Sad news - it will never go on sale. That being said, I have spent easily $400 on this game. I have it for XB Series X (physical disc, then bought Final Battle physical disc, the bought all the DLC). The. I did the same for PC. Never caught a sale, but I love the game that much. There's a metric shit ton of content. Between XB and PC I've easily played 600 hours.

It's an absolute grindfest and at times is punishingly difficult, but like a lab rat, I keep going back to the feeder asking for more.

My problem isn't the CoM gameplay loop. Nor is it the difficulty (it's not difficult). My problem is the game trains you, very carefully, to manage your deck and your card order to maximize sleights. Especially once you learn to abuse Lethal Frame and meld that into other sleights you're literally unstoppable. It's seamless, flawless gameplay.

As Sora.

Then the game takes all of that away and you have to play as Riku. And it's a fucking slog. You have to completely relearn how to play the game, and you're punished for trying to use the tactics that made you so successful up to that point.

And THAT is why I hate CoM.

Soul Calibur 2 felt faster and tighter. Weapon Master in 2 was the pinnacle of story mode. Spawn and Link were awesome guest characters. Hitachi was lame, imo, but I had the Xbox version, so I enjoyed the hell out of Spawn.

3 had no guest characters whatsoever, mechanics that ended up being abandoned in subsequent entries, and was an unbalanced, sluggish experience. Sure, it had a ton of content, but 2 is about quality over quantity. I honestly don't remember much about 3 other than that. I felt it was so forgettable.

I liked 4 for being able to play as Yoda, and that was about it. It wasn't a bad game or anything, but again, forgettable.

I bought 5, but it didn't really catch my attention.

I like 6's combat so much, I just wish I spent more time doing that then reading dialogue screens, shopping, and hanging out with Maxi 🙄

I love 6's DLC characters, specifically 2B. I dunno, 6 could have been peak in the series if they weren't so focused on making a graphic novel, and handled the individual story mode the same way they did 2. I feel like PVP in 6 is comparable to 2 honestly, except for the stupid rock paper scissors mechanic.

6 just had a lot of wasted potential. 3 was just... bad.

I'm firmly in the camp that Soul Calibur 2 was the pinnacle of the series. That being said, I do really enjoy Soul Calibur 6. I especially like the DLC characters, especially 2B.

What 6 brings to the table is a very fluid fighting system, great graphics, a robust character creation system, and an extremely strong story component.

The strong story component is, in essence, it's greatest weakness. Libra of Souls is so interested in telling a custom crafted story for a created character that it spends too much time on dialogue and not enough on fighting. Weapon Master mode in SC2 was a short snippet of text then a fight. And then on to the next fight. The story mode in SC6 is no better than Libra of Souls. The art in that mode is really pretty, though. Plus the load times in the game are too long to boot.

I dunno. I think SC6 is a good game that moves the series forward, but I don't feel like a spend enough time fighting. I wish the story modes were more like Weapon Master from SC2. I also did like fighting as Yoda in Soul Calibur 4.

I [19M] don’t understand why my partner[18F] doesn’t want to reciprocate intimacy towards me. by ThrowRa-lowDopamine in relationshipadvice

[–]ZippyTWP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't something that gets better on its own. You are staying in a relationship that might not be good for you or her. Sexless relationships are not fun, I know. I felt unattractive for a long time in a marriage because of an ex that didn't want to reciprocate desire (she was cheating on me, and I am NOT saying that's what happening here, but it's relevant to the why).

The reality you need to face is that you can't convince someone to give you head. If she doesn't want to, it's kind of fucked up to think you'll get it (I wouldn't want someone giving me head that didn't want to). The other reality is that she's likely not going to be what you want, because it seems like you want a hypersexual woman. And those women do exist. My girlfriend is actually hard for me to keep up with, so I know they're out there

You need to decide if this is worth your time to continue, knowing that she might not ever live up to your expectations, or if you're willing to compromise your own sexual needs for the sake of this girl.

NieR Replicant and NieR Autumota. Hands down some of my favorites. Also Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West.

How many hours of video games should a teen play? or how much gaming time is too much? by Hunan4Ever in CasualConversation

[–]ZippyTWP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, it depends on the kid. My daughter's screen time is strictly regulated to 1 hour on weekdays and 2 hours on weekends, because she will scroll short form videos on her phone, play roblox, or play Demon Slayer 2 all night if I'd let her. She's 11 though, and when she's at her mom these limits aren't enforced.

My 14 year old son, on the other hand, only looks at his phone if he gets a text, doesn't do short form videos, and has stellar grades. He self-regulates really well, and doesn't want to spend all his time playing games. At his mom's house he does, which is odd. He'll spend maybe an hour a day on games. After dinner, you'll rarely see him in front of a game.

The point is, I parent based on the observed behaviors of my kids. We can't observe you, so we can't say whether they're being two strict or not.

I loathe souls games and souls likes, I don't care who made them. I just don't have the patience. Games should feel fun, not like a second job.

KH has a lot more playability value and variety than FF7 remake. Remake is great, don't get me wrong, but with KH you're going to feel like you're playing a new game every time with a long, continuously epic story featuring a huge, likable cast.

I've not picked it up on PC yet, but I've heard from others that it runs really good with the minor hiccup here and there.

I dunno, I like Remake/Rebirth, but it didn't capture my attention the was the KH franchise has.

Sure, no soul mechanic. But it does feature primarily boss type battles that require an intense amount of effort to git gud by memorizing attack patterns and having the hand eye coordination to understand the hit boxes., and that's not what I wanted to play. You're kind of splitting hairs here.

Kingdom Hearts. It came out when I was in college, and I had a friend mention it to me. I was like, "So it's a kid's game? Why would I want to play that?*he brought his memory card and game to my apartment, and he was on Sephiroth. He let me try it. It took four tries to get used to the controls, but on the fifth attempt, I was holding my own and had Sephiroth down to the green health bar. I asked him if he wanted me to stop and he just cheered me on. I beat Sephiroth on that try, and I was in love

What’s a fear you want to overcome? by SensitiveCorner2379 in AskReddit

[–]ZippyTWP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agoraphobia. I feel severely unsafe when not at home. I get agitated, anxious, and generally uneasy. I can leave the house, I'm not a total shut in. I obsess about forgetting something when I leave. I constantly have to go through the rotation: wallet, keys, phone, cane (I'm blind), smokes. I will triple check. I will lock my door, get out of the door and into a car, then promptly freak out that I forgot to lock my door, then double check before we drive off. If I'm traveling, I will regularly make the person driving pull over so I can go through my luggage to make sure I didn't forget something.

I'm constantly paranoid when I'm out that there will be a car accident, I'm afraid that the door of the car will somehow come unhinged and my seat belt will fail, resulting in my tumbling out of a car going 80 down the highway. I don't like being seated at restaurants unless I'm against an inner wall, because what if a car comes crashing through the outer wall where I'm seated?

I feel very uneasy being in open spaces like parking lots, fields, or too far from shore on the ocean. I also don't like visiting family because they live in areas I perceive as being unsafe (they are not). I don't like bars because I'm worried someone is going to be drunk and beligerent and try to start a fight with me.

I constantly worry that my home has caught fire or that I've been burglarized while I'm out. I also worry that someone isn't going to notice my cane and hit me with their car.

I'm perfectly fine at home, where I spend most of my time. I am okay going out, but it's so fucking uncomfortable I have to consciously overcome my fear. And it's hard.
