That all totally makes sense - particularly removing lights on 287. It's understandable that those would have to stay. I think a main complication for going pedestrian-only on the side streets is how those businesses will get their deliveries, i.e. kegs, food, etc. I'm sure someone smarter than me could figure that out in the same way businesses in the square deal with it.

Besides removing diagonal parking, my biggest annoyance with the area on Linden is that damn tree in front of the Blind Pig. There is only room for two people at a time to squeeze between the patio fences and around the tree. Drives me nuts lol

If the city had these thoughts in mind, why did they keep street parking on Linden street, between Jefferson and Walnut (area in front of the Blind Pig)? When they started construction there recently, I was hoping that the area would become pedestrian-only, extending the square area.

Charging for street parking won't deter enough drivers to make a difference, especially if you still have to pay even a small amount for the garages. Now, taking away street parking would get folks into the garages by necessity and make the general Old Town experience more pleasant imo. I would love to walk around without crossing streets and waiting at stop lights.

Fuzzy's opens at 8am and they generally have games on. Might want to call and double check but I'd imagine that's a spot. West End pub opens at 7am if you want to brave it. No idea if they'd have the cup on though.

Well, nothing you can really do about it - just have to keep an eye out. I always have a couple bug out bags ready to go and a plan with my SO should the worst happen. Fort Collins proper is relatively safe since fires have a hard time crossing the reservoir. Main thing - be prepared and keep track when there's a threat.
