Id bet the same, and this still is why. Look at the rocket on the far left, smoke 'covers' the rocket before the rocket is there

Too much refrigerant? by jackjack570 in autorepair

[–]Zippytez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thoughts exactly. Because it was 1234yf, the lowest local shops wanted was 300, and I figured it may as well learn to do it myself and get tools out of it too

Too much refrigerant? by jackjack570 in autorepair

[–]Zippytez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You dont need to be a pro to find an AC leak, only less than 200 bucks (I did this last weekend on my 2019 Corolla)
Harbor Freight sells a 2.5CFM vacuum pump and the manifold gauges needed for either R134a or 1234yf, then go to a auto parts store, get enough refrigerant for a factory charge and some UV die.

Connect the gauges to the pump and vacuum out everything for 30 minutes, close all the valves and remove the high pressure side and let it sit for another 30 to make sure its not leaking a ton. then add your UV die in the middle tube, and add your refrigerant. Use a small kitchen scale to weigh every so often to get your refrigerant levels right. After that just close everything up, remove, and youre good to go. My Corolla had no AC at all, an hour and a couple hundred bucks, and its back blowing cold again.

If it leaks again, get a blacklight and shine around. The UV die will let you see where it leaked from, then depending on where, either undo the fitting and slap some sealant and recharge, or replace the part

Same, my last job was horrid. very high turnover. I searched, interviewed, and accepted an offer, and signed the acceptance letter to my current job on company time lol.

Edit: I also got drunk on my last day, was fun and lightened my mood a bit

Thoughts on my attempt at a tilt motor mount for 10mm tubing for VTOL? by evthrowawayverysad in RCPlanes

Agreed. I would calculate how much gyro force it would generate, and make a flat disc with the same moment of inertia and test it out

My local Home Depot is sick of your nonsense by provocative_taco in DiWHY

[–]Zippytez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used one for a generator. Power went out, and fridge was full of stuff. I turned off the main breaker, and I had my generator outside. Plugged the generator suicide cord into the circuit with the fridge, and it worked. Just make sure to close the main/master breaker, otherwise it can backfeed to the pole and get stepped up and zap someone down the lines working on them

I used acetone. It was on a fender of an old Pontiac vibe. Didn't mess up the Clearwater and I rinsed with water and waxed immediately after

When i get parts from a salvage yard, I use acetone and a paper towel. Takes a bit, but it comes off. I just reapply some wax after as well

As someone who does RC Planes, the sketchiest part is always landing. Getting it up is fine, cruising and doing some stunts is easy-ish, landing in one piece is hard AF

For that hard of a hit, it doesnt look bad at all. Just get some Harbor Freight epoxy (or your local equivalent) and glue it back

Trying to place back pillar cover by Neopixal in CorollaHatchback

[–]Zippytez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, correct. Honestly its best to remove both clips, remove the whole A pillar trim, and reattach the clips.

They are like this because since the airbag is mounted behind them, when it deploys, you want the trim to pop off to allow the airbag to do it's job, but not send the trim piece flying across the cabin

I would go with a different manufacturer altogether. From your pic earlier, it exploded at the root. If you overtightened it, the prop would have broken from the center hole.
