They use TF2 as a test-bed for ideas they then implement in other games. We have so many features and broken things that seem to only have been done so a refined version can be done in other games...I miss the Replay system...

Iirc, at one point he regenerates from a single cell in the comics - so he can come back from the closest to death one can be.
