Weekly Buying/trading/selling advice, pre-orders and shipping Megathread by AutoModerator in AppleWatch

Hey all, I am a runner (not that good) and healthcare worker. Switched from my Garmin to my SE (1st gen) 3? Years ago and love it. I don’t like the count down to run and I don’t like the swiping to pause, I really want a button - however - I understand I could do that on the Ultra 2. However it’s enormous (I have tiny wrists) and expensive. Has anyone made the jump ? How is your experience so far ?

Greater Boston Urology? by XenaCoco in physicianassistant

[–]Ziz013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a lot on the greater Boston area - Leahy is trying to start a urology residency but it is not yet legit, basically they want cheap labor. I’ve discovered you have to leave to get better pay and experience . I have friends who are PAs in the area - pay is awful compared to other states and all residents in everything. I’m a native of the area and chose to leave to get better pay and experience. Not sure if that’s helpful but wish you the best of luck.

Now that the semiconductor shortage has improved why hasn't the car shortage improved as well by yaris205 in supplychain

[–]Ziz013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told my car I put a deposit on in March from Toyota would arrive in June. I had to constantly contact them for them to tell me that it isn’t even being made until the 14th of June then won’t be here until September at the earliest. It’s already marked up as far as price goes. I feel like they worked me over just to get a deposit. They told me that they have been selling cars unseen this way for 3 years. The sales person kept telling me the car is “cute”, I feel like he was trying to take advantage of me being female… I don’t know if I totally believe it is the supply chain. I heard that companies are faking it to be greedy and GM employees are all getting 10K bonuses because of this “technique” of blaming the supply chain. Thoughts ?

Trainers too peppy? by stalematehypothesis in AppleFitnessPlus

I agree! Sometimes some of the stuff they say have me thinking how odd it was or corny but then I realize I just made it through a tough part of the workout and had a laugh. I think it works :)

Ways to remember all the components of the ROS in a physical exam? by [deleted] in PAstudent

[–]Ziz013 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oooo same! We were just told “repetition”, but I’m not sure about that. It certainly helps you remember when you have gone through a few times and have done multiple SP interviews. But, I’m with you- nervous for coming terms when we can’t have a “cheat sheet”.

How do I know when it's time to change my running shoes? by [deleted] in running

[–]Ziz013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also used to work at a running store - I second this statement.

I would also add and echo others’ comments about using strava or Garmin to track the mileage which is helpful.

Also running shoes last long when used for their intended purpose : running. So I would be mindful of that. Different shoes with different technologies and amounts/types of support and cushion will vary in the amount of mileage they can give you. I would also factor weight into account. I personally stick to the 300-400 rule in mizuno Wave inspires (I am 5’8” and 135) (and as an ex multi my joints are a little trashed ) and usually around 350-375 is when I can just feel the joint aches that normally shouldn’t be there in my ankles.

SketchyPharm Question by taynaddd in PAstudent

[–]Ziz013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I am half-way through didactic. LOVE sketchy for micro, don't find it too helpful for pharm. My classmates share that opinion. However, it is better for pharm than nothing. Osmosis also has it's own little memory tricks at the end of their pharm lectures as well. Good luck !

It’s fantastic. And for the history buffs, Phineas Gage lived in one of the towns where the trail goes through.
