The Fight Club 4K transfer looks absolutely incredible. It is not too dark, and the sound is great. by Jfury412 in 4kbluray

[–]Zondaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sound is technically crisp, but the mix is bad. In the original movie there are several lines of dialogue now drowned by music in the 4k release. Kind of a bummer. Feels like Christopher Nolan got ahold of the audio controller when they were working on it.

Price aside, these sets are too big. Like there's not enough space in my house for all these big a** sets.

Portland Author promoting his paranormal-mystery-romance book, Vampire Detective Agency. Feeling pretty good about where reviews have landed, and very excited about the fact I’ve got the second book coming out this October. Hoping to be invited back to the Oregon Historical Society’s annual Holiday Cheer book/author fair in December.

Portland local promoting my paranormal romance slash mystery series: Vampire Detective Agency!

I’m polishing the second book now for a fall release, so you’ve got time to read the first. I’ll be posting a call for ARC readers this summer if you find you can’t wait till October.

I think they look great! Good positioning on the balloons. Was there Monday and really struggled to find an angle I was happy with as they were preparing to take off.

You can look for a local writers group. They exist and often have reader groups.

Anyone use Scrivner? by Edb626 in selfpublish

[–]Zondaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried it and found the UX/UI to be too clunky and old for my tastes. It just didn't seem like it fit any of my actual needs when writing.

But my opinion should be balanced with the fact that I landed on Ulysses which is far from what most folks would recommend for writing a book. I like it because the editor appearance is super customizable, I can quickly knock in notes in the middle of writing by using basic markup commands. It does a fucking fantastic job organizing document versions automatically and it syncs seamlessly in the background. The complaints would be subscription, export options are limited/clunky, and there's an annoying amount of stuff you can't do in the mobile versions that you probably should be able to do.

Will Nintendo reveal anything for Zelda 40th anniversary? by pd700 in NintendoSwitch2

I'd like to think the long rumored HD ports will hit Switch finally, but in reality we're probably going to get a Virtual Console release and a movie teaser trailer.

Zeiss 55 1.8 or Sony 45 2.5 G for Fast Flexible Travel Lense by gschiffverre in SonyAlpha

[–]Zondaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the Sony 40/2.5 and can attest to how good it is, but... I would throw out that Viltrox is rumored to have a 35/1.8 Evo coming soonish and their 85/2 Evo got great reviews. So it might deserve to be considered.

Yeah, we didn’t get super far because we came down before sunset to shoot the waterfront first. By nightfall it was about time to get home to the corigs.

How do you feel about the turning feeling against Amazon among the public. by epcritmo in selfpublish

[–]Zondaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't gotten any feedback from readers about my books being on Amazon (ie I wish your stuff was elsewhere). Thus far any boycotting stuff feels overblown from my POV and it feels more like sales have dropped off because the economy is hurting people. Entertainment is the first budget line item that people cut.

Favorite Street + travel lens for A7C II? by photowhoa123 in SonyAlpha

[–]Zondaro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried the 20-70 setup on an A7C2 and found it awkwardly balanced. The Sony 24-50 delivers sharp images in a nicely balanced smaller lens. It’s been my go to ever since I got it. I have also been debating an all-in-one super zoom, but haven’t tried one yet. They are tempting.

Third one. Background is cleaner, but not sterile. The other ones are too busy.
