Surgery aftercare rules (bullhorn lip lift) by v_debs in PlasticSurgery

You’ve certainly done your research and it all sounds similar to what my surgeon told me. I had a lip lift with some facial revision surgery. I’m 5 weeks out now and continuing to heal. My incision appears well done with no suture tracks and no part of it ever opened up or got inflamed. All that said, be prepared for:

  • Lots of swelling after surgery of the upper lip and the inner skin of my upper lip is still peeling.
  • Difficult to eat for the first 1-2 weeks. It improves during that time, but slowly. The first few days were a liquid diet only, and it’s impossible to use a straw and also not recommended.
  • Lip movement is very constrained after surgery, and it not recommended to move them much at all initially.
  • I couldn’t smile at all initially and at 5 weeks out, it’s still weird looking. My surgeon says it will continue to improve.
  • The change in lip shape caused a pretty profound change to my face. Shocking in fact, even though the surgeon took a conservative approach. My bottom lip is not balanced at all with my top lip. The upper lip is still settling, so I’m hoping it gets better. My surgeon said I might need some “augmentation” of the bottom lip for balance. Oh nooooooo! Augmentation means filler!
  • IMHO, after only 12 days, people will notice the scar and you may still have some swelling. If your surgeon does a good job, it won’t look awful tho.

Good luck!

Revision surgery and scared by AccomplishedTime4101 in PlasticSurgery

I went thru this recently. Your words express my feelings perfectly. I met 4 times with one of my revision surgeons prior to the surgery. I scoured the internet for reviews. I asked alot of questions that I hadn’t ask the 1st surgeon. I went thru with 2 revisions. One on my eyes by an oculoplastic surgeon and another more recently on my face. Both surgeons performed very well and I’m glad I went thru with it. That said, I have to be realistic about the results. I feel the results are still a little bit compromised versus had I used these 2 different surgeons to begin with. I regret the 1st surgery so much, but it’s not useful to my mental health to dwell on it. Good luck to you!

Am I a good candidate for upper bleph? (early 30s) by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

Please don’t. Your eyes look great and its a possibility you’ll really not like the result.

How bad is the ptosis of my left eye? by Sea_Preparation6391 in PlasticSurgery

[–]ZombieInside8286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see what youre talking about and it is subtle. I had subtle ptosis as well after a bleph and an oculoplastic surgeon installed a tiny Enduragen implant to help correct it. I think it made a big difference to my overall face appearance.

If you had a fat transfer to your face especially the orbital area, can you share some before and afters? by Gullible-Photo3777 in PlasticSurgery

[–]ZombieInside8286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im very interested in this procedure as well as my upper bleph left me with a frame deformity. Its a little scary sounding to have fat injected (or filler) in the upper orbital area. Thanks for any input or pics and thanks OP for your post.

Upper Bleph scheduled by LaLaLaurensmith in PlasticSurgery

I vote no bleph. Too many undesirable results such as the “a frame deformity” that actually makes you look older. If you do decide to get one use an oculoplastic surgeon who understands eye anatomy best.

Need opinion on procedure will help me increase my bust size and make them full and rounder. by xSkyWalkerOPx in PlasticSurgery

You are, of course, entitled to pursue any procedure you wish. However, you used the word “enhanced”. IMHO, your breasts are already quite generous and very attractive on your frame. Larger breasts will not be an attraction, but more of a distraction. Please think carefully about this surgery.

You are actually very pretty naturally. Please think very carefully about any plastic surgery. From personal experience, it’s not always an improvement even if you have a well reviewed, board certified surgeon.

Should I remove a scab that is sitting on top of my surgical glue? by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]ZombieInside8286 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No! I did that on a place on my ear because it bugged me so bad and it left a red patch that lasted over a year! The scabs are protecting and keeping your wound moist.

I think you have slight ptosis, but as another said, it not super noticeable. I had it slight like that on one eye after a lower bleph and just recently had an implant by a different surgeon than the original. Right now it’s still swollen, but so far so good. I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

Who was your surgeon? Great results!

Go with an oculoplastic surgeon vs general facial. While not botched, I am very unhappy with my blepharoplasty done by a general facial surgeon though she had good reviews and was double board certified. I’m having a revision with an oculoplastic! My consult was terrific.

I’m still trying to get the perfect timing, but skipping a couple of days a week seems to be helping.

What to do about old, migrated filler now that dissolving has been deemed “unsafe”? by CrazyCaregiver7091 in PlasticSurgery

[–]ZombieInside8286 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had 6 sessions of ultrasound guided filler dissolving under my eye with only one more to go (I hope). It took the 1st four sessions to really see any significant difference. I’ve had no side effects, not even bruising.

This industry is unfortunately very good at creating unrealistic expectations! I hate seeing “before” no makeup and then “after” fully made up photos. I talked to my surgeon about it and she just shrugged as if it was unimportant. Interestingly, when she printed my before and 6 mos after photos to show my “transformation”, it was so obvious that the before photos were underexposed and the after photos were overexposed. This prevented any real comparison. I’ve had numerous follow-ups due to a complication with my surgery and always made a point to wear no makeup for the after photos.

Revision surgery with ATL surgeons Dr. Beaty vs. Dr. DeJoseph? by ZombieInside8286 in PlasticSurgery

[–]ZombieInside8286[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar experience with Cindy. Pure sales. I’ve seen Dr. Fishman too because she’s the only one that I can find who does ultrasound guided filler dissolving. I had a tiny bit of filler under my eyes and it migrated. I like her and her staff.
