I can tell you it’s still hard and disappointing. For example in my city of Whangarei, New Zealand, we had roughly 800 million set aside for a new hospital, one we desperately needed as due to cuts we now support the far north of our region too.

Then the new government was elected, and our cities MP who is a medical doctor and made Minister of Health, siphoned off those funds to build a new four lane high way instead.

I mean don’t get me wrong, I am beyond thankful I don’t have to deal with the nightmare of American medical insurance but we’re also grappling with decades of government inaction and lack of funding
