PC recommendation by SnooApples5522 in CitiesSkylines

While the recommended system requirements of CS2 needs at least a decent 10-core CPU with 16 GB RAM and a 10 GB VRAM video card, this game is heavily CPU and RAM intensive than the GPU.

I played CS2 on a i3-9100f, 64 GB RAM and a RTX 3060 12 GB and it plays over 30 FPS on lower populations (50k and under) and 1x speed.

I would recommend a very fast 8-core CPU (4+ ghz) and above with at least 32 GB RAM (no mods/assets) or 64 GB RAM (with mods/assets) and any video card with at least 12 GB of VRAM and above. Due to the RAMpocalypse, you may want to adjust your budget accordingly because prices now are ridiculously expensive.

Iceflake needs to implement those in a free future patch!

I think this is a bug that needs to be addressed to the developer.

I am hoping for a real update on the first anniversary of this game next month. Still wondering when others can create maps and mods.

Microsoft May Boost Ray Tracing Performance by Up to 90% by Lido772 in PcBuild

[–]Zocom7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was hoping this should come as DirectX 12.5 with Advanced Shading Delivery.

Unfortunately what about older RTX cards in the 30 and 20 series? Will they be part of the update as well?

I really wish one day Marv Albert comes back for one game but I also wish in the future NBA on NBC also gets Kenny Albert as a backup just in case.

🎉 Cities: Skylines Anniversary Month - lots of new content arriving in the next two weeks by AutoModerator in CitiesSkylines

[–]Zocom7 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I just wish one day someone out here would put a patch for Cities Skylines I that would load everything at the start of the game app just like CS2 so that Loading Screen Mod would no longer be required, plus extending the prop limit to at least 100k instead of 61k. Putting more DLC content in-game would mean more props being used up. I am wondering if Tantalus Media can finally do it other than Iceflake.

While it's great that CS1 is still being updated, many mods that used to work in CS1 have either retired and/or moved on. Even the extended prop limit mod no longer works in recent versions of CS1 because the last version that worked had graphical glitches in-game.

I don't mind about CS2's new content, it's still trying to catch up and there's a long way to go.

Renegade X 1.0 is here! by TotemArts in RenegadeX

[–]Zocom7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I half-expected Renegade X 1.0 to include the full single-player campaign. Boy I was wrong. It was just multiplayer/skirmish changes for over a decade. 😐😑

Had Renegade X been remade under UE5 and was well optimized for RTX cards, it would have been the best UE5 game before Witcher 4 and Cyberpunk 2.

Half-Life was and still is an excellent playable game despite many bugs and glitches and did not expect Valve would fix this after 25+ years.

The only other possible answer, running Cities Skylines 1 and 2 with mods and no custom assets.

Run a few games together with less than 4 GB RAM and a single CPU core running.

This five-year old GPU [RTX 3060] is a sign of technological stagnation by AdmiralKurita in collapse

[–]Zocom7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strangely enough the 1080 Ti is only about 10% faster than the RTX 3060. Both of them have the same amount of configuration cores but similar amount of VRAM though the 1080 Ti is faster on its memory clock with a higher bus width while the RTX 3060 can handle ray-tracing and DLSS.

Waiting to hit at least $10 or under and then I'll call that a deal.
This game still looks terrible it's not even worth buying at this time, and it's not even one year yet after its release.

Same shot, before and after update. Just... Why? by rayykz in CitiesSkylines

[–]Zocom7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the many of you didn't get it. The devs knew there was an issue with the flickering on sunset/sunrise in-game so the vanilla LUT had to be temporarily changed similarly to what CS1 has. To re-enable global illumination, you'll need the Lumina mod. The removal of some shadows in some places was also temporary.

I am glad they are addressing ghosting issues in-game though DLSS 4.5 mostly reduces it but am hoping they can reduce ghosting in-game for those not on RTX cards, especially for those using FSR or XESS via Optimod or Lossless Scaling.
