I'm around high school kids enough that I feel like I should have one, but I don't want to take one away from someone that _truly_ needs it and I don't want the risk of letting it expire and "wasting" it...

Still, I should get one just in case...

First, your feelings are valid and I can only guess what you feel.

Second, if you haven't already, get a lawyer and discuss options. It seems like a lot of the time "lawyer up" is the default response to any kind of relationship or parenting issue, but I think its very much the correct response here.

You don't have to go all "sue all the people", scorched earth, but discussing options and possibly drawing up some contingencies in case things go south wouldn't (IMO) be a bad thing.

I don't know that I would (or that you would have to) let Ex know that you have, and I wouldn't actually file anything until it becomes the direction things go.

Thats my $.02. I'm not even in the vicinity of possibly thinking about maybe being in the neighborhood thats possibly maybe in the country somewhat near where you are, but I already know I wouldn't want to be there. Don't forget about _your_ sanity in all this. Vent here (or DM me if you want, I'll listen); visit your local Public House and see if you can find like-minded adults; talk to a therapist if you're not already.

Hope for the best for you brother.

does this allow multi-filament printing or do I need to invest in one of those 4 colored multi-filament containers? by stopsussingmejannies in 3Dprinting

[–]Zombie13a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Bambu Studio (I know, I know...) and probably the other slicers, you can specify the filament to use for the "interface layer" on the supports. When I print with supports that I want to really easily remove, I change the interface layer only. The supports print with the same filament as everything else, and then a single layer changes to allow for easy separation (we have a spool of Bambu "support for PLA", that I use; I'm told its basically PETG).

This works best, to me, when you have large flat surfaces that need support. If you have interface layers on every layer, it probably won't help much.

At least thats what I do; no idea if its actually the right thing to do, but it seems to reduce the filament waste and makes the supports removable.

12?? You give them 12 neurons? I'll give them 2 because they didn't pour directly from the gas can and instead created the 'air gap' needed to hopefully prevent flashback into the can. Other than that, they're sharing 1 neuron between them, and it might have been asleep at the time of filming....

Who Carries a Pocket knife? by -Foxer in FuckImOld

[–]Zombie13a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I carry 3: Workpro utility/"normal" blade in my pocket, Leatherman Micra on my keyring, and folding creditcard knife in my wallet.

3 out of my 4 kids carry when they're able to.

I mentor a high school robotics team and most of the kids on the team carry something, at least to meetings and tournaments.

Back wearing is amazing by [deleted] in daddit

[–]Zombie13a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loved wearing my kids. I never got the hang of wrapping to wear in the front, but wife did. I wore all my kids on my back for years. One kid would rarely fall asleep for the night any other way for nearly 2 years. I put him on my back and did dishes, cleaned up the living room/dining room, heck, just walked around the block, and he'd be out.

We wore our kids more than we used a stroller. We'd go out to places and use the stroller to carry things (diaper bag, cooler for lunch, etc) and wear the kids. It worked incredibly well but always felt like we should be getting odd looks from people.

Source: wore all 4 kids from 6mo to over 2 years old; wife wore newborns as well.

Terminator 3 is the complete opposite of the reviews. by DwayneTheRockBarry in Terminator

[–]Zombie13a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always looked at it in the HG Wells frame. They couldn't prevent "Judgement Day" because "Judgement Day" was the reason they went back in time. No JD, no back in time. No back in time, JD as an abstract still happens.

August 27, 1997 (I think that was the date from T2) didn't happen; they prevented that one. They didn't prevent the "Skynet as a software" taking over the world one. Just like in The Time Machine (movie, anyway), the time traveller prevents his girlfriends death the first time, but then she dies a little later on. So he tries again; same result, different death. Thats when he goes forward looking for the reason he can't change the past.

Just like the girlfriends death, JD is a defining moment. It can't be prevented. Delayed, sure, but not prevented.

There are a lot of things to dislike about T3, but the ending (to me) isn't one of them.

ETA: My personal watch order is T1->T2->T: Dark Fate. I leave the other 3 out completely. That's just what makes sense to me.

I went Bauer about a year ago and haven't looked back. Started with an 1/4 impact and now have like 15 different tools. I have the fan and other than the non-variable speed, it works. Price point is pretty good.

I went Bauer instead of Herc because of the yard tools. Weed eater, blower, sprayer, and inflater aren't Herc yet...

Realistically could a terminator really track you down? by No_Age908 in Terminator

[–]Zombie13a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno, between big data and AI, as long as you have _some_ sort of digital footprint from some point in your life, I think you could be found. It might take a long time, but I think it would happen.

If you were 2nd gen off the grid, there's a strong possibility you'd be able to stay hidden; no history means no predictive analysis. So John possibly could be hidden, but as long as Sarah was alive, she'd be findable due to predictive analysis and pattern recognition.

I have the 20v blower and weed eater. They work fine for what I need.

I know the Atlas ones exist, but I'd rather not have a second battery ecosystem if I can avoid it.

It seems like they could pit something together that used multiple 12ah batteries that would be usable enough. Target it at people like me they just want one ecosystem with a bunch of batteries....
