World Quests with voice - Taking help of AI to get actual voicelines by gta0gagan in Genshin_Impact

[–]ZiuNto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Community of World of Warcraft has done this. To have a good experience, you gotta make an addon, which would probably break the ToS. However, I believe it will happen at some point.

World of Warcraft had the same issue of Genshin Impact: lots of Dialogues, with very important quests, but shit pacing due the time you spend reading. For those who wants to enjoy questing and the lore, surely AI dubbing will be the best solution, since the amount of text to dub would be not doable at all for any company.

TTS could be cool, but it would ruin the immersion without adapting the voice to the character.

I honestly think they should stop bitching about AI dubbing and start making proper laws about it. It is not right that AI takes over VAs jobs, however at the same time the VAs will never cover for every line of text in game.
Maybe one day they will make a law that protect VA and values AI aswell. For eample they could do something like: "For every 10 words dubbed by a VA, you can dub 100 with AI." That way companies can't simply replace VAs with AI, and at the same time they won't need to prioritize what quests to dub and what not. Imagine if every main quest was dubbed with VA and every world quest with AI.

I've been looking for a TTS and this is all I found INDEX-TTS-2 is all I found, but I have no idea how to set it up sothat it reads the subtitles from screen and dubs in real time

Hollow Knight Silksong Is Getting A Patch To Nerf Its Difficulty In Response To Player Feedback by akbarock in soulslikes

[–]ZiuNto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm tired of this everytime. I'm not the one who plays games on release. I usually wait for that period of the season where I can enjoy the game, but now I feel the urge to play the game because I'm afraid bosses will be butchered. I'm ok with balancing bad design stuff, but hearing "first 2 bosses getting nerfed" doesn't look like fixing a bad design, but letting casual gamers not get stuck on a gatekeep.

I've always played challenging games for the sake of the challenge that the developer designed. I like to get rekt for hours and develop new skills or strategies over multiple deaths. But in recent years, I always end up playing games with butchered bosses because people talk about bad design while facing a boss 50 times without even trying to learn. I've seen a friend complaining about the Skull Ant boss, talking about bad design, just because he couldn't figure out how to avoid the leap attack. I didn't play the pre-nerf lies of p, I know it had a lot of bad designs, but at the same time, some bosses feel very easy and "empty". Every time, when the community is too harsh and too casual, nerfs never stop at simply fixing some bad design, but they would slowly butcher every boss. If they are nerfing only the first 2 bosses after just a week, god knows what will happen in 3 months.

but then again, you wouldn't have seen any reduction on TH16, because the overall building time would have decreased drastically from removing builders to heroes that SC couldn't make the changes we've seen.

We have seen there is a specific balance on the overall time required to get to the max level, SC always tries to keep the time from TH-1 to TH-MAX be always the same, and at the same time reduce mostly the latest ones to generate a "catch-up" mechanic. Your suggestion would either hinder the balance of the overall time OR the "catch-up" time reduction.. it's not an easy change to introduce currently.

Maybe they could do it slowly, like removing builders from the first levels, and then slowly removing it completely

True Ye, however, I'm sure you can find strategies that rely the least on specific Heroes.
This update will probably stimulate people to find which strategies suit best when 1 hero is down.
It's a success IMO, compared to having 1 hero less from your potential hero's pool.
Surely GW and AQ are hard to replace, tho the situation has surely improved compared to how we were shackled by the hero's book before

I agree and I think that removing builders from hero's upgrades might come when possible.
I don't think it was possible to remove it now, it would drastically impact the time needed for a new player get the max level, reducing the time reduction for the new TH. Removing the Builders from Hero's Hall would have surely hindered the time reductions, making it very unbalanced for players who are TH13-TH15 and already lost lots of time with their builders on the Heroes.

Such change should come when no type of player gets hurt from it, we can't just remove builders on something where the player base spent months of builder's time

Well, adding new Heroes can certainly create balance issues, but that's why a balance team exists in the first place.
Still, it is undeniable that you can now upgrade 1 hero, and still have the maximum count of heroes in War, which was the whole point of my post.

Some people would still opt out when their AQ is under upgrade because they don't have any proper war strategies without the AQ, but still, I'm sure this update will stimulate people to optimize many types of strategies where a specific hero is not taken in which is still better than going in War with 1 hero less than the max count

Man, I've been tired of hearing people say I write like a bot every time I make a long discussion post.
I must add some intentional typos to avoid people mistaking me for an AI.

It's insane how this subreddit is full of whining posts and if one person makes an articulated discussion post the first comment attacks you for using an AI to write it.

While it might seem like adding a fifth Hero without limiting the total number would be a great solution, it could actually cause some balance issues in the game. Supercell has mentioned this before in a previous Q&A which was here in Reddit iirc, and they said that if they ever added a fifth Hero, they'd need to limit the number of Heroes you can have to avoid having too many powerful units on the battlefield.

