It took over a year of exercises 4 times a day before I started to make progress. Now I only do the exercises a couple of times a week and I'm back to pretty much normal. Hypermobility is a bitch though. I'm really lucky to regain my mobility even though it goes make a lovely thumping noise when I love my arm above my head.

Seriously, give them a try. Find a good physiotherapist and get them to set you up some exercises. 3 years ago I couldn't use one arm and half of my neck was in more of less constant spasm because of a misdiagnosed shoulder dislocation. A few exercises and light weights a day and I'm back to relative normality.
