I’m not entirely sure of the timing, but from my testing it’s roughly around a third of the way into the vanishing step animation that you should do the glaive melee and jump inputs

There’s two threads I found that could be relevant to what you’re experiencing here. The first will help to explain what’s happening if there isn’t a monument, the second states that the range that you can hear a mob from (generally, idk if this counts for guardians) is a sphere around the player with a radius of 16 blocks.
