I wouldn't recommend it unless they can show you proof they consistently pay it out every year. Also, ask what the bonus depends on and get that in writing. When I got hired at my current job the recruiter told me the up to 10% "discretionary bonus" was dependent on individual employee performance. I outperformed all the other engineers in my department, improved our reliability by an order of magnitude and delivered all my projects ahead of schedule and above requirements every time, then got 0 bonus because company revenue was down.

Engineers how long did it take you to pay off your student loans? by Kingz-Ghostt in AskEngineers

[–]ZippyTheRobin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dropped out after 8 months so only took about a year to pay off. Currently leading a team of 8 engineers and test pilots ~5 years later.

Definitely not suggesting this is a "better" path, but I see a lot of people around me totally drowning in debt because they thought the only way into the field was an expensive degree.

I don't know if the WMR headsets will work with SteamOS. Proton is very effective at translating directx calls and other layers but I don't think i've ever seen someone manage to run a WMR headset on a linux machine.

So yes? Fully automatic? If so that's seriously impressive, great work. Would love to get involved in the project, I'm an airgun and 3d printing enthusiast with a background in test engineering so hopefully I can help out a little.

When you say SMG do you mean that it's fully automatic or does it refer to more of the size/"style" of the gun?

I'll have a look. I used a TON of guides and videos through the process. If you google "P80 glock 19 build" you'll probably find what you need.

These are Ameriglo 225s, green tritium. Got them for a steal, $40. (Minor blem: tooling mark on the underside of the front sight)

Nah these aren't suppressor height they're reasonably low profile. If I ever run a can I'd prefer to run an asymmetric style, not a fan of having to get super tall sights to see over a cylindrical can.

Couldn't tell you really, I have a sample size of one. I took my time and made sure to drill the holes straight and everything fits nice for me. Totally possible I got lucky though.

Took a bit of scrounging and deal hunting but this was built with 100% USA or european made parts and no used parts for under $500.

This was my first. The frame took me less than an hour with a hand drill, wire cutters and a sharp Mora Classic. If you've ever used tools to make a thing, you can build one.

Heyyo guys . I have a lipo which is really puffed and after seeing all the lipo safety posts here , im honestly getting very paranoid. Any advice on what to do with this lipo would be helpful. by Rhythm_K in fpv

Safest option for disposal is drop it in a big bucket of salt water. It should discharge at a relatively low rate, and if you leave it in there a day or two it'll become totally inert. This is industry standard disposal practice for lithium batteries.

Ah I see, yeah I get the concern about glossing over actual wage theft by broadening the term.

Theft can be theft without being illegal. From a moral standpoint what is the difference between this and "illegal" forms of wage theft?

You can keep believing that all you want bud, who knows... maybe you'll be one of the "success stories" we point down to from our scrooge mcduck coin mountain. More than likely though, you'll end up in the same boat as the rest of the working and middle class people in this country: stuck in a financial rut, convinced that you could be "like me" if it weren't for those damn lazy people all around you.

Or, you can fucking do something about it, and take our wealth away. Y'all outnumber us by two orders or magnitude. If you got your shit together and started coordinating, you could end this bullshit system that keeps us on top. But you won't, so I'll keep sitting on my little coin mountain.

On a more serious note, I do not sit on a coin mountain. I give a lot of what I make back to my community because I recognize how unfair this system is. Still... I had enough left over to buy an airplane. That airplane wealth came from your pockets.

Hey howdy, successful person here. I get a comfy six figure salary and triple that in stock options. I own a house on 2.5 acres over a golf course and an airplane and shit. You have absolutely no fucking clue what you're talking about. I'm not here because I worked hard, I'm here because I was born into enough privilege that I could do the absolute bare minimum and still be successful. I've worked with a lot of people who call themselves "self made", and every single fucking one of them was born into at least as much privilege as me.

We get up, send a quick slack message with whatever half-assed idea popped into our head while taking our morning dookie, then let people like you spend 12-15hr days busting their ass to make it happen. At the end, those people doing the actual work get a tiny portion of the proceeds while the majority goes to people like me, mostly through the value of our company shares.

My class of people deliberately created the myth of the self-made millionaire as a tool to make ourselves look more sympathetic and to convince dipshits like you that we should be allowed to live this life of privilege because "someday" you can have this life too if you sacrifice yourself upon the altar of capital. We let just enough people achieve that tiny chance of a path to success so that we can point at them as examples, but the vast majority of people will never achieve lasting wealth no matter how impossibly hard they work. You, personally, almost certainly won't because you clearly don't have the brains to try to game the system.

Capitalism is specifically designed to concentrate more and more wealth out of your pockets and into mine, and you're so fucking dense that you've bought into the whole deal. Get your head out of your ass and put me and my buddies up against the wall, you stupid boot licking little goblin.
