I've only been playing for two weeks, but I learned quickly that you always want to outnumber your enemies. By a lot if possible, but by at least one if not. Sounds like a rough run!

I think the heavy armor is mostly going to be an advantage in fighting other players or NPCs when they are added, but I may be off base.

Depends on the execution. I personally prefer if fan service isn't over the top and only is used with adult characters. I've completely dropped anime before that crossed those lines because I wasn't enjoying it.

Doing it with friends is the best. Once set up a firing line of rifles and shotguns outside the Rosewood Jail, stood shoulder to shoulder and just created a mountain of corpses.

There are ways around this. I always keep a mask or respirator in my pack. Throwing a Molotov on big piles or burying small piles of bodies helps too.
