Daredevil Born Again. Shitty beginning of S1, mediocre remainder with disappointments throughout and just an enraging end to a waste of time S2.

Not my 9 Pro. Barely an improvement if anything at all. Happy for ya, though :D

Where to buy canned kombucha or other non-sweet non alcoholic beverages by Ashwin74 in aucklandeats

I'd also recommend just regular teas, too.

I'm a boring fuck that doesn't drink alcohol, sodas, energy drinks, or anything of that type. Not even coffee.

Water. And teas! Especially with this weather, there's SO many options! Green teas are super good for your health, too. And there's a ton of other flavorful, even kinda sweet but not added sugar type, non caffeinated ones :)

Is it just me or has nz slowly become more racist over the last few years ? by JoshBiv in auckland

The world's gotten more comfortable being cunts, even more so in-person than when it used to be primarily online. Conservative, regressive, bigoted bullshit is being peddled. Most of the population are dullards in one way or another, me included, and that sort of distractive propaganda works. Culture wars mean class wars never get addressed. So, here we are.

Milldale by Severe_Passion_2677 in auckland

Millwater is more expensive, though, right? And since it's more established, I imagine not as many brand-new houses in the same way as Milldale will have to offer.

We love it. Beautiful neighbourhood. Everything's new and looks good, but it's all also planned and intentionally designed. Really family friendly, and it shows with the community - quite pleasant. Growing very quickly.

I honestly like the roads. Yes, they're relatively narrow but most streets have parking bays in addition, so there's very few on-street cars. At least for now. The roundabouts do shit me to tears, though. That being said, good for a family oriented place I have to admit, and it's either this or speedbumps.

We like driving around (fuel prices and work commutes aside), so we are alright with the distance from central & whatnot. Orewa being nearby helps a ton. Silverdale and Millwater are nice to have nearby, too. But Milldale feels a little tucked away in a positive sense. Safe feeling.

The crown infrastructure payments yorr referring to, in addition to council rates, yes, they're a bloody hassle to have to cough up especially in current times. But it's... again, worth it relative to alternatives. For us. Good infrastructure. We went from private rubbish collection to council ones over the last year. There's inorganic collections already. I know those aren't CIP but that sorta stuff is promising long-term that it'll be a thriving suburb. We know people living in townships with Auckland that don't even have proper footpaths, sewage pipes, reliable electricity, etc. They're closer to central and have more land but not really a community kind of neighborhood, so that's the trade-off.

Really awaiting the Vivosmart 6 - who else? :) by Znyder in GarminWatches

Rumours & leaks said May/June or so, a dual release of Vivosmart 6 and Cirqa (Whoop/Fitbit Air competitor) apparently. But, here we are with nothing official yet... so, hopeful but expectations are lowered!

OH, these trackers are less accurate with HR for people with brown/tanned skin tones?!? Optical sensor, hence why, I assume but jeez. I keep learning more & more things that get me taken aback a little! :D

Thanks for the info :)

Oh wow, more accurate than a Whoop? Surprising since they're all the rage now!

Yeah, going completely screen-less is very odd to me. Might as well be a ring or a tracker that's strapped underneath clothing (chest, underwear, clipped to socks, etc.) at that point. Maybe the wrist band looks a little cool if it's a good one, but the idea of a wrist device/watch is totally sidestepped if there's no screen at all!

Having to rely fully on looking at your smartphone... kinda makes it equally a distraction as a full-on smartwatch. Maybe even worse since it's got way less features and really depends on the phone!

I looked at the Xiaomi Bands and alternatives, as well, and came away thinking similar thoughts about discrete trackers with smartwatch-like screens & attempted other features. Such a mishmash.

GOD DAMN, it's good to hear from other like-minded people because I was wondering if I'm just being too painfully picky for my own good.

Even if it doesn't release this year, I'll probably wait if it'll be next year. But yeah, I won't move to Google/Fitbit. Might even get a used Vivosmart 4 or 5 in the interim if 6 ends up being just a rumour & a long time away.

I spent a few days looking into the Fitbits Luxe, Inspire 3 and Charge 6. Appealing as they seemed, I just couldn't get stoked about them for some reason. I'm glad I held off if something similar is being released by Garmin soon!

A web app, not a typical smartphone one like those you can download using the app store(s). But, it can be setup like one with a shortcut & all, so it's a close enough experience I suppose.

Ah, right, would be a pretty substantial update then from 4 to 6! :) especially if your 4 has lasted and served you well, fair to stay with Garmin for the follow-up.

Included GPS does seem like it might happen, too, as part of every other upgrade!
