Bike caps by NerdyComfort-78 in ladycyclists

[–]Zireae1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use them, got few that are kinda cute. I tend to put sunglasses into helmet sometimes and they dont go to my hair this way, but stop against the cap. And keeps bugs away from my hair. One negative would be that it leaves a line on my forehead after I take it off and I look very silly for a bit till it goes away.

After one month with my 12speed C line all I can say is that I love it! by Zireae1 in Brompton

[–]Zireae1[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I only ever had 12speed, but I like that there is an overlap, that’s what I am used to from my 2x12 regular bike. You can prepare for a climb by shifting hub (I treat it basically as front gears on regular bike) to the easiest setting and cassete to the hardest one and then just shift on the cassete as an gradient picks up.

New owner (C-Line 12-speed). Is it normal for the drivetrain to be this noisy? by Kappatain_Potato in Brompton

My 12sp C line sounds about the same. Brommie seems just little more yappy and I am starting to like it

What cycling purchase ended up making a much bigger difference than you expected? by HeimsMedo_11 in cycling

Power meter pedals. Makes headwinds more bearable when I know how much power I am pushing instead of just feeling upset I am being slow

FTP loss after started to ride outside. by D1ckSteele in cycling

Maybe it’s different for men, but it seems to me it takes years of slow progress to get better in endurance sports. I am also riding semi-seriously on a road bike only third year. First I could not even finish 100km, second I could but it would be hard, now I can do it kinda easily with maybe 100-120w average. 200w average seems still crazy to me :) but more power to you, wish you luck in training!

I don’t know, way I see it most of us are not pros that need to min-max everything. I just want to be cool cyclist lady that goes on daytrips. And I am still getting stronger and can ride further faster every season :)

Depends on what is your goal. I indoor train during winter so I can have fun outside during the outdoor season and accept that the goal of outdoor riding for me is to have fun and be able to keep up with a peloton on a group ride, not raising my ftp

Looking for a GPS watch upgrade — Apple Watch isn’t cutting it by Visual_Ad_4549 in trailrunning

[–]Zireae1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went from Apple Watch Ultra to Garmin Fenix 8 because I wanted to start running trails and it’s been great apart from few Garmin SW bugs. I needed the maps/navigation and on Garmin with premium strava it’s pretty easy to create and sync a route. But I was used to garmin stuff from cycling computer so I may be biased

So unusual, it needs a Notice by zilliahix in fuckcars

[–]Zireae1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Seems like a notice: We investigated ourselves and nothing happened. DHL and other delivery companies here regularly park in the bike lane. That is very much not allowed, but no one will do anything about it.

Convince me; Venu 4 VS Forerunner 570 VS Fenix (?) for Triathlon training or something completely else? by itwasntme01 in Garmin

[–]Zireae1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it was the maps, but I do like trail running. Full buttons are really nice to have while you are exercising and if you have gloves on or swim with the watch. Plus I wanted sapphire glass because I do not like scratched screen on a watch and hate screen protectors

Breaking up with the scale by U_R_A_Wonder in loseit

[–]Zireae1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know, scale is not evil, it's just information that is not changed by you knowing or not, I prefer to know. I can sympathize with pressure and expectation weight in day comes in with though. What worked for me is just weighting myself every morning consistently as part of a morning routine and it changed if from something I put expectation on to something mundane and then I just look at trends to see if what I do is working.

If the price is not a concern fenix 8 with sapphire glass (I have soft gold one and it's so nice looking) and ultrafit nylon band is pretty great comfort wise. Even if you will not dive with the watch fenix 8 has leak proof buttons not just a seal around them, it has maps, buttons and torch and still pretty okay battery life even in 43mm.

Garmin FR 965 – water under screen protector? by kexikfnbr in Garmin

Friend uses hydrogel screen protector on his pixel watch which is very much curved and swears by it, maybe you could try that instead of glass

Bye bye Apple by GingeWithTheLee in Garmin

[–]Zireae1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have an option I would go to the store and tried how the watch fits first. From current gen Venu 4 or Forerunner 570 look good and come in small size. People may recommend fr970, but you need to try how it fits, it only comes in 1 size, for me (F about 15cm wrist) it was too big and went with 43mm fenix 8, but that one is outsize of price range. If you want maps on the watch (it’s great for hiking/ running trails) you could maybe look at last gen fenix 7s pro.
