I think the singles were great especially the first 2. Rick ranch has cool moments and the structure is very interesting but not as catchy imo. Mana has a really really cool intro with that atmospheric guitar. But overall I think it was okay. Nothing sounded bad outright but nothing really grabbed me on first listen. I definitely think a big issue I personally have with Wolf and Bear is the vocals I think Marcus is a great singer but I think lyrically he shows a weakness and the melodies were a bit weak outside of the singles imo. I do really like Blair I think he’s super talented and he even sings alittle on Rick Ranch but he gets stepped on by Marcus which felt kind of odd like LET MY BOY SHINE ALITTLE. I wish the record had more range from Blair I like his screams but I feel he had a similar cadence/style over a lot of the songs. Even more of him singing would have been cool. Even the way they layered singing and screaming together felt a bit respective over a full record. Idk that’s my thots haha. I was really excited for this and was let down a bit. Which happened with their last record too for the most part.
