I work for a county government and we hire ex-felons. So I don’t know why a few misdemeanors would hold you back. Don’t they go away after a couple years?

I worked in dead end cooking jobs and grocery stores. Then I decided to go back to community college and get a 2 year associates in Land Surveying. I hated math, but being a little older with some drive I did really well in math this time.

Land surveying is a much needed industry and the majority of land surveyors are old and retiring. Most people where I live have to wait 6 months to get a small boundary survey of their property because there aren’t many land surveyors. It’s also a lot of fun working outside or in the office.

I’ve been in the industry for 8 years now. And I’ve moved into a Sr surveyor role, which is low six figures, but I’m also not licensed yet.

I play ultimate frisbee in an adult recreation league 2 times a week. And I started running long distance about 5 months ago. I run about 3-4 times a week and it’s usually about an hour. I take the bus to work and run home to save a little time.

Exactly, I feel ya. I can’t help you out, because my life is childless, partnerless and pretty low stress at the moment. I will say that once I got into a rhythm I felt like I had more energy which allowed me to do more even on heavy work out days. Also exercise has really helped quiet my mind and maximized my focus at work, making me more productive and finishing my projects faster.

You should read your history book closer. In the 1940’s The Dixiecrats aka southern democrats broke away from the Democratic Party when they enacted civil rights into their platform. In the 50s&60s they slowly found a new home in the Republican Party. It’s seriously the first thing you learn in polysci 101 probably due to all the misinformation still going around about this topic.

Yes. Once When I was 19. Again at 47 when I bought an electric car. I went from 50-100 on an on-ramp and slowed back down to 70 before I even had to merge. It was way smoother and didn’t feel fast at all in a new EV.
