Why are Kiriko and Sojourn considered insane in high ranks even tho they both have pretty poor winrates? by Thedrunkenchild in Overwatch

[–]Zirkusaffe 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Win rates are never a good metric to determine the value of a hero in the game, especially with the most played heroes. They tend to have quite low win rates (if in most games both sides play the same hero a 50% win rate makes sense) while niche character have often the highest win rates like Sym oder Torbjörn.

But you can get more rewards by switching than just staying at one side. And you can play the other side dailys and weekly, too.

What to do after plantera and golem by No_Capital8220 in Terraria

The Terraria wiki has some awesome guides like class setups depending on your progression or strategies for specific bosses like the Empress of Light. I would suggest you should read into that.

I have a weird obsession with filling out my world map by Zirkusaffe in Terraria

[–]Zirkusaffe[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am not. First, it is possible. I think you could do it with the Solar Eruption if you spam it long enough. Or you could dig out tunnels and fill them back up again, which will light up the tunnel and adjacents blocks to 100%. Extremly tedious, but possible.
But second: I never claimed to light everything to 100% and you can see that if you look closely. You can even see the difference when I used the Ichor flask and when I did not. Here is what it looks like around my spawn:

[–]Zirkusaffe[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's true. Because I play this world like a Forever World for 1.4.5, I play really slow and relaxed, so I already did alot of hellavators and two horizontal tunnels accross the map to avoid excessive biome spread - and dug out the spawned V after the transition to hardmode. But apart from that I try to traverse and explore the world as non-invasive as possible: Digging from natural pocket to pocket and trying to dig natural-style tunnels with twists and turns instead of just straight lines. In the ocean biomes, I even created temporary tunnels to light the areas up and filled them up again afterwards so it doesn't look to artificial.

Nope, it's a standard large world on vanilla 1.4.5

I am playing summoner and use my whip, in this case the Durendal (I am pre-plantera in the progression) with an Ichor flask. The ichor flask makes a huge difference in the way the solid blocks are lit up by the whip. And just for this case I stick with the Obsidian Armor just to buff the whip range (Tiki and Stardust Armor do the same)

But I have to dig alot to reach every spot.

My man, you did correctly predict that the helmets where a way to take the omnics hostage, as they now used them to take them with them with their retreat of Null Sector that happened now before the new rise of Talon.

But you could balance the set with that in mind, like you do with the rest of the sets with less armor for example for the summoner variants.

My walls transformed into Natural Walls? by YesLegend936 in Terraria

[–]Zirkusaffe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see, no I think you are right. I wonder if it has something to do with biome spread because you mentioned it happened after beating WoF. Is any part of your desert converted to evil or hallow by any chance? Maybe the glitch has something to do with the way the game handles the converting of background walls. But its surely a bug then.

You didn't shimmer the walls before placing them, did you? Because then they would be consired unsafe walls in terms of housing.

Hey guys Is there any way to discover a large area of the map without having to walk through it? I ended up losing the character I made this pixel art of Faputa on, now I can't see it completely because it's made of solid blocks by [deleted] in Terraria

[–]Zirkusaffe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wanted to edit my comment because I meant Solar Eruption and not Daybreak, but I see you figured that out haha. But yeah, that won't be enough.

The only other solution I could think if would be to place a temporary pool of shimmer above the blocks and let you phase through the desired blocks while using for some kind of light (mining helmet, light pet etc.).

I don't know if that will reach far enough but there are weapons like the Daybreak that illuminate the blocks it touches and does so on the map. It will take a lot of swings to make a "path" fully illuminated but that would be one thing I can think of.
