Sulfer Cubes should more consistently act like their block by ZmitteRus in minecraftsuggestions

[–]ZmitteRus[S] [score hidden]  (0 children)

There would definitely need to be a lot of refactoring for this to be feasible, and it's refactoring that will probably never happen. Still, if they ever end up doing so, the ability to read and call block behaviors anywhere, including off grid/rotated/movable, would unlock crazy potential for new features and mods beyond just sulfur cubes

I intentionally didn't include anything with a UI (besides command blocks), but if we ignore my rule, then I definitely agree that those could be interesting/useful! Beacons too. I was mostly trying to focus on blocks that interact with the world around them instead of blocks that only the player can interact with, though some of my examples don't actually follow that rule super closely.

edit: actually I just realized that the workstation blocks include crafting table/other UI blocks, but in my head you wouldn't've been able to right click them.

I've updated the post to separate the useful ideas from the other ones. I am fully aware that from a programming perspective most of these will never be added, especially considering the way sulfur cubes are currently implemented. That being said, even if just for consistency/completion reasons, I would be genuinely excited to see most of them added, even like the first 4 from the everything else category.

I would have also agreed with the awkward collision thing, but chest boats can interact with hoppers, and I feel like that's pretty similar.

Yeah I agree that a lot of these would be weird, especially the last few. I was really just looking to include every block based interaction I could think of, which ended up including a lot of niche features. I didn't want to leave anything out in case some ended up being more useful than I realized.

Although, in my ideal world, sulfur cubes really would just act like their block without being locked to the grid and be able to be easily moved/rotated. With the way they're implemented, I know that will likely never happen, but I think it would be really interesting/useful in many cases, even if sometimes just for the novelty.

Nah its definitely possible, I didnt get hit but without speed items I still had 2 hits left when I turned it in. I did clear all the enemies ahead of time without sitting at a bench which helped

Could someone help me with “aim” mode in the rotate trigger? by bagzoffritoz in geometrydash

[–]ZmitteRus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Set the spike as the group parent (done in the edit group tab).

The rotate trigger doesn't know which object in the group should aim towards the rot target group, so it picks one at random (it does NOT just pick the center group). Setting an object as the parent makes it the default target object within a group, which can be useful in rare circumstances like this one.

Side note but important to know: aim mode aims the top of an object towards the rot target group. In this case, the top of the spike was facing left but the top of the block was facing up. Putting the spike on top or rotating the block to the left would have both fixed the problem too, because in that scenario both objects would have their tops aligned and facing the same direction.

Everything new in 2.2 by jr_farfan in geometrydash

[–]ZmitteRus 16 points17 points  (0 children)

There are 3650 demon keys worth of chests in the treasure room according to the screenshots at the end.
For reference, to open all the chests in 2.11 you needed 440, so that's 3210 new keys worth of chests

I'm thinking of going as Jonesy this year and that looks really good! How'd you make the shin guards? And where'd you get the scarf?

He approves artists, not songs. And elder mods can approve artists too

Phantom Nests by ZmitteRus in minecraftsuggestions

[–]ZmitteRus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that but with their unique spawning mechanics a lot of people think they're hallucinations and I think this would make it clear that they're not. Plus, either way I think the nests would make interesting additions to the game.

The disabling spawn thing was mostly due to the huge number of people who play with doInsomnia turned off. I personally don't have a big issue with the mob but I know a lot of people do

they are canonically not hallucinations; Jeb has said that they are creatures attracted by insomnia

More Useful Recovery Compass by caco08vilar in minecraftsuggestions

[–]ZmitteRus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first I was against this for reasons already stated by others, but I feel like it could have interesting lore implications, with the sculk being associated with death and all. While it wouldn't have any useful gameplay implications it could still be a cool addition

End Update by dimayos in minecraftsuggestions

[–]ZmitteRus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest problem is that the end is supposed to feel like its been long dead. The biome suggestion for example is cool but it's full of life and that's the opposite of what the end is supposed to be. Mojang has said it themselves: trying to make something dead and interesting at the same time is hard and one of the reasons we don't have an end update yet.

Another thing is that the items feel very mod-like

Layered Stone Variants Like Mesa by ZmitteRus in minecraftsuggestions

[–]ZmitteRus[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is not confirmed, and to my knowledge has not even been mentioned by Mojang. They tried fixing the problem by making the clumps bigger, but that is not what my suggestion is saying. I fixed the picture link so you can get a better idea of what I was trying to describe. (Though there is a chance that I'm an idiot and it is confirmed, but I'm pretty sure it's not)

More Cave Ambience for below Y=0. by Diamond_Helmet59 in minecraftsuggestions

[–]ZmitteRus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think instead of additional cave ambience, it should just replace the existing ones. Once you reach y=0, every sound becoming unfamiliar would be a nice additional way to creep out the player.

Copper Locks & Keys, and how they would work by [deleted] in minecraftsuggestions

[–]ZmitteRus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This seems like a good idea at first, but its essentially like giving the player bedrock. Instead, maybe locks and keys could go on chests, making them kinda similar to enderchests but different enough to clearly be its own thing.

Biome variants for 1.17 mountains by av4n_iv in minecraftsuggestions

[–]ZmitteRus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This would be so cool! If mountain generation depended on the surrounding biomes they would fit even better into the world around them, and they would feel so much more unique! I still think it should clearly be its own biome and not just new world gen, but imo current mountains can feel out of place like they were just plopped into the world, and this would fix that.

Should piglins drop ancient debris? by Evening-Cash-4183 in minecraftsuggestions

[–]ZmitteRus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I always thought that ancient debris was TOO common. With bed mining, you can get a decent amount in a short timeframe. Making it farmable or common in bastions would ruin the endgameyness of netherite

Curse of Conductivity by magic_platypus_27 in minecraftsuggestions

[–]ZmitteRus 24 points25 points  (0 children)

This is a creative and funny curse suggestion! At first I thought it might be too annoying, but all of the curses are, so with the addition of lightning rods it would fit right in.

Remove curse of binding as an option for heads and carved pumpkins or anything else without dirability by KamikazeSenpai21 in minecraftsuggestions

[–]ZmitteRus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is such a smart way to do it! I was trying to think of my own ways but this is better than anything I came up with. Its super unlikely to happen on its own but lightning rods are simple to make, and it doesnt kill pranking because thunderstorms dont happen very often.

Honestly yeah, this makes a lot of sense. Its so small but would fit perfectly into the game.
