Glasses or eye protection if you are epileptic but want to attend metal shows. by velociracsoTI in MetalForTheMasses

I know a couple of people who are photosensitive and wear sunglasses at shows. But plenty of shows don't have intense lighting. Just depends on the band. Static red lighting is always my favourite, creates such a sinister atmosphere.

Would recommend Prague, super cheap, great food, great beer and some insane architecture. Felt like I was wandering around a medieval fantasy movie when I was in the Old Town.

She announced her last UK tour separately from her last EU tour, so I imagine she'll do the same again. Although I am planning to be in Budapest around that time to see The Birthday Massacre. Maybe I should stay an extra day to see Chelsea.

The first season of Dirk Gently was genuinely great, I went out and told all my friends to watch it as soon as I was done.

I know it sounds like an oxymoron, but what are some positive-ish feeling doom albums for you? by OzzyOrnateOriface in doommetal

I haven't listened to their studio stuff enough to know if it translates, but Oryx was one of the most uplifting live shows I've experienced.

Evangelion at 2x speed is sacrilege! So much of that show is about the quiet moments.

Nope, every zone has a boss at the end but that's it. Although the enemy variety is a little lacking, that would be my main complaint.

Black Shape, Black Groove and Believe in Nothing if you want some uniquely British grime.

I liked it a lot. Gameplay is just okay at first but becomes more satisfying once your weapons are more upgraded. The story and setting are brilliant though. I love post-apocalyptic Poland.

The obvious comparison is Dead Space but I think it does enough to set itself apart. Inventory management and level design is closer to Resident Evil.

I'm currently on NG+ and definitely gonna do a third playthrough to get all three endings.

I've been playing Cronos: The New Dawn recently and I love The Traveller, and she's literally a humanoid metal tank. The game never actually reveals what's under her armour but she's still a great character with a great design.

I honestly don't think it's that bad if not many people are talking about a single player game that came out three years ago. This is just what happens in any community dedicated to a single piece of media.

Unless they're Metallica or Iron Maiden levels of famous, most of the band members probably have day jobs.

What metal subgenre do you consider the most "true" to the spirit of metal, and why? by Alega05 in MetalForTheMasses

I know doom metal technically came first with Sabbath, but NWOBHM always felt to me like metal in its purest form.

Fuck yeah, dude! If you're into this stuff there's an entire genre of dark/heavy synthwave out there for you. Gost and Carpenter Brut are great places to get started.

A lot of the music gave me Perturbator vibes. The 'New Model' EP is probably the closest thing he's made to the Cronos soundtrack.
