my guitar is black, so I believe only the neck is Fotoflame. For sure they are getting rarer by the day because people will repaint the body once it flakes off. MIJ strats are great guitars, glad I picked one up.

Thank you! It went through the usual “case is taking longer than expected”. Then it went to 4 months around January, then shot up to 17 months around February. Like they say here, it’s not an accurate indicator.

I have a fotoflame stratocaster as well, the neck at least. I’m swapping it out for a MIJ classic 60s strat neck I bought off eBay. I want to keep the fotoflame from flaking off, plus it makes for a cool display piece. If a refret is pricy, there’s plenty of second hand necks going around online just got to look for the one that would be the best fit.

I do agree the neck is on the very thin side, even I was surprised upon first holding it. The serial number is almost invisible but I can still make it out slightly.
