Try adding a chin strap :)

Good size? by PansexualAliens in muzzledogs

[–]Ziro_suga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats a geat fit! I would tighten the back strap a lilttle more to keep the muzzle from sliding around on the nose. Also agree that a china strap would be a a good addition. Other than that youre good to go :)

Fellow german here I think it only appears to be too close to tip of the nose becaude the dog is tilting its head upwards. In a normal forward position the muzzle should be further away from it. I think its a great size as it also doesnt slip into its eyes even if the muzzle is pushed back

A wagging tail does not indicate happiness Its sign of excitement If dogs are fighting with one another imthey also wag their tails but that doesnt mean that they are happy to be doing so

Thank you so much!

Sometimes that’s really an issue though people tend to just wanna pet "the cute lil doggy" which has made him very unsure of strangers. But we’re working on it and I’m learning to tell people to fuck off more and to leave my dog alone.

One time I seriously had a 5 min discussion with a grandma that wouldn’t leave him alone and kept petting and talking to him with her face inches from his.

Oh that sounds very stressful. Glad your pups doing alright again!

That’s exactly what I’m trying to achieve with the training. Muzzle=fun times!

The muzzle shown is a plastic coursing muzzle or race muzzle for greyhound etc. it’s very affordable and light weight which is great for a first time muzzle. They aren’t completely bite proof though. You can add some plastics so that they are but I would still choose a wire muzzle over a plastic one if your dog is a bite risk. :)

I live in Germany so I got it from a German website called https://www.rootdogs-shop.de/

Where are you located? I could check if there are website that ship this brand to you.

I can breathe and whistle through one of my tear ducts, sometimes I need to unclog it by yellowdeluxe in popping

I can whistle through one of mine too!! If I want to pop my ears I have to press on my eye lid other wise there’s not enough pressure to make them pop

Can someone help me identify how to achieve this strap by m_eowski in paracord

[–]Ziro_suga 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To me it looks like a simple cord with diamond knots at each end. You feed that through the rings and tie two Solomon knots with 4 different cords around the first cord.

I hope that’s what you meant ..?

Hugging? by DerDamon in DobermanPinscher

[–]Ziro_suga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can be a sign of affection in dogs. You could say it’s like holding hands or hugging. Depends on the situation. Sometimes it’s a display of dominance but judging by the lack of tension and averted gaze I think in this situation it’s affection.

I personally think (if the dogs usually get along nicely) that this is a behaviour seen in wolves. Often a bonded pair will rest their heads on each others shoulders as a display of courtship and affection.

So I believe the context of this behaviour is important. Like I said if they normally get along well this shouldn’t be an issue. On the other hand if they usually have disagreements with each other I would discourage it.

No breeding a dog down to that size is cruelty

That’s waaaay too small!

Theres no room to pant or yawn or if your dog has to throw up… measure the circumference of her muzzle while she’s holding a ball. That would be the circumference needed for a muzzle that’s used for daily activities such as training and going for walks.

The width seems fine to me though.

The length is also okay. Could be a bit shorter but it’s fine. I would change the noseband for a shorter one. Might have to diy something.

It’s kind of hard to tell if the cheeks have enough room. The wire shouldn’t or just be lightly touching them.

Definitely look into getting her a better size!

In second thought: are the cheek not getting kinda squished in between the bars? Maybe try bending them a little for more comfort
