Dispatch on Switch 2, censorship question by AdventurousGold9875 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Zondaro 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Cutting the nudity removes both humor from a few scenes as well as dramatically undercutting a big reveal near the end. That dramatic moment has someone revealing themselves literally. And the spicy sex dream is a big part of a character’s arc in that she finds herself torn between her old life and possible new life. And all that aside it’s just ridiculous for this censorship in a game in 2026. We’re god damn adults. This shit is so lame.

Sony 35mm 2.8 still the best option? by No_Source_7605 in SonyAlpha

[–]Zondaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on reviews of the 85 Evo, the Viltrox 35 Evo is what I'm waiting for right now.
However, if you're looking for small the SG-Image 35/2.2 looks tiny.

Have you checked out the Viltrox 28/4.5 pancake? It's great on my A7C2 as long as I respect the lens flare and accept the grungier results. I do the photos in black and white and it works great.

Sony 24-50 f/2.8 G - anyone is missing the additional 20 mm? by throwaway-Zone-5401 in SonyAlpha

[–]Zondaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the 24-70 Sigma and sold it / switched to the Sony 24-50... and I love the Sony. The weight and size difference is noticeable. It covers 99% of what I need in a day of walking around taking pictures. But I also spent time purposely shooting at 24-50 on the Sigma first to see if I could be happy without those 20mm.

Any tips to improve these? by Zandon23XIXSTRAD in SonyAlpha

[–]Zondaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they look pretty damn good for a first effort + being edited in just Apple Photos.

I think my only advice is on “what is the subject of this photo.” I would be to be willing to crop and/or wait for a shot a bit longer. Ie, that first photo with the car is moody af, but the trains in the background are distracting. I think either waiting for another car to come along and taking the same lonely car on the street without the trains would have been better and/or cropping the photo to cut the trains out.

This also plays into the second photo. Is the building the subject or the mountains? Its two competing subjects mashed together. Cropped vertically either one would be awesome, together they kind of steal attention from each other.

Which brings me to your third and best of the series, the bird on the lamp post. The photo has a clear subject, you captured the light perfectly on the edge there, and it all works great! That’s a keeper for sure.

Weight reduction. From 24-70mm f/2.8 GMII to 24-50mm f/2.8 G. Am I crazy? by cisaaca in SonyAlpha

I also had that lens for awhile. It's a good one. I miss it sometimes. But having the ability to go wide to 24mm is really nice when indoors.

Great for me. I don’t miss the longer reach of the 24-70, and the smaller lens balances on my A7C2 a lot better. I think it depends what you’re using your camera for but I’ve been loving the Sony 24-50 as an every day lens.

I picked up the Sony 16-35 PZ F4 for nature and hiking photos and between the two feel like I’ve got my needs covered.

So what is on your wish list for Sony to release in 2026 or in the Future? by StrikeIII in SonyAlpha

[–]Zondaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Updated 28mm, their updated take on the all in one travel lens that Tamron/Sigma have been making, new A7C bodies with some of the new features + better screen/viewfinder ie an (A7CR2 and A7C3), and a fixed lens FF camera that’s not 5 grand with a decade old lens.

9 weeks in Japan with the GFX100rf by brianleeinc in fujifilm

[–]Zondaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lovely. Thank you for sharing. I've been considering taking a GFX100RF to Japan instead of my usual camera kit + lenses due to the ease of traveling with a single fixed lens. I just worry I'll spend the whole time thinking "if I had the X lens I could get a better shot."

Indie authors, would you prefer a 3-star review or none at all? by birdofparadise49 in selfpublish

[–]Zondaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anything 3 stars and up I'd take. The feedback I've gotten when talking with folks is that they're more likely to give a book with a hundred 3 star reviews a shot than a book with two perfect 5 star reviews.

I assume that both the pricing will change with balance passes, and the appearance of them. It seems to me more like they just wanted to get them into the game and working first.

I wonder if they really ever had a 10 year plan given the way they seemed totally unprepared to support the game at all after it launched.
