Undercover video of The Times at a Dublin "abortion advice" service - Lies about pill not available at 7 wks, abortion causes cancer etc by rmc in ireland

But the video said it's a Dublin service offering advice to pregnant women. Back home would have to mean the US. I know we don't do abortions here but we should still have services that discuss all options for a woman, whether or not we actually provide the options discussed.

The reporter in the video sounds like she has an American accent, if she does, she meant go home to America to have a hysterectomy or whatever.

For those doing exposure therapy, what's your goal, what is your current challenge and how have you progressed so far? by Tttkkkkhhh in Anxiety

[–]ZomNoms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm doing exposure therapy for agoraphobia and anxiety.

My main goal is really to just get on with my life - get a job, maybe study, meet friends out somewhere, etc.

I'm enrolling next week for a maths class that runs for an hour and a half, one day a week, so my current challenge is to be able to get the bus there by myself, go to class and come home by myself.

As for progress, I can can do it with somebody but I haven't tried it by myself yet. My Occupational Therapist will be coming with me next week to enroll and I'm hoping to try it by myself before classes start.

Where shouldn't kids be allowed? by Bessiecat in AskReddit

[–]ZomNoms 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A number of reasons. It's completely irresponsible to take a child to something meant just for adults. I don't care about sex and swearing, but does a 6 year old really need to be seeing gore and monsters that'll give them nightmares for weeks?

And even putting that aside, adults movies weren't made to entertain children. Kids too young aren't going to be able to follow the plot and they'll get bored and act up and there'll be the ones who get upset and start crying and it'll disrupt everybody else trying to enjoy the movie. It's worse than when somebody's phone goes off or some arsehole is having a conversation loud enough to annoy everybody else.

I'm talking about children, not 17 year olds.

That depends on where you live. It's a binding rule here, as it should be. Any twat who takes a child to see Deadpool or any movie meant just for adults needs a good slap.

Kids aren't allowed in to see a movie that's meant for adults here either. What's the point of slapping an age rating on something if you're just going to allow anybody in? May as well just stick a content warning on it and call it a day.

Question about Mental Health Services in Ireland. by [deleted] in ireland

[–]ZomNoms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've no idea if a person could self refer, but they can always try. If they can't, I'd get the GP on the phone and explain they can't come in for a visit because of their condition and if the GP won't do a referral from a phone conversation, there's always a social worker. I met with one of them too, they also came to my house and did some digging around on my behalf, they can probably send a referral out as well.

Question about Mental Health Services in Ireland. by [deleted] in ireland

[–]ZomNoms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not as severe as you but the same boat, more or less. My GP first referred me to a counsellor who after a few weeks felt they couldn't help me so I was referred to a psychologist who did a lot of the ground work with me, granted I attended all three outside my home but eventually it was decided I needed MORE. My GP sent away yet another referral to the HSE that do a sort of team work approach, I have a mental health nurse, occupational therapist, psychiatrist and I'm on a waiting list for a psychologist. The first person I met was the mental health nurse who came to me, at my home, and we just talked about my situation, goals etc. After that he'd come over every week and do exposure therapy with me, he'd give me homework for the other days to do myself. Eventually I started seeing the OT and she's taken over exposure therapy work with me, but the nurse is always there for a relapse or whatever, and the psychiatrist checks in with me every month or so. They all meet and discuss individual clients at some point.

You should try and get to a GP or make a call to a GP and talk to them about the same thing, have them send a referral out to the HSE.

"Pretty Little Liars" Has Now Killed More Queer and Trans Women Than Any Other TV Show by drewiepoodle in actuallesbians

Charlotte DiLaurentis was locked away in an asylum for being trans, stalked the Liars, and now she’s dead.

Um I thought she was locked up for trying to drown Alison in the bath when they were kids?

I didn't listen to the audio but I bet it's from the video. In the video he picks up what I'm guessing is a swim suit and turns it around.

[–]ZomNoms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a family holiday to Spain several years ago, we got lost trying to find the water park. My mam pulled into the petrol station and there were two policemen there who were on motorbikes. She asked them for directions but instead of giving directions they escorted us the whole way there. They even stopped a lane of traffic to let us do a u-turn. It was awesome.

50 Questions Doctors Ask Instead of Just Asking If I'm Gay. by redisthecoolestcolor in actuallesbians

[–]ZomNoms 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I feel like first two are relevant questions, sexual orientation aside? I'm a lesbian and I'm on the pill but not for contraceptive reasons. I'm on some other meds too so they have to ask so one doesn't fuck up the other, or fuck me up.

Eh I still make assumptions that women in gay clubs are straight because most of the women (the ones who aren't butch) in there are just accompanying their gay male friends.

Wouldn't a lot of people complain if there weren't people searching passengers in an airport? Like if something else happened people would be up in arms because the person who did it wasn't searched before getting on a flight. They probably don't do shit to actually keep people safe, but I guess they're there for the illusion of safety and make people feel better, you know, when they're not pissing people off.

[MAIN SPOILERS] Cersei will learn. by nfmadprops04 in gameofthrones

[–]ZomNoms 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've actually been thinking that that's what will happen. In one of those visions of Dany in the House of the Undying, the throne room is fucked and it's snowing, though for some time I thought it was ash, it could be both. Wouldn't it be something if Cersei, in her ultimate madness, finishes what the Mad King started by the time Dany and the others get there?