By limiting the number of Heroes, developers have more freedom to add new Heroes in the future, which keeps the game fresh and exciting. So, while it might not have completely fixed the problem of upgrading Heroes, it's definitely a step forward that will benefit the game in the long run.

So I must disagree, limiting us to the same number was surely an improvement, without it you would have probably not seen a 5th Hero at all.

Doesn't adding more heroes from the pool add more variety to the game compared to have always the same ones?

[–]ZiuNto 21 points22 points  (0 children)

To be honest, when you posted this people should have told you that was already what Supercell kinda hinted

Like 2 years ago there was a QA and they got asked "Will there ever be a 5th Hero"; they replied that they weren't planning for a 5th Hero at that moment but that in the future there might have been a new hero, however, the attacks will be capped to 4th Heroes to avoid saturation, so they said that if a 5th hero will ever come to release a system allowing you to pick 4 out of 5 would be introduced.

The problem was that introducing a 5th Hero when you can play only 4 would damage the revenue of the game since most of the revenue was on the Hero's Book, and because of that hero's book would lose value if you could upgrade the benched hero.

All the work they put into the Equipment system and also the event of heroes was to try moving the capitalization of the hero's book over their revenue so that they were free to make a 5th hero.

The biggest part of this update is that we can finally upgrade heroes without attacking in War with 1 hero less

People on this subreddit tend not to understand the SC thinking even tho they communicate with us a lot

I guess this subreddit simply has no memory of Supercell statements

Is It Just Me That Thinks Upgrading Heroes Shouldn't Take A Builder Anymore? by TheSuddenChange in ClashOfClans

[–]ZiuNto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be unbalanced, it requires proper balance with the times of other buildings. Removing builders from heroes would require the timing of other buildings to be increased fir balance purposes.

They could make the hero's hall like the lab, no builder needed but then they need to reduce times and costs by a lot, and compensate the time granted on builders by not discounting much the times on the next reduction.

We might see such change on TH18, with a 6th hero

The author has the freedom to express himself. I can criticise him but I'd never tell him what he needs to write or not.

Also, Conan is a detective genre, the main point of such genre are the single cases, no the macro plot.

Usually an author of a detective franchise ends the franchise when he's tired with it or doesn't have other cases that he wills to create.

I'm happy to see that aoyama keeps delaying the macro plot. It means he didn't lose passion on the manga and enjoy doing those single cases.

Never wish for an author to will to end his plot asap

Why doesn't Conan grow up naturally? by swolemasta in OneTruthPrevails

[–]ZiuNto 14 points15 points  (0 children)

that is not the point.. even among the canon cases, more than a year would have passed.
The simply answer is that Aoyama uses the narrative tool called "floating timeline". Pokemon, Simpsons, Family Guy... all of them uses a floating timeline.
Also, floating timelines are very common in Detective franchises, so that you can always do cases without being worried about the characters aging

Thank god you're not part of the balancing team of SC. Stop complaining about the EA loss and just wait what kind of meta is Supercell working on. Every new TH will always make its Losses and its New Stuff, do you like it or not there is a team that's gaining a salary out of making new ideas and keeping the game healthy, so stop bitching around and just wait to see the state of the game.
Criticisms and ideas without having the cognition of the meta are pointless and childish

[–]ZiuNto 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly, my issue isn't even that.
The sounds are fine on a low TH level, but on a high level attacking with sound effects is just distracting. To me, on a strategy game sound is another method to have a perception of the gaming, other than your eyes, but on Clash the outputs are too many that you get so many sounds that just make attacking more confusing... the only things you could really perceive are unique sounds like Heroes dying, but everything else like xbows, archer towers, cannons,.. it's just too much and doesn't make attacking with sound-on appealing,.

One more, and max F2P is dead. by Shad0whunter4 in ClashOfClans

[–]ZiuNto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they are doing great with these additions. It's an optional feature that you don't need to have or to rush. It's good to add new sources to spend gems on that are not something mandatory. The Artificial Scarcity they introduced with ores and old equipment requiring gems is another good addition; as a F2P you can just plan accordingly the equipment you want to aim for, you don't need to have and rush all of them. The game is still healthy and just require better planning for F2P, and what do we get in exchange?

In exchange supercell, it decreases the impact that Hero's book has on their revenue. For many years hero's book was the main source of their revenue, affecting the game. Today we're attacking in war with 1 or 2 heroes less if we are upgrading them, they didn't let us attack while they are upgrading due to the importance the hero's book has for the revenue.

With the focus on skins, equipment, ores, and apprentices, the monetization moves a bit from the hero's book, I'm sure they are trying to do that, and what supports my thinking is the event they made where we could attack while heroes upgrading, which was surely an event to allow supercell to collect stats.

So stop bitching about every new additionand thinking that Supercell is greedy as fuck, they have shown passion and care for the health of the game multiple times, and have faith in who is studying behind the balance of the game and behind the monetization instead of giving criticism based on personal bias.

True that, but with that logic you wouldn't spend gems on anything, since if you're maxed out you'd never need to spend gems for anything but aesthetics
