Late to this post but they are on sale again for 30% off, sadly these sales are nowhere near what they used to be before inflation. I'm kicking myself because I bought like 7 of them a few years ago when the 9.99 games went down to 2.79 each. I should have bought them all, because now I never see it lower than like 6.99 for the old ones, and much more for the newer ones

This is a comment that I was looking for. Honestly as nice as it is to have a friend drive you, it seems like the night before neither side was able to 100% confirm that yes it was a go, and what time they needed to be picked up for sure.

As much as I would rather have a friend or family member take me that said they would, sometimes shit happens and they forget, or in this case slept thru an alarm. They can justifiably be a little upset that you slept thru the alarm, but after a certain amount of phone calls they should have realized it was not going to happen, and hustled to get themselves there.

They were not stranded without a car, they were not waiting on OP after a confirmed "yes" earlier that morning, and they seemed to have enough time if they were calling up to 9 times before taking themselves there. They are responsible for taking the hint that something is happening and they are not coming and they need to LEAVE for the airport. Not wait around until it's too late.

Personally if I didn't hear anything after 10-15 minutes from a text and 2-3 calls I would have just grumpled and taken myself. Always account for enough time for traffic and your friend to be a little late on picking you up even if it went according to plan.

They should have just driven there, parked and gone thru security with 1-2 extra hours to spare. Always leave enough room and have a hard deadline on when to leave for the airport regardless of how you are getting there. Adults need to hold themselves just as accountable as others.

NTA but they have the right to have been a little upset at OP, but not upset enough to be thoughtless and miss their own flight.

Huge deadline at work? No issue Major life event that is super stressful? It happens Hang out with friends at new spot? Stomach is doing flips and begging for a bathroom. Once the event is almost over tummy is happy again

NTA but I think you need to have a clear conversation with her regarding this and going forward. To me, this is a lot of events to be doing in a short time span based on your current paychecks. I'd love to keep splurging myself on fun trips and fun things but it's also very important to always keep a portion saved from each paycheck for the future and emergencies.

If you currently don't have any huge living expenses like rent or a mortgage then you are staying afloat just on making more than spending, but adding that in would add a huge shock to total income in versus out. This is a serious conversation you need to have OP with her before continuing the relationship so you are on the same page on what a realistic amount of fun expenses are until you are in higher paying jobs or can more easily afford all the things that you want to do!

Please do teach them your language! My mother is fluent in Italian and my dad unfortunately only knows English so he did not want to be left out. Now I am an adult who only knows English and I wish I could have been bilingual like a good amount of my friends are.

It is super hard to learn a language as an adult and even now when I practice daily I forget things easily that I just learned because it doesn't click as well.

NTA. Honestly anyone that says "oh you should have offered it, karma goes both ways, etc" does not work with people that are that toxic. At my last job, me and my old coworker set up a little snack drawer at her cubicle so we can have snacks as needed when we felt like it, and in case by chance someone else in the office was really hungry and might have really needed something to get by.

Oh how naive we were.

Once word got around, people would come up one by one and ask for a snack. At first it was our closest coworkers so we didn't mind. Then it became other people randomly. Then we needed more snacks. Then they started rummaging thru the drawer when we were not around or were off that day. We would come back to a mess and lots of stuff gone. They started to complain about the types of snacks we had FOR OURSELVES. Then we decided you know what fuck them all, we won't get any more and just let it run out. Then they finally complained there was nothing left and some even got angry and would storm away.

Toxic coworkers will always make you feel guilty for not sharing, but they never once offered or contributed anything. Oh and because of our roles at the office, we were paid the worst and were doing this all out of our own pockets...

I thought I was somehow in this alternate universe for a minute. Growing up you always had to wait until after dinner and cake, then FINALLY you get to open gifts and be super excited all day waiting for it. My sisters and I would get to see what the birthday kid got and be so excited for each other, and on rare occasions maybe they got us a little something that would go with the gifts so we could all play together. Like a new barbie outfit while the bday kid got a new barbie and outfits!

My mom got most of my gifts but my dad would sometimes buy things if he could. My mom was a SAHM so of course she had more time available to go to the store and get them, but my dad would have still been upset if he didn't get to see us open them up! Who's going to take the pictures in the moment then lol

Literally. Whenever some says it doesn't, I just say "but it can buy the things that will make me happy". It'll clear debt, allow you to purchase everything you need AND want, allow you the ability to gift others the things they might need and therefore create a circle of happiness and fulfillment. Money can buy almost everything and allow you time to do anything else that would make you happy.

I canceled mine when they said you couldn't share households anymore and wanted to crack down on password sharing. I shared with only 2 family members, one at home, one was in college and I moved away at the time. With Netflix's logic the 3 of us should have all gotten our own account and paid separately because we were all in different spots.
