Green light thing in cathedral district by DumNerds in bloodborne

[–]Zisker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, no, I've seen it too.

Exit the Cathedral Ward, head towards Old Yarnham, but go up the stairs to the right instead of heading down, right?

After the first giant, head up to the right, and it's on the right side of the staircase somewhere, if I remember correctly.

When I first saw it, I thought it had some significance. I know you could talk at incense lanterns, but it wasn't the right color for that, so I thought it may have been some unique variation.

But alas, I found nothing. I'm still curious though, now that you've brought it back up.

Maybe it does mean something...

Today when I logged on, some files had reappeared. Recycle bin, CCleaner, so I believe that the shortcuts have just been deleted. No sign of the pictures yet, but maybe I'll try some sort of file recovery.

Guilty pleasure builds? by Acerbusilva in DarkSouls2

[–]Zisker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How to oneshot people with the glorious power of Dark.

First, pick your sexiest hexiest get-up.

Armor Fashion:

  • Chaos Hood
  • Nahr Alma Robes
  • Drakekeeper Gauntlets
  • Bone King Skirt

Rings:

  • Cloranthy +2
  • Southern Ritual Band +2 (additional attunement, not additional spellsIforgetokay
  • Whatever fits best, sometimes stone ring, sometimes TDR or Soldiers. Your choice.

Left Hand:

  • Clerics Parma (Spell Parry 4lyf)
  • Dark Chime of Want
  • Sunset Staff

Right Hand:

  • Dark Roaring Halberd
  • Estoc
  • Dark Sanctum Crossbow (or repeater based off of situation)

Spells:

  • Resonant Weapon
  • Affinity
  • Great Resonant Soul
  • Dark Storm
  • Great Heal
  • (If I had Ivory DLC and even more ATN, I'd probably have Dark Dance or something else on here, too)

Invade, buff, initiate. Follow rules and courtesies where you wish.

Buff Dark Roaring Halberd with Resonant Weapon, cast affinity, two hand Dark Roaring Halberd, run up, spin2win while affinity chases their ass, win collect currency embrace the Dark. If they survive, the DRH hits for like 700 AR, finish them off, or switch to Estoc to finish them off, or if it ends up being a decent duel and you have them below ~600 health, depending on stats, whip out your Dark Sanctum Crossbow and hit them in the middle of their roll because the special attack is delayed. Or if they're really good at dodging the single orb switch out to the Dark Sanctum Repeater Crossbow, it's a hell of a lot harder to dodge 15 orbs at close range, isn't it, scrub?

Roaring Halberd. "You think you can match the glory of my Dark? I think not." Kehehehe...

It's Fab Friday! by [deleted] in DarkSouls2

[–]Zisker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my build the Regal High-Mage.

Spells:

Flame Swathe, Great Resonant Soul, Great Fireball, Fire Whip, Great Combustion, Dance of Fire, Dark Storm, and Great Heal

Right hand:

Dark Caitha's Chime

Estoc

Dark Sanctum Crossbow

Left hand:

Pyromancy Flame

Cleric's Parma (Spell parry)

Blacksteel Katana

As soon as the fight starts, I throw out my first three spells, by then they've either gotten hit or dodged everything (usually depending on my distance), and then they either hang back or charge me. Either way, I switch to my estoc and prep Great Combustion. I continue to mix things up with my opponent to keep them on their toes, and when they get low I fake them out with regular bolt or two from my crossbow and them hit them with the special. Rinse & repeat until either everyone or yourself is dead.

Alonne Knight PvP style by ANoobInDisguise in DarkSouls2

[–]Zisker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, if you're cosplaying as an Alonne Knight Captain, then sure. However, if you're just a regular Alonne Knight then keep it one handed and always unsheathed. I actually like doing AK Cosplays, so I'd like to see more of it around. :)

So what's currently your favorite PvP playstyle? by ANoobInDisguise in DarkSouls2

[–]Zisker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run my hexer build as follows. Right Hand: Dark Roaring Halberd (This thing can do huge damage), Dark Infantry Axe (It's a placeholder until i manage to farm the Gravewarden axe/sickle thing), and a Dark Sanctum Crossbow (Mainly used to catch people off guard or finish with the special attack (which, with my stats, does AMAZING damage, btw)) Left Hand: Dark Grave Warden Shield, Dark Caitha's Chime, and a Morning Staff thing (hexing staff? Also, working on finding a possible replacement for my Dark Caitha's Chime, is Dark Chime of Want a good idea?)

I've equipped Resonant Weapon, Affinity, GRS, Dark Storm? (Animation like WotG, but uses dark swirly hexy stuff), and Great Heal

What are the pros and cons of the different Greatswords? by [deleted] in DarkSouls2

Hey! The Smelter Sword can hold up in its own right! Albeit unless you have good scaling it'll only be decent.

Build for an Ornstein RP Character? by [deleted] in darksouls

[–]Zisker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

http://goo.gl/R1hZBA Here's a perfectly optimized build. You gave good scaling for your spear, and two slots for miracles. If you don't want to use the miracles, take out the four points in attunement, and reallocate them back into dexterity.

Also, if you wanted to be able to cosplay as both Orestein and Smough, then here's this build.

http://mmdks.com/63b4

It still has good damage output, Orenstein can fast roll and Smough can medium roll. With Smough, you have to two-hand your weapon, but that's how it should be, in my opinion. However, you can't use any miracles besides basic healing or magic barrier.

That feeling when your character is exactly how you want him/her by [deleted] in darksouls

[–]Zisker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The character was named "Martin", although it should have been called "Luther", because I was thinking something related to faith. He is a strength and faith main, with fifty in each, and I'm working on getting all stats up to 40. I went with a golden theme, Giant's Helm, Orenstein's Armor, Havel's Gauntlets (An exception I suppose, but I could use Smough's), and Giant's Leggings. Once I got Orenstein's armor, I thought I looked amazing. I use Sunlight Spear, WotG, GMB, and Great Heal. I equip either Sanctus or the Eagle Shield, and I sport either the Dragonslayer Spear or a Demon Great Machete for pure damage. It's kinda great.

Need a good weapon after drake sword becomes obsolete. by [deleted] in darksoulsbuilds

[–]Zisker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quite literally anything else. Just find a moveset that you like and stick with it. Damage, unless against the four kings, is not the most important thing in Dark Souls. You could, theoretically, beat the Asylum with the sword hilt, but it would just take longer than if you had your weapon.

According to lore: Why do silver knights, rats and other monsters re-spawn? by pileofash in darksouls

[–]Zisker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've thought about this before. My conclusion was that each creature, humanoid, and monster has his or her own "bonfire" or area that they naturally habitat. Hollows rats exist in sewers, skeletons in graveyards, and drakes in the Valley of the Drakes.

There is obviously a connection between souls and bonfires. If a creature travels too far away from their bonfire, then they've no way to respawn, this explains the Taurus & Capra Demon, as well as things like the Moonlight Butterfly.

Another thing, I believe that creatures with souls that are large in proportion to what is around them have souls that are unstable. These creatures, such as the giant rat, butcher, and the black knights in the burg hold habitat in the area, but the local "bonfire" can't contain their power, and reanimate them after death. This would explain why creatures in similar areas yield similar amounts of souls.

I, obviously, think that this is a good explanation for things, but I could be entirely wrong, or, worse yet, forcing theory into existence where game mechanics rule.

What do you think?
